We purchased our Termpurpedic mattress in September. We first chose OC Mattress because it was close and offered many different brands. AND, OC Mattress has a huge showroom displaying what was available. Lauren was our salesperson. She answered all of my 'hard' questions with clarity and added more information that we needed to know. Blue Ribbon Delivery showed up within the time period give by Lauren. The delivery staff was careful in removing the old bed set and carrying in the new set. I highly recommend this family owned business. My husband and I purchased a Simmons beauty rest hybrid this afternoon. The sales person was great. He was not pushy at all. He provided us a lot of good information and gave us plenty of time to make our own decisions. Once we decided on the bed the rest was very quick. He was able to schedule same-day delivery. The price was great. Within two hours the delivery guys came to our home taking the old mattress and replacing it with the new mattress. I was very pleased with the service. Great customer service. We went to OC Mattress on Friday (3-17). We were debating between two mattresses, one that was on the firm side and more money and one that was slightly softer and less money. Salesman, Paul assured us that we could exchange for the other mattress without a problem. He informed us that we would have to pay 20% of the price if we wanted to exchange, but it wasn't difficult to switch out mattresses. "We have a 30 day guarantee" he said. We bought the $2600 mattress and hoped for the best. Once it was in our home we realized it was much more firm than it was in the store. It didn't even feel like the same mattress. We have not slept since we bought it. I spoke to my mother about the rough night and she said she would give us her mattress since she was moving. Great! We no longer needed a king size mattress. Since Paul had informed us that OC Mattress does not accept returns only exchanges, We called them and asked if we could pay the $500 exchange fee and exchange for a twin or double bed for our son even though he won't be needing a mattress for another couple years because he's only 6 months old. They said no, we could only exchange for a mattress that was of equal or greater value. They explained that their policy does not allow for changes in size and that they do not give any money back. This was never mentioned while Paul was telling us about their "guarantee." It's also not mentioned on their website... how convenient. I don't know how they could possibly be running a business this way. It seems completely ridiculous to me that they wouldn't want to work with their customers and hopefully have them repeat their business or refer others to them. In my case I'm wasn't asking for much. I said I would pay the $500 fee to return the mattress AND buy another mattress from their store. All I asked was to get the difference back and they flat out refused. I don't think that's unreasonable to assume a company would accept that return. Buy a mattress here at your own risk. Their customer service manager Stephanie is a nightmare and she will not help you. She is rude, condescending and very unprofessional. It's really sad to think a company exists that is so hard nosed and unwilling to compromise in any way for the customer. read more

I purchased a 1000 king mattress 4 years that has been leaving indentations for the last year. When I called about the warranty I was told quite rudely that the warranty is invalid because I lost the original receipt. I said well the bed was financed thru your store surely you keep customer records as well. His answer was, they would not honor the warranty. Heard on the Woody Radio Show on Friday morning that OC Mattress was having a 50% off sale for their listeners if you went in and mentioned their show. As the radio guys were mentioning it they said you could go in there and get a $3000 mattress for $1500. So I figured I would stop in and see about getting a mattress. However, they only had three mattresses on sale for 50% off and they were just the store brand mattresses, nothing else. I had gone in a week before and I think these are the mattresses that are always 50% off cause they were the same price at that time as well. My issue is the ad on the Woody show didn't mention that the sale only applied to the OC Mattress store brand, which would have been easy enough to state. I have a feeling they advertise it that way to get people in the door. I would have appreciated honesty in their advertising. Forgot to mention that the 50% off was the price the salesperson offered me before I even mentioned the Woody Show discount. So the special Woody Show discount would have saved me exactly $0 than if I had simply just wandered into the showroom. -------- 10/28/15 update: The day after I posted this review I emailed OC Mattress with my complaints and as of today (7 days later) I have not received a response from their customer service department. Had to write this review while my memory was still fresh.. Quite simply, our experience with OC Mattress was nothing short of superb. We strolled in earlier today hoping to replace our sagging Miralux so that we would no longer have to hear the squeak of the boogie-board foam in our box spring. Brandon greeted us from a distance, as he was currently working with other customers. We proceeded to test every bed that wasn't memory foam, and soon Brandon came over to help us out. He was knowledgeable about his products, and didn't force us into buying anything. My wife and I have differing preferences over firmness, so we had to try at least 15 beds before deciding on a Serta that worked for both of us. Brandon confirmed that he had the mattress in stock, and we could get free delivery that same day! Sold! We walked out the door feeling completely comfortable that we had made the right choice, both in our mattress and the store. The delivery was a breeze, George and his helper had the old stuff out and the new stuff in within 20 minutes. No mess, no fuss! I wish all deliveries could be this easy. They even brought both a standard 9" and a low-profile 5" box spring so we could compare the height as it would sit in our frame. Needless to say, we are extremely happy that we went to OC Mattress. We truly feel that we bought a great product at an excellent price. Hard to believe this location used to be a Denny's, but hey, here's to improvement! read more

Yelp's rating is accurate as can be. A true 5 stars for Orange County Mattress Los Alamitos branch. We had such a good experience that I regret all my past mattress purchases else where. Marlene is a great saleswoman. She is knowledgable about mattresses, friendly, and courteous. Pricing is better than many other places. Free delivery was done within a few hours. Their delivery truck was clean, well maintained. The delivery men were polite, efficient, and strong. Now about the Aireloom mattress, I would give Aireloom a 3 star rating at most. It is a good mattress, however, for such a luxury brand and Aireloom's pride of handmade craftmanship, the border stitching was not done correctly. The border seamstress didn't do a good job so my mattress is a little bend at one end. Where was their Quality Control during manufacturing? My husband told me to forget about it, as long as it does not sag or ripped, plus once we put the sheets on, no one will see it. I will! It's going to bother me. The imperfection of the mattress reminds me of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, "The Princess and the Pea". Plus the odor is so strong that it gives me a headache. I called Marlene today, and she told me not to worry. It is expected with brand new mattress, it will go away within a week. She even gave me tip on odor absorption. Isn't she wonderful? That is why I will 100% come back to OC Mattress in Los Alamitos for my next purchase. Definitely, not another Aireloom mattress though. read more

After 15 years, it was time for a new bed. I went to Orange County Mattress the Sunday before Memorial Day. Mike met me as I walk through the doors. I thought I wanted another memory foam bed, but he had me try out several different beds in several comfort levels. Mike listened to my concerns and offers opinions and suggestions. He wasn't pushy and left me alone to try out the beds until I found one I liked. I left the store with a new bed set to be delivered in less than a week. Delivery was easy and they arrived within the specified time. I received two calls from the driver letting me know that they were out and about and 10 minutes before arriving. They delivered the new mattress set to my bedroom, moved that mattress set that was there to the spare room, and haul away the old ones. Mike even called a week later to follow up to make sure all went well. I enjoyed my experience there and am recommending Mike to my friends for their mattress needs. read more

We went to Costco thinking we could find a budget friendly mattress in our price range that we can take home same day without hassle. Well, just our luck Costco mattresses were all out of stock (they were just there a week ago) and we thought we might have to wait until the following weekend to get a good night's rest. But wait! Over 10 years ago I bought my Aireloom standard king mattress from OC Mattress and it was great. I decided to downsize to a queen mattress and at the same time my sister wanted to upgrade her old mattress so we went shopping together. We ended up at OC Mattress again because their mattresses were so much better and they had reasonable prices. The salesman, Ed, was very patient as we tried all of his store room mattresses. My sister likes a super soft mattress and I like a medium firm mattress so I really do think we tried them all. Bottom line, Ed gave us great deals - me with a medium firm Aireloom queen and my sister with a super plush Aireloom standard king. We opted for the adjustable bases which we never had before and they make such a difference in allowing you to adjust your bed to just the right position for reading, watching TV or sleeping. I find elevating the head of the bed just a bit helps me breath easier (less snoring) and get a better night's sleep. Their pillows are really nice too. The delivery (free) was quick and they took away the old mattress and frame (yeah!). Go see Ed at OC Mattress and try out their beds. I'm betting you will leave with a great bed at a reasonable price. read more

Overall this place is alright. They do have good specials from time to time. We did order a sealy mattress here, and after 9 months it dipped in . We called OC mattress and they said all the warrenties are through the manufacturer and they couldnt do anything. An inspector came out and denied us a warrenty claim saying it didnt sink in enough meanwhile our backs hurt every night from this thing. After several calls and bad review threatening OC Mattress finally discounted our next mattress with them. They did not make that easy though. read more

Update. April 15. I have spoken with my sales person, Loren. She says the owner has the paperwork, but it takes time to provide the credit. This is approaching three weeks to get a credit, when Loren told me 7 to 10 days. I have had to file a dispute now with my credit card. When I return something to any other retail store, the credit is completed immediately, and it shows on my credit card that same day or the next. I can't understand the games they like to play. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! This is not the way a business should operate. Next step will be to file with the Better Business Bureau. Shame on OC Mattress for the games they like to play with other peoples money. read more

I was very reluctant to go to a mattress store to buy a new mattress. I had visions of pushy salespeople and overpriced mattresses. On our way home from Costco, my wife talked me into stopping by OC Mattress. Since we had all 3 of our girls with us, we agreed to just make it a quick stop to see what they had and compare prices. We were instantly greeted by Caleb when we walked in the door. A saleslady who was very kind (but I didn't catch her name) offered to let our 3 girls watch cartoons from one of the mattresses while we looked around the store. Caleb was very helpful and knowledgeable about the various mattresses. When we explained what we were looking for, he offered several suggestions and helped us fine tune the firmness we wanted. After checking out several different lines, including the really expensive brand names, we ended up settling on OC Mattress' in-house line, which was actually the first one that Caleb had shown us. We felt like we got a competitive price for the mattress, so we were pleased. Best of all, our girls were thoroughly entertained and very content the whole time that we were shopping. (Those are very wise salespeople that know how to keep customers' kids from killing the sale.) The mattress was delivered for free a few hours later, so we will be able to sleep on it the same day we bought it. When we first drove by it didn't look like it was open (Sunday afternoon) but I told my boyfriend let's just go see & thank goodness the door was open.
