If I could give this place 10 stars I actually would. I have been to my fair share of all you can eat sushi places. I have to say that orange fish exceeded my expectations. Upon arriving at 6:30 PM on a Sunday, there was about a 15 to 20 minute wait for a party of two. Not too bad for a weekend dinner! When it was our turn to be seated, we were welcomed with enthusiasm! There is either the option to order à la carte or do that all you can eat option. I would highly recommend that all you can eat option! What I really like about this place is that on the all-you-can-eat menu you can try as many items as you like. Unlike other sushi places they give you a small reasonable proportion so you're able to try a little bit of everything! Another reason why I am so in love with orange fish is because I have never tasted such amazing fish quality at an all you can eat sushi place! Each piece of carpaccio, nigiri, and fish was fresh and had absolutely zero fishy taste. I'd also like to mention that the rice to fish ratio is amazing. I will definitely be back! Orange fish is a true gem of Laverne and I am so excited that it opened!

My new favorite AYCE sushi spot! My boyfriend and I wanted to check out a new AYCE restaurant & chose Orange Fish due to the reviews. This restaurant did not disappoint and we're glad we made the trip from Tustin. We were greeted very warmly by the hostess, which we really appreciated and it put us in a great mood even before starting the meal. For AYCE, you order through an iPad (which was super convenient) and they provide you with a menu that breaks down the ingredients. Their premium items were excellent and very fresh. They even had jelly fish, which is incredibly unique and we enjoyed every bite. For the rolls, they were cut into 4-5 pieces, which gives you the ability to try more items. Huge plus! All rolls were well balanced and full of flavor. Nigiri was the perfect size & portion. Quality was superb. Ambiance was calm & relaxing. Very modern asian decor. Love it! We'll definitely be back for some amazing sushi again soon.

I took my daughter here because she got good grades but this is also a very nice spot for dates or just a night out. It has an upscale vibe inside but with decent pricing. The all you can eat menu is top tier! I was able to get everything I wanted without having to nickel and done everything. With tip everything came out to $100 for two people but it was well worth it. The service was great and the sushi was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.

Love love love this local gem!!! I came on a Wednesday around 5pm and the place is alive. People just love this place any day any time and how could they not? The food looks and tastes amazing. The service is swift and attentive. The vibe is spot on for any occasion. Orange Fish is my fave sushi spot!

We wanted to give another AYCE place a try and think we found our favorite spot. Price of AYCE is $36.99 a person. Parking can get little busy but we were able to find one behind the restaurant by the housing area. Walked in and server will ask if you are doing AYCE or al la carte. They will explain if its your first time dining there. Certain "premium items" are one time only per person. But those are always the best quality. The day of our visit blue fin tuna was good but their regular tuna was not as good as I anticipated. Its my favorite fish but I had to switch to yellowtail for the night. Rice ratio is good and sushi was cut pretty big pieces. I do like it when places use rice machine otherwise they will try to fill you up with too much rice under the nigiri. Overall experience was good and I don't know how long they will be doing the beer specials but we were abel to get a glass of Asahi for $3.50. I feel like compared to other places they definitely have little more options like fries. Although I love fries I didn't want my stomach to get filled up with fries lol Workers were super friendly and they food surprisingly came out super fast compared to other AYCE spots. They do time you 90 minutes and you can see your time left on the tablet.

I would have posted more pictures but i got so caught up eating i forgot to take them I LOVE sushi. I generally dislike AYCE sushi because you really are letting go of the quality for a cheaper price point. If i do get ayce, i normally go to x-fish. But i just moved job locations to San Dimas and like any good yelper, you're gonna scout the area and see what's up lol This page popped up on my search and i was surprised how good the reviews were! I immediately hit up my friend and we made plans to check it out. The place is located in an apartment/business center, meaning if you live there you can walk out and get food (super jealous) the parking was okay. I bet it's a pain if it's the weekend and busy but we went pretty early on a Sunday. The inside is decently sized. Not super big, not super small. You're given the choice of Ayce or normal menu. We always had to go AYCE. For the premium you get a set amount based on the number of people you have. I wanna say it's 2 pieces per person but i could be wrong. We obviously got all the premium stuff? The scallops were honestly my favorite! I was i had been able to order more but the rest of the sushi was great ! We also got some of their appetizers and fried stuff and it was all great. A good sushi place will have good crispy tuna rice and good baked mussels; if they don't... RUN lol The staff is very nice and you get to order on an iPad so it kinda saves the hassle of flagging people down. I like that music isn't loud and you can have a decent conversation with people and not feel like you have to yell to talk to each other. Overall a solid location, I'll definitely be coming back and redeeming myself with the pictures

Stopped in for dinner with a couple of friends. We were there kind of close to closing, but we're welcomed in with very friendly service! The restaurant is a good size and can definitely fit a nice crowd. They have a bar that people can sit at and plenty of flat top tables. They offer an AYCE menu, but we weren't hungry for that, so went with ordering a la carte. The menu includes a ton of sushi, Ramen, and Bento box type diner combos. We ordered gyoza, takoyaki, Ramen, and some diner combos with Karaage, katsu, teriyaki and california roll. Everything was really good! The price was in line with what I expected. I'm so glad to have this new addition to the neighborhood!

Lunch is just as exceptional as dinner here. They have some new offerings too! I love that they constantly evolve their menu. That way, we always look forward to something different with each visit - but the warmth, kindness and bend-over-backwards niceness of the staff remains the same. They noticed that I didn't dine there with my family last Mother's Day and they kept a few tokens for me, knowing that I'd be eating there again. They gave me those gifts today, and when I left Orange Fish, my heart was fuller than my belly. These people are just outstanding.

There is a great selection of sushi here and the regular all-you-can-eat menu had plenty of delicious options. We really enjoyed the variety of the rolls and the classic nigiri was fresh and flavorful. I will be sure to upload all the photos of what we tried because the presentation was also quite nice. My first impression was a bit confusing because I was asked to choose between the premium or regular tiers before I even saw a menu. I would have appreciated a physical menu or a chart to compare the two options first, but since I couldn't see the differences, I just stuck with the regular menu. The staff is very friendly and they do a great job of checking in on the table and keeping things moving. However, the ordering is done entirely through a tablet system mounted to the edge of the table. You handle all of the orders and modifications yourself on the screen. I usually tip between 20% and 22% when I go out, but it feels a bit high when there is so little server interaction. In this specific setup, the sushi chefs are clearly doing the bulk of the work. I really hope they are getting a generous tip out at the end of the day because the food they prepared was the highlight of the meal. It is a solid spot for sushi, but the service model and menu layout could be a little more transparent for first-time guests. I will definitely try it again and go there with more knowledge of their service structure.

This was honestly one of the nicer all-you-can-eat sushi spots we've been to, especially for the price. The quality of the fish really stood out compared to other AYCE places we've tried. Everything tasted fresh, and the sushi itself was well prepared instead of feeling rushed like it sometimes does at buffets. One of the highlights for me was the mussels & the rolls --they were absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. It was one of those dishes we kept going back for. The variety was great, the food kept coming out fresh, and the overall experience felt worth the price. The wait time wasn't bad--about 15 minutes--and you can easily sign up on the kiosk when you arrive. Ordering is done from a tablet at the table, which makes everything simple. Service was quick and friendly throughout. Overall, great quality for a reasonable price and we'd definitely come back. If you're looking for a reasonably priced AYCE sushi place with surprisingly good quality, this is definitely a spot I'd recommend. We really enjoyed our visit and would happily come back again.

Good AYCE. Glad there is Finally one in the area! The Hostess Rose was very nice. Explained the menu thoroughly. Service was good during 80% of the time we dined there. Items came out fairly quickly. Towards the end, service got slower. Waters were not refilled. It took a while to get the bill. Only thing I didn't like was that they recommended for us to try the fresh wasabi but did not mention that it would be an extra charge. We were given two dishes and when the bill came, we were charged for both. Also, we were told that we couldn't have any leftovers. The hostess mentioned one roll maximum is ok. However, one of the servers, one that did not assist us at all during our stay, said that every piece of sushi/ item had to be eaten before we could receive the bill and check out... OR we would be charged. We had about two pieces left and a piece of fried chicken left. That would have been ok at other establishments.

Wow! One of my Yelpies recommended this spot, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Easily some of the best AYCE sushi I've had! We were greeted right away by a super friendly host. After being seated, she clearly explained the AYCE process, ordering is done through a tablet, and you have a 90 minute window to enjoy as much sushi as you'd like. We tried a variety of rolls, including the Alaskan, Dragon, and Philly, and every single one was fresh and delicious. Everything came out quickly, and the quality was consistently delicious. If you're craving sushi, this place is definitely worth it, we'll absolutely be back!

What time does lunch price end and dinner price begin?

Hi! Thank you for reaching out. Our lunch end at 3 pm.

    Do you need reservations?

Nope! Walk ins are welcome :) but if you come during peak hours, be prepared to wait.

I've been to other Sushi restaurants where the music is overbearingly loud, does this place have loud music playing the entire time you're there?

No loud music. 🥰 The owners/management make sure that the music is audible but doesn't drown out conversation.

There are limited booth seating (about 4 booths), one larger table, and roughly a dozen counter seats. We were a party of 4 with another group of 3 expected at the counter, so we were told next availability would be 7pm. But the owner (also the sushi/master chef) stepped in and offered to squeeze in an extra chair for us at the bar. We happily said yes, and that pretty much set the tone for the night. The ambiance is a cute, homey Japanese-style spot. It's calm and quiet enough to actually have a conversation, which I really appreciated. The owner was also cracking jokes throughout the night and kept everyone entertained, which made the experience feel even more personal. Food highlights: * Eihire (seared stingray fin) - 9/10. Great drinking snack, just wish there was more. * Grilled Angus beef tongue - 9/10. Tender with a really good jalapeño sauce. * Hokkaido uni tray with roasted nori - 10/10. Favorite dish of the night, easily. * Chicken liver, gizzard, and hearts in sweet soy - 10/10. Super rich and flavorful. * Whole grilled seabass - 9.5/10. Perfectly cooked, but could've used more ponzu. * Sous vide + grilled duck breast - 8/10. Solid, especially with salt and hot mustard. The mashed potatoes and roasted veggies on the side were . * Deep fried eel with ponzu - 7/10. Decent, but didn't stand out compared to the other dishes. * Sashimi (amberjack, hamachi, toro, sweet shrimp) - overall great. The sweet shrimp and fried head were 10/10, but the hamachi didn't quite match the rest. Also wish they gave more ginger upfront. * Roasted 5 kinds of vegetables - 7/10. Tasty but a bit pricey for the portion. * Sea snail - the only dish we wouldn't reorder. Not bad, just not our preferred style. Service was excellent. Our server gave great recommendations, kept our water filled, and checked in often without being overbearing. This is a 5-star spot largely because of the owner. Super down to earth, funny, and clearly passionate about both the food and the experience. Parking is free in a shared lot with other businesses. It's a decent size, so should be manageable. Definitely recommend making a reservation (they only take phone reservations)... but even if you don't, there's a good chance they'll still find a way to take care of you. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.

Restaurant is located in a small strip mall, with a fair amount of parking. There isn't a flashy restaurant sign in front of the building, and once you step in, it truly feels like you are in a small, homey Izikaya in Japan. The restaurant only has a few booths, a few tables and bar seating inside, so reservations are highly recommended on a busy Saturday night. My boyfriend and I got lucky that they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes, because there was seating available at the bar. There is a physical Drink menu (sake, beer, etc.) and the food menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code with your phone. The waitress made suggestions about which dishes she personally liked & we ordered whatever she suggested, along with some of the things we thought looked good. *7/10 Toro w/ seaweed *8/10 Moriwase (chef's selection of sashimi) 2 each of 5 different sashimi. There was one cut I did not particularly care for. *7/10 chicken wings *10/10 Beef tongue-- Tender, but firm. Delicious, a must try! *10/10 Ankimo-- creamy and paired well with the ponzu and fresh seaweed *10/10 Fried Seabass-- they served the entire fish, which is rare. *10/10 Sous-vide Duck breast-- must try! *10/10 Nikomi stew--simple, but delicious! *10/10 Matcha Oolong Panna Cotta-- subtly sweet with a smooth texture. It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. For a small space, with three servers, it shouldn't be hard to attend to all the customers. The menu can be pricey, but food is delicious! Along with exceptional service, eating here is worth it.

HAKATA SET (Your choice of: Tonkotsu or Miso Ramen, comes with Mini Spicy Tuna Don, Chicken Karaage 2 pcs, Tsukemono) This was one of the set items for the lunch special. Chose the miso ramen. The miso ramen had a very strong white miso flavor. Didn't hate it, as I do love miso, but it was a little too much miso for my liking. Typical curly ramen and it was cooked well. Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set. Large tables in the back and small tables were closer to the front. Bar seats on the side. It was a medium-sized restaurant, but the layout made it feel larger. Clean bathroom too. PARKING The closest and most logical parking spot was the one right across from the restaurant. School House Garage on 33 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91105. Rates: $1.00 first 2 hrs, $2.00 for each additional hour. $12 for the full day. I liked the set menu, it was good for the price and I would like to return to try their other lunch menu items, whether it would be a set menu or a la carte.
