Came here as part of a birthday day gathering. A reservation was made approximately 2 weeks in advance and upon arriving, I was told there would be a wait for our table. I didn't understand why since we made a reservation and it had been confirmed the day prior. I was told that the rain resulted in many people not wanting to sit outside, which is fine, however, those who had reservations for inside should have been given priority. We ended up waiting approximately 30 to 40 minutes for our table to be ready. Once we were seated our server came over and took our order, even offered some suggestions. The calamari and spinach dip were delicious, highly recommend. We also had bottomless mimosas and they were great as well, the cucumber mint was my favorite. As for the entrees, they left something to be desired. It wasn't the greatest meal that I've ever had, but it also wasn't the worst. However, considering the prices and location, you would expect the best meal of your life. It's a great restaurant for the views, but I don't think you need to clear your calendar to make sure you get a seat here. Some of the entrees we ordered (in addition to the aforementioned appetizers) included the Denver omelet, Chicken and Waffle (pictured), Smoked Tomato Salad, and Hangover Hash. Our server Adam was amazing. Straight from the beginning he said Happy Anniversary which made us smile. His knowledge on the food and drinks were good suggestions as well. Each time I ordered the Paid Vacation drink Adam asked where I was going to this time. He had us laughing and smiling during our visit. My girlfriend and I arrived at 5 pm on a Saturday to learn that they were not accepting walk ins which is totally understandable. We were told the wait would be 2 hours so we put our name in, and drove around looking at some houses nearby. After we returned exactly 2 hours later, we were told it would be another 20 minutes. So we went to the bar and had some drinks. Matt was our bartender and he was awesome. Drinks were delicious. However after 30 minutes had gone be they told us it would be another fifteen minutes. So a 2 hour wait turned into almost 3. As a service industry worker I understand that wait times can be a little unpredictable however its hard to not be a little bitter about that on the receiving end. When we got to our table we were immediately greeted by our server jessica who was just an absolute ball of sunshine. But in customer service, what happened was unacceptable. We came in a group of three and it was one of ours birthday, and when we were asked if we wanted desert by the server, I said "oh it's actually one of our birthdays" and she was like "I know.." with so much sass. When desert came, we were only given one fork...there was 3 of us. This was done purposefully for sure. I had to call her and ask her for more forks as it's kind of hard to share a dessert with just one fork with three people. So when she gave the forks, I swear to god she literally just threw them on the table... we were all shocked. As if that wasn't bad enough, not once did she come check up on us while we were dining to see if we wanted or needed something else or like extra water or anything, and it was a slow night too so there's no excuse. Made reservations for 7 people recently and overall was disappointed. I know you're paying for the "view," but the lack of inconsistency in the dishes were beyond us. We ordered a LOT. Even for 7 people. Appetizers: got the seafood tower for 2 along with crab cakes, and calamari because half our party's not fond of seafood. Everything was ok except the crab legs. We all wondered if they were fake because it was the most gross crab legs anyone's ever had and not to mention almost everything tasted/smelled fishy. Moving onto the mains: we ordered a Sirloin steak, the mushroom pasta with shrimp, Chilean sea bass, snapper, short rib, and the steak progressive. Everything was ok with the exception that the sides or rice that came along with it were all either too salty or too sweet. Again, inconsistencies. Sides: We ordered 2 of the 4 cheese Mac n cheese, the worst Mac n cheese ever. Dry, bland, plain, not cheese at all. 2 of the broccoli sides, Caesar salad, roasted cauliflower (was just odd creamy and sweet) and last but not least crispy Brussel sprouts. Needless to say, just order basics here because it doesn't seem that this establishment specializes in anything in particular. Service with the young female was great so we opted to tip her 20%. Orange hill has always been a fan favorite of mine throughout the years. However after visiting yesterday for my birthday dinner our expectations for the restaurant have been lowered. Starting from the service last night it took almost 20 minutes just to take our order for drinks. Then another 20 minutes to take our order for entrees. By the time we actually received our entrees we've been at the restaurant for almost an hour and a half. As for the food it was good but not great. The star of the show was the corn bread that they provide complimentary. The prime rib was cold when it arrived to the table. However the short rib and roasted chicken were very flavorful. If I was to rate my overall experience for this day it would be a 3.5. Hopefully the next time we go we will be able to have the same great experience as the first time we visited to Orange Hill. read more

We made a reservation for a birthday celebration we got there and the place was packed, employees were all wearing masks. Our waiter arrive and was kind enough to bring us water and recommend restaurants famous foods. The place and the view was gorgeous and we were lucky to be able to see the outside. The heater in the fire pit were both on to keep us warm. We had shrimp cocktails , petite charcuterie ,Brussel sprouts and calamari for a starter. I chose this spot for the views; I am all about the atmosphere, which becomes the foundation of what the experience is going to be. I did my normal recon on the spot before I confirmed and found the reviews to be good and the pictures even better. Once I scoped the menu, I knew...I had to go. I am a sucker for a good short rib and some brussel sprouts so when I peeped them on the menu, I was sold. Who knew I was about to be blown away passed that point... I had reservations, and a special request to be seated outside. If you go before six, reservations are not necessary but after six, couples come in herds so reservations, I do recommend. The whole point of coming here, is to be able to enjoy their outdoor seating. My server was Jason, and I couldn't have picked a better server. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure my glass was never empty. He made some solid recommendations throughout the night and the meal was even better with the suggestions I trusted him to bring out. Let's start with the drinks. Bartender was nowhere near stingy with the alcohol and the Sugar Lips, which I ordered was hella addicting (I had to force myself not to order a third). It was a smooth grey goose vodka, Cointreau, PAMA liqueur, with some citrus shaken and then presented a nice shade of baby pink in a champagne glass with floating baby's breath. Perfection in a glass I shall call it. I ordered the Zinfandel Braised Short Rib that was served aside truffle whipped potatoes and broccoli. I also ordered a side of Brussel Sprouts which were tossed in a Thai chili glaze. I also got to taste the House Secret; their spicy sweet cornbread served aside some spicy honey butter. This cornbread was fire. The heat aside the sweet was perfectly balanced and the honey butter was so delicious. For dessert I chose the Café con Leche served aside cookies and cream ice cream and that was amazing...literally left nothing behind. The only suggestions that I would make is maybe have the beef chilling in the sauce a little longer and serve it a little wetter. No need for the broccoli on the plate, more potatoes would be better suited for this dish. Something I wasn't aware of before I arrived was the parking situation. Parking is valet only and cost $7. Luckily for me, they accepted cards, because I surely wasn't carrying cash. Overall, this is a beautiful place, has great food and service was outstanding. The Cons: FOH staff: was rude and dismissive and did not quite create a welcoming atmosphere. which IMO is the most important part of a restaurant. Baretneders: sold me the paid vacation but failed to tell me they were out of the Schwan flower till after I ordered it. I spend $32 dollars on an overpraniced drink that didn't include the gimmick that made it worthwhile. I would have appreciated had the bartender told me, hey we are out of the flower are you sure you want this? I would have said no and tried something else. So if you order the paid vacation make sure you check if they have the Schwan flour ahead of time. Otherwise hard stop. The Pros: The view. 10/10. We went later in the night and were able to catch the Disneyland fireworks. The was an unexpected surprise esp for my GGF's birthday. I recommend going later in the night so you are not dealing with the bright sun and fireworks. The wait staff, Marcus kicked ass, was super friendly, made good recommendations, and didn't try to upsell for the sake of upselling, His recommendations were spot on, and not just the most expensive options. Ask for Marcus if you go, he will treat you well. Food: Some items are better than others stick to fish and beef, I had the chillain sea base (the server recommended it) 10/10 and I would recommend it. My GF has the pasta and mushrooms with chicken (minus the fresh pasta) i could have done better, So if you go, stick to the fish, steak and beef. Those, are the star entrees Desert was medicore, I would try not the key lime pie I would try something else. read more

We dined here Christmas Eve and I have to say one of the worst experiences we've ever had. First the hostess was very rude- asked her we could move to the table next to table she was going to sit us- the table she was going sit us was by the door and kitchen and the table we were requesting was empty but with dirty dishes when we asked her if can move there after it gets cleaned her response was " it will get clean when it gets cleaned " . They seated us in a banquet room not even in the restaurant, the banquet room was cold and no Christmas vibes totally ruined our experience. A lot of reviews focus on just the food. However, there's much to be said about great customer service as well. While the food here is very good and I highly suggest it, what made it a five-star restaurant was its service. The manager's name is Rudy and the manager for the chefs is Greg. Dinner and to go orders start at 4 PM. The chef manager Greg was willing to accommodate my request to order to go and pickup at 1:30 pm. Rudy, Greg and Cindy all have a great customer service, great attitude and personalities. They are friendly and willing to accommodate customers requests. 5 . Gorgeous views. The place has a classy vibe from the moment you arrive (valet only, $7) up a steep and narrow hill. Koi pond and fireplace outside, and once you're out of the greeting area, the most incredible windows and views. We went for a celebratory brunch: shared the brunch platter for 2 which is gigantic. Everything was pretty good, but for me the cinnamon orange waffles were the winner, very flavorful. Everything else was good, solid, but nothing I'd crave or specifically return for. My family enjoyed the crab cake Benedict to rave reviews, and bottomless mimosas were tasty, they have 4 different flavors (pineapple jalapeno was my fave). Service was extremely friendly and jovial, but the slightest bit sweaty and inattentive. I wouldn't hesitate to bring friends or colleagues here for an appetizer and some drinks (they have nice full bar), to enjoy the views. The waitress was pleasant but overwhelmed. She disappeared after taking drink orders and only served drinks when we hunted down the manager to find out where the drinks were. Bread wasn't served until dinner, which took a very long time to get. It was apparent we were not having a good experience. They were supposed to bring a complementary dessert for a birthday, but it took so long, we finally went to the reception area to pay our bill and leave. The service overall was terrible. Food was 3/5 but views were stunning so it made up for the food. We came during the holiday season and it was PACKED. The valet was all full and even though our dinner was pretty early at 5:45pm, one individual from our party had to park at Albertsons where the restaurant shuttled people up to the restaurant from there because there was no parking. It took her probably almost 30 minutes to get here because the line to the shuttle was so long. I don't think this happens regularly just fyi. The views itself was gorgeous, you can see the Orange County city and it was beautiful during the evening with all the lights. This is one of my favorite restaurants cause food and service is always on point! Thats why i decided to have my wedding here! All of my wedding guests enjoyed and complimented the food! Covid wedding was crazy... it even rained on the day of the wedding... but we got through it! I HAVE TO MENTION AND SHOUT OUT TO CINDY! Cindy was INCREDIBLE! Even though it was a difficult and unpredictable with the Covid-19... She was flexible and got everything we need when we needed it.
