Not a huge fan of the food here, but the views are nice. Parking is on site, but there is a $10 valet fee. Once seated, you do enjoy the view. My friends and I dined at night so we were able to enjoy the city lights and even see the Disneyland fireworks. We ordered a lot of different things like the tuna over crispy rice, which was good. Coconut shrimp, which was OK. I ordered the tomato and burata salad, which was not good at all. The salad came with peaches that I was expecting for it to be grilled peaches, but these were canned peaches that were put in the salad that did not pair well with the dish. We also tried the butter fish, which was good, the short rib and the chicken. We ordered drinks, which I believe is what they're really known for. Very sugary for our taste but if you like sweet drinks, they have plenty to offer. What a wonderful restaurant! I brought my son here to celebrate his 40th birthday and they did not disappoint. From the excellent service to the unbelievable food and drinks and sitting outside watching the sunset - too wonderful for words. This place was a mix of super fancy and also casual. I felt confused walking up bc some people were dressed in formal outfits and others were in baggy jeans. So I guess I advise you dress for your occasion! I got the prime rib which was really good. The brussel sprouts were also so tasty and the complimentary cornbread was also very good. Gorgeous restaurant inside and out. As soon as you exit your vehicle the stroll to the front door has relaxing streams and a huge fireplace. We checked in at the front in the near empty restaurant and yet had to wait around 10 minutes before seated at a nice booth. I'm not sure why we didn't get a window or patio table in the empty restaurant but our booth was comfortable and still had a view. Brunch menu had a lot of tasty options. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict with a side order of Belgium waffle. Also their Dubai chocolate espresso martini. This breakfast was perfection. I absolutely loved it. One of the best smoked salmon benedicts I have had. Even the side of potatoes and roasted tomatoes were amazing. The waffle tasted like a combination of a churro and funnel cake. Pure heaven. I've never tried the trendy Dubai chocolate bar but my martini captured the essence of what I have seen in pictures. Legit or not it was delicious. My wife had a pineapple cocktail I can't remember the name of that she thought was delicious. My wife ordered the prime rib. The slab was so massive it completely eclipsed the side dishes it was lying on! It was ok. She thought it was bland and the few bites I tried were ok, not something I would order.. It was oddly chewy for prime rib. My wife took most of it home and doctored it up. It came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Our waitress was very friendly when we saw her but she was MIA most of the meal. I had an issue with a few items not matching the price on the menu and didn't notice until after I paid. For the price point and the reputation that this restaurant holds, I expected a little bit more in terms of quality. The service is nice, but not polished. There could be a little more attention to detail, like how servers at other fine dining restaurants do so. However, the food was great. We got the spinach dip, crab cake benny, and wagyu benny. I was surprised with a birthday dinner at Orange Hill Restaurant and it absolutely lived up to the hype I had built up in my head over the years. From the moment we arrived, the valet team was so kind and welcoming, which immediately set the tone for the night. Our waiter, Anthony, truly made the experience special. I had gone in completely set on what I thought I wanted, but after talking with him and trusting his recommendations, I ended up trying a few different things and I'm so glad I did. The coconut shrimp were incredible, but that marmalade? There are honestly no words for how good it was. It completely stole the show. We also ordered the charcuterie and cheese plate, and I loved that they featured cheeses from The Cheese Guys in Beverly Hills. It basically feels like a standard steak-and-egg breakfast, served on toast. My husband had the Hangover Hash - only to figure out why "hangover" is the name after it was served. It is a true recovery meal - high protein and carbs for recovery and that very salty taste to replace electrolytes. Hangover or not - this dish is not for us! The appetizer calamari mixed with onions and peppers was the only dish I actually liked. The mix was simple but worked well together. We waited 20-30 minutes for our reservation, and the service was slow. After the food came we had to flag staff down for assistance. It was a busy Saturday morning, and a celebration blocked off part of the dining area. The restaurant is located right over the hill - just as the name suggests. The entrance has a peaceful fish pond. It also has several function rooms for events. What a view! Easily the best view from a restaurant in Orange County. Decided to come up here for a date night and it didn't disappoint. Service was great, food was great, view is unparalleled especially at sunset! We started with the surf and turf deviled eggs and a wedge salad. Basically deviled eggs with a thick cut chunk of bacon and a fried piece of lobster on top. Definitely worth trying. The wedge had the same thick cut chunks of bacon on top with some blue cheese crumbles and ranch dressing. Delish! Then the star of the show, the steak progressive. Essentially 4 types of steak served on a platter with 4 accoutrements; a filet mignon, hangar steak, ribeye, and Wagyu zabuton, with a small grilled onion, pink peppercorn, sea salt, and a red wine jam with garlic in the middle. I love filet mignon but the best cut was definitely the Wagyu zabuton, it had so much flavor I would get just that cut next time. The whole platter was perfect. Also got a side of broccolini & broccoli just to add some green. They have a huge wine selection as well as a full bar with a bunch of interesting cocktails. I had a glass of their butter-fat washed Buffalo Trace that usually comes in one of their cocktails. It's worth trying by itself, very smooth with a unique flavor. Our server was on top of things despite having a bunch of tables to take care of. A manager even stopped by to check on things which is always nice because it shows they really care about your experience. It's been a long time since I've eaten at Orange Hill but I'll have to go back again sooner. If you haven't been you should check it out! read more

My friend's husband made reservations for 6:30, but when we arrived we were told the parking lot was full and had to park down the street at the college and take a shuttle back up to the restaurant. By the time we finally got inside, it was already after 6:40, and we still weren't seated for another 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the service continued to be slow throughout the night. I ordered the $58 ribeye steak but was served a New York steak instead. At first glance maybe some people wouldn't notice, but after a few bites the difference between a ribeye and a New York is obvious. Overall, I think Orange Hill is pretty overrated. The view is beautiful, and honestly that's probably the main reason to go. For the price and overall dining experience, I'd much rather spend my money at Brea Chop House. read more

I got the lobster tail as the main entree and it was delicious. The service was nice but did not come to my table frequently. Orange Hill holds a special place in my heart. Many years ago, we used to take my mom to their Mother's Day Brunch when she was still alive.They no longer have the buffet. Those moments are so cherished. We have only attended Orange Hill on special occasions since then. As your car pulls up, there is the valet area already waiting for you. As you walk to the entrance, get your camera ready, there are several areas that are perfect for pictures that include waterfalls and mini ponds. There is even an outside relaxation area with huge couches and an oversized fireplace! When you enter the restaurant, the reception area is already fully decorated for Christmas. Absolutely gorgeous! Our service professional Maliah was top notch amazing. She had such a vibrantly contagious personality. She was so welcoming and friendly. She was on point with recommendations and why she was recommending the dishes. She also went out of her way and offered to take family pics of us outside to catch the stars and view of the city. For cuts like this, I hope not to depend on sauces for flavor. 3 The broccoli and broccolini combo was well seasoned with a bit of kick. The broccoli section were mushy. 4 Porterhouse was cooked perfectly to medium rare, but there was a lack of seasoning and flavor. There were some bites with good flavor but not all the way through. Also, there were a lot of fatty areas. The raspberry sauce made a big difference to add flavor. 4 Oysters were fresh and yummy but they could have cleaned it better. There were a lot of sand or bits of shells. 5 Salmon very flavorful and cooked perfectly. 4 Lobster shrimp Bucatini great flavor but the noodles were just a lil overcooked. 3 Lobster we ordered 2 but one was very overcooked and mushy. This review is for a recent experience renting an event space at Orange Hill for a few hours to host a birthday celebration. Overall, it was a success, and the whole family and all the guests had a great time. EVENT DETAILS: We finalized the party details with Cindy Lee and Kalea Brown. They helped with a package deal that worked for us. On event day, we were able to arrive early to set up the space. The Starlight event space was perfect and spacious. Additionally, the nearly 180-degree window views are amazing, overlooking the city. Unfortunately, it was mostly overcast during our stay, but we did get a peek of the sun after lunch. Additional features we requested for an extra cost were a dance floor and a projector screen. Reuben and the rest of the staff were exceptional throughout our event, from setup to serving food and drinks, and behind-the-scenes work. FOOD: We had a choice of set meal options, which came with hors d'oeuvres, salad, main entrée, and dessert. After the appetizers and before the entrée, we had a champagne toast. * Appetizers: grilled chicken skewers & crispy coconut shrimp * Fresh-made bread and butter * House mixed green salad with vinaigrette * We had two entrée options for our guests: a Rosemary Bistro Filet and Pan-Seared Salmon. There's also a vegetarian option, but no one in our party requested it. * Dessert: Chocolate lava cake. Yum! I had a filet cooked medium, and it was a bit chewy. The sauce added a much-needed flavor and moisture. We didn't have a choice in how we wanted the meat cooked; most everyone had it cooked in the medium range. I heard the salmon was delicious. My favorite items were the juicy grilled chicken skewers and lava cake dessert. As part of our package, a two-hour bar service was included, which featured wine and beer. Javier, the bartender, was friendly and offered a nice selection of drinks. OTHER NOTES: * The event length was from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (including clean up) * Valet parking only, with the option to cover all party guest parking for a $9 fee per car * Additional fees for administrative and gratuity Is it worthwhile to plan an event at Orange Hill? Went to Orange Hill for my daughter's 21st Birthday. We arrived on time to realize that self parking was not allowed and valet was the only option. Dropped our car off and walked in to check in. We were a bit early and we were seated before our reservation, which was a great start. We were not given the option if we wanted to sit inside or outside, and I don't remember having that option when we made the reservation. The inside of the restaurant was very loud, felt like we had to almost be yelling to be able to hear each other at times. Our server came over and was very nice. She made several suggestions and it seemed like she was upselling us a lot, from bottles of wine to add-ons for my steak to desserts. It seemed like the food took forever to come out and when it did, the taste was really good for all of our meals, but we all commented that we wished the food was hotter temperature wise. I got a baked potato with my steak and had to bring it up it seemed that it had been sitting around for a long time because it was not hot. The server was able to get me a new potato within a few minutes, which was a little bit better, but was still not really hot. The server offered to take pictures of us after dinner with the view in the background what she did a very good job and the pictures came out great. Very thankful for her and how nice she was but after spending almost $500 on four people I'm not sure if we will be going back. The food had good flavor, the drinks were good and the wine was good, but I don't think it's worth what they charge. read more
