Came here to celebrate our friends' birthday. We brought a cake and asked if they could store it in the fridge and whether we could eat it there. The server told us we CANNOT cut our OWN cake and that there would be a $5 cutting fee. We were like, sure, since it's only a $5 "fee." But when the bill came out, it was a $5 fee PER SLICE, and we had 4 slices, so we had to pay $20. The server DID NOT EVER mention that it was PER SLICE. She just said there would be a fee, and she said it multiple times that there was a fee, not multiple fees. A normal person wouldn't think that it would be $5 per slice?? On top of that, we were trying to rush because of the two-hour time limit, and they took a good 20 minutes to cut our cake. OUR OWN CAKE that they didn't even have to make. While charging us $5 PER SLICE, they took like 5 minutes to cut each slice. So can we charge them a late fee or something? We were definitely gaslit into paying. She definitely knew what she was doing because when she left the bill on our table, she said again, "Here's your bill, and it includes a $5 fee." LIKE SHE SAID "A" $5 FEE. We also asked her at the end to confirm the fee, and she was like, "Yeah, this is normal for all restaurants to charge a fee per slice," and matter-of-factly said that this was cheaper than all the other restaurants. We would have been fine with this fee if we had known about it from the start, but this was just straight-up fraud. When our "lovely" server brought the cake over, she dipped her finger into one of the slices and almost dropped a slice on the floor. Today's experience with rise rooftop was extremely disappointing. We made a reservation for 8 people and one of our staff decided to join us for drinks. We showed up early and the restaurant was pretty much empty. We made the reservation for 8 people and they only gave us a 6 people seating table. We asked if we can sit at the table that has 8 ppl seats. With the restaurant almost empty the servers are being extremely difficult and keep on saying they have to go to the back to ask. We have a reservation!! What is the point of making the reservation for 8 and you only give us seats for 6? But when we say if we can sit a person at the end of 8 ppl table they said no, but it's ok for us to sit 8 at 6 people table they gave us? What a double standard and horrible! While at the same time kept us waiting and standing there. This is a company event which we made it really clear during reservation. And we told them we can simply add a chair at the end of table and squeeze but the server kept saying no despite the fact the place was more than half empty and demanded that if we add that one person there is a minimum order of $70 per person!! Come on, one order of food per person is reasonable but $70 are you kidding? This is a rip off!! All my coworkers and staff were all standing while they kept on going back to talk to someone for an extremely long time. this is very unprofessional and unaccommodating to customers. My mom and I came here again 7/3/26. We had reservations and were seated right away. The houses who brought us to our table was so kind and offered us blankets because it's cold. Sammie the busier was a lifesaver. He put our much needed heat lamp on right away. I ordered a strawberry virgin martini, but it came in a tall glass and was not good at all. Then our server disappeared so we had to give the manager my hot tea order. It's beautiful up there. However our server was a let down. The queso fundido was supposed to have chorizo, I think we got about two clumps of chorizo. The first mojito was all syrup. After two sips we sent it back. The second one came and it was better, but we still had to pay for the first one even though the waitress told us the bar tender was new. And the parking sucks -- it's $25 per hour! And they validate for only 2 hours. For whatever reason, the menu is pretty much appetizers only. The are 4 pizzas, I guess, if you consider that real food. But a number of us wanted to have a real meal. No can do. The pizza was good, but nothing amazing. Truffle French fries also good. Rise Rooftop has amazing vibes every time I come here. Not only is the staff incredibly nice and make for a good experience, every dish I've had here is immaculate. I originally visited Rise because of their yearly New Year's Eve event, which I have been going to for the past three years. Since then I have had the opportunity to come for both their brunch and dinner. I tried a variety of dishes and drinks at dinner and they were all absolutely delicious! ALSO, views are great. Something always changes when we visit Rise, some good some not so good! This is our 4th year of hosting a Christmas get together for friends and family, so we usually reach out about 2 months ahead to make a reservation. This last time I didn't hear back from anyone for a couple of weeks, I emailed two more times, and finally got a response and secured our date/time. I did request a table near the DJ, and we did get a great location. BUT, now when they have a private party, they rope off the lounge area near the DJ. They didn't do this before, so in the past, we were allowed (and others) to dance near the DJ and get close to see fireworks. There weren't any fireworks the night we went, so nothing lost there! Parking is validated for only 2 hours. We had our same server from last year, she's so great!! Always checked on us, made sure we had drinks, food, etc. The hostess girls at the check-in were also great, very nice and talkative. They didn't let us sit until we had half of our party there. The food - always excellent. We usually get the pizzas, sushi, charcuterie board, sashimi, fries, etc. Drinks - strong and tasty but the cost did go up. Our bill was a couple hundred more than usual, even with 2 of our party not drinking that night. DJ music was so fun, played a mix of decades and different type of music. We were seated at a high top table, and so the heaters were too close to our faces, when we tried to light them it was so bright and so we just did without them. However, my brunch experience today was top tier. My server Jacky was so kind and had great recommendations. My friend was running a bit behind but Jacky understood the vibes and had the cocktails flowing while I waited. The raspberry spritz $18 was absolutely refreshing and so tasty. I also did the mimosa cart where you can order individual mimosas or a bottle. I did the bottle of JCB for $48. Ulysses was serving from the cart and made great conversation. Once my friend arrived we ordered food. I got grandmas bacon waffle $26 and my girlfriend got the smoked steelhead hash $26. Found this place by accident, it's a roof top open element bar. In the evening, there's a spectacular view almost 360. It can get cold but their heatimg lamps will keep you warm. Reservations are required but we manage to walk-in and got a nice table for 4. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. We had a 4-piece Tacos plate, Ahi Poke Nachos, chicken wings, Avocado and crab salad. A light dessert, Churros which was a perfect way to end the meal. The drinks, the live dj and the dancing were all perfect. We ordered a couple of dishes but the only reason why I gave it a 4/5 was because the duck carnitas tacos were not all that great. I made a reservation which I recommended because it was pretty busy for a Tuesday evening. We were greeted and sat on a great table with a view of Disney. It's located across the street from Disney's California Adventure at the Westin's rooftop. It's a beautiful lounge setup and a great spot for shareables and drinks. There are couches, tabletops, and bar seating. Our server Q was outstanding. He was very welcoming, patient and informative. I appreciated how he answered our menu questions and he had some great recommendations. I started with a Passion Fruit martini but I didn't expect it to be too sour/citrus for my liking. I then asked for the, New Age and I loved it. So smooth. Poke Nachos are a must. So fresh. I would not recommend the chicken wings. Tasted like boiled wings. Get the banana Foster Tres Leche Cake and Churros with ice cream. So good! A highlight was watching the fireworks from our seat. Most people got up to take photos and watch the show. It seems to be more of a bar than a restaurant, with most of the food being sharable rather than individual plates. There is a two-hour limit on table from the time your reservation begins, and they will come around and let you know that your time is almost up. Parking is validated for two hours and costs $5 for every 15 minutes after the two hours. Our server was great, and allowed me to order the Tropical Hideout cocktail as a mocktail which I really appreciated! The drink was fine but nothing special. Not only was there a DJ BUT the best perk imo is that you have a great view of the Disneyland fireworks show, which kicks off at 9:30pm We got a round of drinks and then the fireworks show started. Mmm the butter with the fennel and red salt plus orange marmalade was the perfect bite. I kept coming back to that butter with my fries. So onto the fries, got the Truffle fries and it was a good size amount to be shared. Ate them all up! And lastly the chicken tinga tacos (qty5), they were loaded with chicken and pretty flavorful. The espresso martini is very tasty and we got complimentary birthday cake since we were actually all celebrating bdays! The place was pretty busy between 9pm-10pm, then emptied fast. One dish could have easily served two for small eaters. Orange juice was naturally sweet.
