Good food, poor service and a wonderful view = 3.5 stars This was the destination for my wife's birthday dinner on a weekday night. We sat out on the patio at sunset on a warm evening where the view is undeniably gorgeous and romantic. Lots of birthdays and anniversaries were being celebrated. We ordered drinks - me a smooth Sonoma cab and she a martini. Once those arrived we made our meal selections. I found it odd that they don't serve bread here; it would be nice to have something to go with the wine (I guess they want you to order the charcuterie). After 20 minutes our salads came out. Nothing exceptional about my "local greens" salad but that's all it was - greens. Thirty minutes after finishing our salads our entrees arrived. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and was tender, flavorful and juicy. I was quite pleased. The accompanying potatoes and veggies were delicious as well. A three scoop sorbet (pina colada, lemon-lime, and honey) was chosen for dessert. They also served a complimentary birthday mousse which I tried - peanut butter & chocolate - which was delectable. We tried the sorbets and two seemed to taste the same. After finishing we asked again what the flavors were and our waitress said, "oh, I forgot to tell you they couldn't find the honey one so they gave you two pina coladas." Which to me defeats the purpose of the whole three scoop, three flavor experience. I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd been told. Our waitress was nice but seemed to have too many tables so our service was lacking. We could never find her when we needed something (like steak knives for our entrees or to refill an empty water glass) so had to flag down support staff. She also brought us the wrong bill (actually someone else's change) and it took us forever to find her to get the right one. Kitchen seemed to be slow too. Lessons could be taken on service from pretty much any other steakhouse in OC. If not for my wife having an absolutely wonderful time and thoroughly enjoying her meal you'd only be seeing 3 stars. We had an absolutely amazing dinner!!! I had been to the restaurant one other time before for a business event a couple years back but my fiancé had never been there. I've seen the restaurant on social media many times, and the food and the views looked absolutely amazing. Upon our visit recently, we were blown away beyond expectations. The service there is top tier and everything, from their drinks, to their appetizers, main courses and desserts are incredibly delicious! So much thought goes into both the preparation and the presentation. The ambience was also incredible, from light background music to the attentive staff that made sure that heaters and fireplaces were running promptly when the sun went down. We felt well taken care of. All the staff was incredibly attentive to us as well. From the parking valets, to the hostess at the front, the bartenders and of course are amazing server for the evening. We felt in very good hands, and they were able to anticipate a lot of the needs that we had before we even said a word! The best part, I had reached out to them ahead of time to let them know that I was planning to propose that night! Despite being a little nervous about the evening, speaking with the staff, I felt a lot more confident as they were quick to set up and accommodate my plans for the proposal. They were pros! Because of them it made for a memorable night, and my fiancé was completely wowed and blown away! We will remember our night for always, and will be back many times in the future. Came here for anniversary dinner. Service was fantastic. We can thank our server Anthony for being such great help. Refilled the wine, consistently checked up on us without being overbearing, explained the meals well and gave great recommendations. My prime rib was cooked perfectly to how I requested. We also had the cornbread, salmon, and Caesar salad. All were exceptional, but was not a fan of the Caviar Frites. We were seated in a corner booth looking out to the view, which was perfect enough privacy. Overall great experience and worth your buck. Orange Hill has gone down hill. It is no longer fine dining. I recently took my family to this place after being a regular guest for 20 years with a 5 year hiatus. The hosts are incompetent and rude. They do not honor reservations or treat their guests with class anymore. They overbook their tables and make guests with reservations wait for over an hour to be seated. When inquiring about the wait the host manager put words in my mouth and gaslit me refusing to see the actual problem. We had reservations why aren't we being seated? Trust me, I was calm, she was ignorant and unwilling to try to understand. The floor manager thought bringing sparkling wine "on the house" would placate our experience. What an insult. I would have rather he accommodate our reservation. The view is great but you cannot sit at the patio anymore unless there is a reservation and even when there is one they won't guarantee you a spot. Inside is loud and no longer a romantic atmosphere. I had to shout to talk with my family members and left with a migraine. My dinner was overpriced for the mediocre flavor and incompetent managerial service. I remember the years when Orange Hill was elegant and guests were treated with high priority, dignity, and class. We might as well have eaten at some chain restaurant with the low level service and treatment we got. What an embarrassment. Where can you go for fine dining anymore if you can't go here? I got a last minute reservation at Orange Hill and I cannot believe that this was my first time there. The entry way of the restaurant is beautiful and the view from their patio is astounding, you can see over all of Orange County. The staff was very kind to us and our server, Beth, was so helpful and friendly. We started with their crab cake, the portion was small but it was paired with a Brussel Sprout salad that complimented it very well. Then for the main course we had the salmon which was cooked just perfectly paired with mashed potatoes and the steak which was delicious. We came to Orange Hill for our anniversary dinner and had a fantastic time. Our waitress was so kind and the food was amazing. Regarding COVID, we sat on the patio and were spaced out super far from the neighboring tables. It felt very safe. The only "issue" is the patio chairs are pretty uncomfortable but I'm sure they removed the cushions due to COVID. Also, there is a review on here accusing them of racism. I know Yelp plans to flag businesses accused of racism so if that happens to Orange Hill I want to say we had no issue and witnessed no issues. There were all races seated near us too. read more

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The ambience was great and the views are very nice. Our waitress, Emily, was not very professional. We wanted straws and she brought them to us with her bare fingers! They usually wrap them in a tissue or napkin. Then she took away our knife after the appetizers. She brought another knife, but again, without putting it on a plate and holding it with a napkin!!! She also filled the water glasses and poured the water so fast that it spilled over on the floor. For a fancier restaurant like Orange Hill, this was odd! In a local diner, I could see the above happening...But Orange Hill?!!! The cauliflower appetizer was very basic and tasteless. We asked for salt, pepper and hot sauce to give it a little taste. The manager (the lady in the green dress), was very nice, helpful, and quick to bring us what we asked for. The salmon BLT was above average, but I think it should have been served with some ketchup on the side for the fries; although, I don't even use ketchup...but I thought it'd come with it, anyway. The Florentine omelet was above average and the potatoes were done just right. Parking is valet only and it's $9. I'd go back, but hopefully service will be better! read more

I Can say the only good thing was the waitress and the bar tender were very nice and always on top of everything if it was just for them I would give the a 5 start but on the wedding coordinator she would get a 0 , they need to have more trying , and have more manners on talking to please , there not always right like when she was giving my friend attitude that she forgot stuff ... Theres not alot of beer options but I don't drink beer that much so I don't mind it . The views here never get old it's always as breathtaking as the first time. They recently renovated/remodeled the entire place and it looks so good! They brightened it up and revamped it really well. We went on a Saturday night...and shorts and flip flops seem to be the norm. I just remember it being way more high end. White table cloth service. Not anymore. I felt like I was dining at Chilis. Food: Started off with a delicious calamari. We ordered the smoked tomato salad which was disappointing. We got a few tiny pieces of tomato and it didn't taste smoked at all. Our main entree was the seafood tower which was terribly disappointing. I do NOT recommend. The oysters and shrimp cocktail were nice, but everything else was skimpy and just not good. Came here to celebrate an anniversary called and made a reservation on a Saturday table for two. I got the text message to confirm approximately two hours before my reservation. I get another text that my reservation was moved so I called the restaurant & told them that that was not me and to change it back and they did but I got a third text message and the reservation information was still wrong. Once me and my fiancé got to the restaurant, we were told that the parking lot was full and we had to park about a mile away. A Mercedes party bus picked us up and took us to the restaurant. Although the idea of being in a part bus sounded like fun, it was very uncomfortable because we were squished and not to be mean but there were people there who had toooo much cologne and perfume, which was not something I wanted to deal with so that was a inconvenience. It made my head hurt. Once we get to the restaurant we were told that they need to see about our sitting because we preferred outside sitting we sat next to the bar and ordered drinks. I had my Bridal shower here and first off I do want to say this place is gorgeous. Very upscale feeling. However, I got sick from eating there. I had some mimosas and hangover hash. As soon as I left I started feeling sick and nauseated. All day yesterday the nausea would not subside. Today I woke up still feeling sick and my stomach is hurting so bad and my daughter said she woke up with a stomach ache too. I really wanted to like this place and come back but the food isnt that great and the rest of my bridal party was not impressed with thier food either. My eggs were not poached but was cooked all the way through and the overall taste wasnt great and I feel this is why I am feeling sick. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday yesterday! They have indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor seating gives you a beautiful view during the day or night, fire pits are outside as well. This place does have mandatory valet which you have to pay for where they park your car no more than a minute from the entrance. Food was pretty good, nothing crazy but good. Our waitress was wonderful! She was very kind and checked up on us periodically. There was a moment where we felt like our food was taking a long time to come out and our waitress noticed before we asked and she went to check up on it. Minutes later our food came out.
