The real deal. None of that fro-yo, fat free, sugar free, Coldstone nonsense with a million different toppings. You don't need any toppings on this stuff because it's excellent on its own. They have some wacky flavors, which I like, and every time I've been there (5 to 7 times) they have some interesting weird flavors plus some more classic ones. Seems like the ingredients are pretty legit, for example in the Rocky Road there's real marshmallows and nuts, all different sizes and without the freezer burned texture you get in bigger chain places (that means they're cut fresh by hand). I got a Key Lime that was tart and clearly had sauce made from real limes, the Honey Bourbon is probably my favorite as it has an intense boozy flavor with crunchy sugar-and-salt-coated pecans. Describing that flavor makes me want to go get some right now. A great place to go after hitting the beach on Stickney Point. Four bucks for a giant scoop, they will split a scoop into two flavors. It's more expensive per serving than buying ice cream at the store, but this ice cream is better than the ice cream at the store. Get the Honey Bourbon. The Crazy Cake is good too. We ventured into The Orange Octopus one evening after a lousy dinner on the southern end of the key and we needed some excellent ice cream to sweeten our mood. The Orange Octopus did not disappoint. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful, and the ice cream choices were very good. I had the toasted coconut, which was delicious, my daughter had the cake flavored and my son had the strawberry - which they devoured, even on a full belly. The indoor seating area was clean and chill - fun posters of Siesta Key from long ago and nice rattan chairs to sit on. As well as ice cream they also offer key lime pie, cookies and candies. This was a nice ice cream shop. At about 9:30 the line was out the door. After waiting about 15 minutes we were able to place our order. The staff was very friendly and explained that the ice cream is homemade by the owners parents. The cookies and cream tasted great when I tried a sample, but lost a lot of flavor in the milk shake. It was also about 6 dollars for a shake which is a bit high. Very clean place. I would recommend it to others. read more

The place is so cute to go with family and friends but it's a little small. There is also outdoor seating. They have a wide variety of flavors for whatever you like. Great ice cream !!! My boyfriend & I have been here every day of our vacation (him sometimes more than once). The cookies and cream is to die for!!!! In the morning they have bagels and coffee. The bagels are pretty good and reasonably priced. I've gotten ice coffee pretty much every day from here (party because it's very convenient from where we are staying). This place is a hidden treasure! Let me just start with- WOW!! The moment we walked in the door we were all wide-eyed about how AMAZING it smelled in this tiny place. Yes, it is small, yes, it is hidden behind a well-known restaurant, but we will never bring family to the #1 beach in America and not suggest this place afterwards ever again! Our group ordered the Gator Tracks, Kentucky Honey Bourbon, Butterscotch Blast, Birthday Cake and Superman. Every single one of them were delicious, and the Birthday Cake and Ooey Gooey Brownie ice creams come with giant chunks of cake and brownies! Our boys chose single scoop Superman and they were not disappointed with single scoop size. My 70 year old mom, myself and 3 children went here and were sick for a full day. The ice cream actually tasted bad which I don't know how that could even be... I did t know ice cream could be bad. I mentioned to the girl that created my sundae and rung me up, she rudely spoke over me. My daughter even took note of the young girl speaking over me and how rude she was.
