Small, cozy Japanese spot with a laid-back atmosphere. Worth visiting if you're into good quality sushi. The sushi is fresh and well-prepared, but the other menu items are fairly average in comparison. The location is convenient and easy to get to, and parking is plentiful, so that's definitely a plus. Good customer service too.

Had a craving for some loaded sushi rolls and came across Orange Roll on Yelp. Their menu has a good variety of non-traditional sushi rolls, along with regular rolls, nigiri, and appetizers. We got these rolls: - Sunrise - spicy tuna, avocado, shrimp tempura inside and peppered albacore on the outside - Stinky - imitation crab, avocado, cucumber inside and albacore, fresh onion, and garlic butter on the outside. This one was our favorite. I enjoyed have the garlic butter on the outside. I haven't seen a roll prepared like this before! - Midnight Sun - imitation crab, cream cheese, avocado inside and baked salmon on the outside. Since it's baked, this roll is served warm. This one is richer/creamier since it has the cream cheese and no raw fish. My only complaint would be that there are a lot of gnats inside. We had to keep swatting them away from landing on our sushi. Other than that, we enjoyed the food!

Came here around 5:40pm last Saturday and were seated right away. The place was packed by the time we left. We had dined here or bought takeout many times before because of their proximity and value. Service was always friendly. The food quality and taste was just average. I had the grilled mackerel bento. Unfortunately, my fish was burnt and it was quite small. Miso soup was very bland as well. The salad, gyoza, tempura, California rolls were fine. It's a lot of food for $20! My husband liked his spicy tuna roll and crunchy roll combo, and our daughter enjoyed her Orange special roll. Our 3 other family members each got a beef teriyaki bento, which was their goto option every time. Until next time!

We usually do take out but today tried dine in. It wasn't busy and the hostess was still very attentive. Charashi bowl was good as always. The noodle soup and roll special were both huge portions. I appreciate the california rolls were adequate and not skinny pieces. This place has always been consistent with fresh fish presentation and deliciousness. That's why we've made it our go to sushi place.

Seafood Ramen and California Roll - Noodle Combo

Having grown up with Japanese food, I'm often not one to go out of my way for it, but I'm glad I gave Orange Roll & Sushi a try on a rainy day. The greeting was a tad awkward and slow, since I visited during the middle of the afternoon. The seating environment was very woody, and the lighting was just enough to neither be dim nor bright. After sitting down, I ordered their Noodle Combo (Seafood Ramen) with California Roll, not expecting much at this price point. After all, I just wanted a quick bite. To my surprise, the seafood ramen had well-cooked squid and mussell - and even a fair amount. The ramen could have been instant, but the texture was amazing, too. The California Roll was rolled with perfection. The avocado, cucumber, and imitation crab were tucked so perfectly. The fluffy rice hugged them with a layer of seaweed, and every bite was like a delicate bite of rice with the most perfect portion of entrees.

Really great sushi. Have been here on multiple occasions. Service is always nice and quick. Sometimes the servers take a while but not too long. The inside is small but designed well overall very great sushi spot and the miso soup is very flavorful. The salmon roll is amazing with lots of different flavors.

Soup and roll Combo (Plain Udon + California roll

Had a meeting nearby and figured this place would have good lunch specials! They ended up having all day combos for $15. The combos come with different variations of rolls and soups! I got a plain udon and California roll. The soup was really flavorful and the cali roll didn't disappoint. The prices were great and they even had teriyaki and bento bowls for good prices. Food was good and the servers were super attentive. If you want to stop in for a quick bite at an affordable price check this spot out!

Food: Amazing and consistent compared to other Orange Roll & Sushi locations. The service was a little on the passive side. The decor and ambiance does feel more like a sushi restaurant than the Anaheim location but I will still go to other locations over this one. Be aware of the closing hours. It says 9:00pm but I saw a customer come in at 8:30pm and the customer was told that they were closed.

    Chirashi Bowl
    Adrienne P.

Orange roll never disappoints. I've ordered many chirashi bowls at different restaurants and their's is one of my favorites for the price and quality. The fish is fresh and they season the rice with sesame oil and furikake so yummy! The perfect lunch if you're looking for something that isn't heavy. This time it came with toro that was oh sooo buttery and soft, a huge bonus because no one ever puts toro in their chirashi!!! The service is always quick, attentive, and the staff is always very friendly. This location used to be Harima, I've come here since I was a toddler and I'm now 27...It was tough to say goodbye, however, Orange Roll has done a great job of upholding a reputation of great food, service and ambiance. Thank you to the staff for always making it a great experience we continue to come back for.

Casual sushi spot with big fish pieces and very fresh! I had: 1. Himalayas roll - spicy tuna, cream cheese jalapenos. One of chef's special rolls 2. Orange roll - salmon, avocado, cucumbers 3. Sashimi: yellowtail and salmon 4. Soft shell crab

Before we've come to this place before and liked it so much that we were back. It's a casual inexpensive sushi place with great specials. The decor is simple but definitely Japanese inspired. I really love the chalkboard menu with pictures. We weren't terribly hungry and just needed a snack to curious over to dinner, so we got a couple of sushi (spicy tuna roll and salmon skin roll) and an appetizer - - mixed yakitori. Just as I had to remembered, everything was delicious.

    Sandi I.

Been going here for years! The food is consistently amazing. I always forget to take photos because the food is half eaten before I remember. Service is quick and friendly. The miso is savory and delicious with plenty of tofu. All the rolls are wonderful. The tempura is crispy on the outside and Dunn just right on the inside whether it's shrimp calamari or veggies. Dipping sauces just right. This is a family friendly local place. Our go to family gathering place. The only thing it lacks is a sushi bar.

The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. I like that the onigiri was fresh and the filling. But there is a significant amount of rice and very little of the filling. When I arrived around 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday, the restaurant was relatively clean and completely empty. The tables looked fairly new and had a simple, utilitarian style. I walked up to the counter and asked how the promotion worked. The owner pointed out the rolls on the menu and asked whether I was dining in or ordering to go. After telling her I was dining in, I looked over the menu. Since I don't eat much rice, I was immediately drawn to the three no-rice rolls, which were $16 each. The specialty rolls also looked good and were priced between $16 and $19. I asked to order three of the no-rice rolls using the promotion. That's when the owner told me those rolls were not included. The sign outside says "any two rolls," yet apparently there are exclusions that aren't disclosed. Since the no-rice rolls are in the same price range as the specialty rolls, I asked why they were excluded. The owner didn't offer any explanation--she simply said no, then walked away from the register and back into the kitchen. I found that interaction disrespectful and a clear indication that they weren't interested in earning my business. Customer service matters, and this experience left a very negative impression. I recommend choosing one of the many other restaurants in the area that value friendly, transparent service. Advertising a promotion as applying to "any" rolls while excluding certain items without clearly stating that feels misleading.

These are the sort of eateries I seek out when I go to Japan as they are affordable, filling, and satisfying. Just as they do in Japan, they have a large display case on the wall which is filled with a couple dozen realistic plastic displays of the various plates they offer. It makes it easy to see what you'll be getting and helps me make a decision. I was there for a late lunch and ordered the pork katsu curry plate and also, for an additional fee, added an omelette on top of the rice (omu-curry). I was given a pager by the friendly fellow at the counter and my meal was made in less than ten minutes. I sat and ate in the clean, comfortable food court. The pork was good quality, very tender, with a crunchy panko coating. The rice was done perfectly and the omelette on top was delicious with a buttery taste and soft texture. I loved the curry; it had excellent flavor and complemented the pork well. There were also some slices of hard-boiled egg and some bits of radish on the plate as well as a cabbage salad. My single complaint is that the salad had no dressing so was rather "blah" compared to everything else. I call these places fast-food katsu. They are all over Japan. Not as fancy as high-end katsu restaurants, where the pigs have been massaged daily before becoming tonkatsu, but satisfying comfort-food versions. To this end, this place delivers flawlessly. I found myself really trying to dig deep to reach the noodles. By the time I got to them, it felt like a lot of the curry had already got soaken up. Clean, bright atmosphere inside. No wait at 12:15 p.m. today. A group of 4 middle school boys sat behind our booth and did a similar thing, sharing their entrees and bantering in a lively hilarious manner. The staff was friendly and helped us choose a fourth item. Weekday lunch special is buy two and get a third item half off! We prdered the giant chicken katsu on curry rice, the Dawa chicken, the dduk bokki, and bibimpap with bulgogi. All of the dishes came out piping hot and perfectly made--so many sweet, salty, spicy flavors and plenty of textures to enjoy. I appreciated the plentiful cold water at the table to accompany this flavor-packed dining experience. We asked for seconds of the cucumber kimchi because it was also so good. My favorite was the bibimpap with bulgogi--sooo scrumptious. The giant flattened chicken katsu was impressed as promised. And we even had leftovers to take home! If you get a chance, highly recommend!!

Incredible. First time here and it did not disappoint! Will be back!!…read more We got the army Ramen and the Dawa chicken. The sauce on the chicken is nothing short of amazing, it satisfies the palette in an incredible way, and the Bonchon that accompanied it was extra good. That was my first time having pickled radish and I will now seek it out at other Korean establishments. The army Ramen was also good though they were a little stingy with the cheese. There was like half a slice on it. I want that thing nasty and oozing. We got seated right away and the hosts were very friendly. It's a pretty small place with roughly 10 tables. The noise level was a little loud. 10/10 would recommend

What I love about this place is its simple, comfortable atmosphere -- reminiscent of a retro Japanese restaurant out of the 1980s. The sake and Japanese beer selection is a decent size and the menu has enough variety that you could come back multiple times and still find something new to try. We ordered two sushi rolls and something called a Monkey Ball -- a mushroom stuffed with tuna and deep-fried. Sounds straightforward, but it was genuinely delicious and even a little elegant-looking on the plate. The sushi was well-prepared with nice presentation, and it tasted clean and vibrant -- I know everyone defaults to "fresh," and yes, you'd hope any sushi restaurant serves fresh fish, but there's a quality here that earns the word. Besides sushi, there were a lot of other created items they had on the menu that I was interested in, but I felt like sushi this evening. They're open until 1 AM, which tells you something: this place is popular and well-liked enough to keep the lights on late. I passed them 1000 times and I'm glad I stopped by. Come give them a shot. What's not to like. Quiet area, no traffic, plenty of parking.

We were staying at a relatives place nearby and this was about a mile walk from our place and decided to get takeout. This store is a hidden gem and the food was very good for what we paid. We got the bulgogi beef bento and the grilled unagi bento. Both of them were very filling and came with some banchan (korean side dishes), mixed tempura, miso soup, rice, and some sashimi. The sashimi was actually very good and was pleasantly surprised that it came with the bento meal. The workers were friendly as I came in and mentioned my name for pick up. Overall our experience with takeout was phenomenal and would definitely come back again for dine-in.
