The decorations are retro and add to the whole ambience. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food itself comes in huge portions and is delicious! To start out we stood outside for 10 minutes before we were seated because the server was busy. When we were seated the whole section was empty. Placed our order and the pasta was dry and luke warm. So we asked for more marinara. We had three bowls of all you can eat pasta and every time it's had less and less sauce. Last bowl was pretty much just pasta water. You would think since we ordered more sauce they would make it saucy but they used less. Also ordered the ziti in a bread bowl. The bread bowl was so hard and inedible. Third times a charm, but not for me. In the time I've lived in Tucson, Oregano's always had very clever advertising. I have gone to two locations and this is the second time I've been to this Speedway location, The first time I went to a retirement party and had a wonderful time with the group of 10 people. On impulse we went to dinner at probably their busiest time 530. I had a hankering pizza or some pasta. I started off my meal with a cocktail. I ordered the "pain reliever"and I loved everything about it. Then we ordered a appetizer of cheese chompers, which we gobbled up. They were short staffed, so our food took time to arrive, and was served after it had cooled down. I ordered a lasagna, described as a spinach lasagna with meat sauce; it was filled with Italian sausage which I am allergic to, so I couldn't eat my meal. My husband got chicken piccata ; his chicken piccata coating was over cooked and because he has braces, it was too hard for him to eat. So we ended up switching entrées out of necessity. Our waitress was also the only bartender so was hustling. We saw five employees in the whole restaurant. With the Christmas holiday and Covid going around, they did a great job getting everyone fed, I wouldn't say we had good service. We got no refills on drinks. We had issues with both of our entrées and had to switch. Once I realized how short staffed they were, it was pretty impressive I got a cocktail at all. It's a good thing that we ask for water. The atmosphere was pretty wonderful. We weren't rushed when we were ordering and at the time we were placing orders our waitress was great. My last visit to Oregano's was probably seven years ago and I am thinking I don't need to return any time soon. If I did, I'll definitely get a cocktail , and I'll definitely get the cheese choppers again. read more

Many have recommended this restaurant but this was our first time and I have to say it was worth it! So glad we came here for lunch. Noticed it gets pretty busy so thank goodness they take reservations. We got here before the crowd and service was friendly and fast. Such a cute place too. I stopped into Oreganos for dinner after being recommended it while traveling in Tucson. We ordered the original bollo pasta with sausage and meatball, as well as the Zany Ziti bread bowl. Both meals were on par with what we expected for an affordable price and were tasty enough to leave us very happy and full. Keep in mind the portions are large! The service was very friendly, and the restaurants décor and music gave a comforting homestyle diner/bistro feel that added to the experience. The restaurant had continuous traffic and did not appear to have a lot of seating so I would recommend making a reservation if possible. However, our party of 2 was still seated in about 25-30 minutes during dinner time. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with my visit to Oregano's. I've driven by the restaurant on Speedway Boulevard many, many times, but finally decided to give this place a go. I don't know what I was expecting, but what it is is much better than what I had in my mind. Anyway, I ordered a gluten-free chicken, black olive, and mushroom pizza and the Pan One-O deep dish pizza. I also ordered the garlic cheese bread. The garlic cheese bread is excellent -- the bread is soft and it is very cheesy. The Pan One-O is what I expect in a deep-dish pizza and it did not disappoint. Thick, lots of toppings, lots of cheese, and the sauce on top. The gluten-free pizza, for my partner-in-crime, was the best gluten-free pizza she's had in Tucson thus far. Also, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is designed with a very Italian motif and theme. Brightly colored with Italian restaurant appropriate music play. Then processed to sit us at a high top. The high top could not have been any more slippery. My mom fell off trying to even get on the stool. No manager came. No employee came! Patrons helped her up. Still no manager. I could push the entire table with my pinky. EXTREMELY UNSAFE. Mentioned how utterly unsafe the set up was to more than 1 employee. They didn't seem to care at all. Wowza! I got the big rig pasta, the guaca-Tony and moms Mac and cheese. The guaca-Tony was decimated before I could even get a good picture. It was delicious and the portions were huge. The food itself was an over 7/10. I had 2 entrees one being the Zany Ziti pasta and the other being the Jumbo wings. The wings was amazing huge and well cooked an overall 9/10 with the fries. The pasta looked the part and was very well served however it lacked flavor. The service was outstanding the servers are very involved and patient. I love oregano's! My favorite is getting take out to avoid the insane crowds that's can form. The food is constantly delicious. The ambiance is great if you do make it inside to eat. Hostess service wasn't great. There was no one at the hostess stand, and we had to go into the restaurant for someone to say they would go find her. I watched for the rest of our time there, and she did everything she could to stay inside. It was cold, and there were no heaters out there, so I can't really blame her. We got lucky and sat at the bar rather than wait longer (Had joined the wait list, but she still said it would be longer). The food was good, but it took a long time to get to us. It looked as though the business across the street was having an event that brought people over. The bartenders were great. Very personable and friendly! My experience wasn't good, but I may have caught them on an off day. The party I ate with that night was large and may have not helped the service. The server was difficult to catch and didn't alway deliver the ordered food in a reasonable amount of time, for example, a drink was delivered after a person in our party was closing out her tab and she ordered it before she got her entree. The beer taps weren't working that day and the rest of the bar selections were lackluster. Maybe next time the taps will be available and offer a couple of good beers. The portions were generous, but the food wasn't memorable. I got to try a few dishes from my friend's orders and nothing was excellent. My husband and I have been big fans of Oregano's for years. I loved their Pablo Picasso salad so much. However, we went Friday night and I had it, and it just wasn't the same at all. For one thing, the pieces of lettuce were big chunks, when it used to be a chopped salad. It had lots of sautéed onions, and the combination of the warm chicken and onions on top of the cold salad was the best part of it, in the past. This time, I couldn't even find any onions, and the chicken wasn't warm, either. Sad to think I probably won't be going back. I'd like to be able to say the service made up for it, but they were short both a server and a bartender, and they were so overworked that we ended up getting our own napkins, and then our own cutlery, so we could eat our food after it had finally been served. read more

I always forget that I really really really like this joint. I was actually surprised that I had never penned a review. We came here for a late lunch one day, which was great as there is usually a wait and we were hungry bordering on hangry. I seriously should have eaten some crackers before I left the house because when we got here we practically ordered everything on the menu... although we had the intent of taking of food home so that is my excuse. Ordered the Bollo Pasta, Boom Dip, Wings, Slice of Pizza and the El Diablo Shrimp Pasta. My hubs polished off his El Diablo, lots of big shrimp with a kick so he was happy. The wings were his too and he said they were pretty darn good. I was munching on the homemade chips that came with it which were really good as well. The pizza slice was very thin, and was actually two tasty slices. I took two bites of the Bollo Pasta (and a bite of their delicious garlic bread) before it was going in a box.
