Only Oregon Mobility Solutions could help me out of a huge jam I was in with my son's manual wheelchair repair! We were scheduled to board a plane and discovered that the wheelchair could not tilt back. Without the tilt function our trip was going to be very hard to pull off with a plane ride from Oregon to Denver and then a rental car to accommodate my son's wheelchair. Oregon Mobility Solutions took the wheelchair and repaired it quickly for us with no problems. We will come back for the permanent fix after our trip but for now they got us up and running! They responded quickly and professionally, unlike the very horrible nuMotion outfit in Tualatin. I plan on working with Oregon Mobility Solutions in the future with the permanent fix for my tilting seat wheelchair problem and any other repair. We went to their Tigard office to look at Pride electric wheelchairs. The two ladies in the office showed us the jazzy elite 14, which was perfect, stable and comfortable. I had done a lot of research in advance but really needed to experience an electric wheelchair in person. They let us try it out, take it out of the building on our own, try it on curb cuts, try it on very long inclines (something that was very important to me) and rough pavement. They knew everything about the wheelchair and could answer all of our questions. They made us feel welcome. They ave a lot of Pride scooters too, but we were only interested in wheelchairs. read more

I have an older Braun UVL lift in a ADA rated van for handicap. I took the van to a competitor for a 'tuneup', and to have a couple issues addressed. It did not take long to learn that they did not have a clue how to service and repair issues with the lift. I reached out to Mobility Solutions, and spoke with Keith. It was clear he knew exactly what he was doing. He accomplished in 1.5 hours what the competitor could not even address in 3 hours. Very knowledgeable on lifts, chairs, scooters. I would recommend him highly to anyone with a need of repairs or new equipment. And the other staff I met were absolutely wonderful, friendly and courteous. From the first time I spoke with James over the phone, dealing with Oregon Mobility Solutions was a breath of fresh air! He took the time to listen to exactly what my Dad needed in a new wheelchair van. He and his staff were warm and welcoming when we walked into their beautiful new Tigard showroom. This is a family-owned business with a friendly atmosphere and they put no pressure on us to make a decision. We were looking to upgrade my parents' 2003 wheelchair van and they gave us a very fair trade-in value for it. From the time we put down the deposit until Dad's new Toyota Sienna was delivered, they kept us updated and informed. James was extremely knowledgeable and organized about the VA auto allowance and conveyance benefits and walked us through the entire process. Then when the COVID-19 stay at home order hit, they were flexible and adaptable. Instead of having us come into the showroom again, we signed the paperwork online and they delivered their new van out to their Vancouver residence! They even installed some equipment on-site in record time, all while keeping their distance and wearing masks and gloves. They were so very generous in gifting my parents with some AMAZING surprises to help celebrate their anniversary!! It's a day my parents won't ever forget. I purchased a 2022 Ram 2500 in October, 2022 last year. It was delivered to Ryno Mobility in January 2022 where they started the wheelchair conversion process. Ryno Mobility completed their modifications to the truck around the end of March 2022. Ryno Mobility was responsible for majority of the conversion process, while Oregon Mobility was the one responsible for installing any of the bolt on parts and handling the project. Oregon Mobility submitted a bid to Vocational Rehabilitation saying that they would handle the project for $45,000.00 and VR chose them to do so. My 2022 Dodge Ram showed up to Oregon Mobility on April 12th, 2022 where James said he would keep me in the loop on the project details, fitment, and estimated completion date. Meanwhile VR was paying over $2,000.00+ a month to rent a 2005 Dodge Minivan from them as time went on and I never heard from James, myself or a family member would stop by on occasion to see how the progress was going. Every time myself or a family member stopped by it was sitting out in their gravel parking lot, monthes and monthes went by... it didn't make sense the portion of the project that Oregon Mobility was doing was just the Bolt on parts which is a much smaller percentage of the work than Ryno Mobility needed to do, yet Ryno Mobility had it for 2 monthes and Oregon Mobility is now on month 5 of having it...? I paid $80,000.00 for this truck and VR has kindly offered to pay $45,000 towards the vehicle modifications, all said and done this is a $125,000.00 vehicle that has been sitting in their gravel lot for 5 monthes. We have showed up and James was out showing it to other customers, James has told me it was ready on multiple occasions where I have taken time off of work, driven up to his Tigard location just to get there and something not be functioning properly. I have now came to pick up the truck on 6 occasions where I have been told it was ready to take home and had to bring it back. I have driven it a total of two times, and I have gotten stuck inside of it once and locked out of it twice, once missing a doctors appointment, and the next time on a 100 degree day outside on a job site in Vancouver and hour and half away from home. With this project taking as long as it has Vocational Rehabilitation told James that they would no longer pay anymore on the rental van because this project should have been completed monthes ago and that Oregon Mobility would have to eat the cost until my truck was finished. The first day I took the truck home and left the van with them, i was locked out of it and missed my doctor appointment. I brought it right back to them and they never offered that I take the van so that I had a form of transportation to work while they continue working on the truck. Sadly, I had to ask if I could borrow the rental van in the meantime to get to and from work since my truck was not close to complete or reliable 5 monthes after Oregon Mobility has had it. What do you think James answer was when I asked if I could borrow the van to get to and from work while they were looking into the issues with the truck? You nailed it! He said "no, unfortunately the van is no longer available" James has taken no responsibility for any of the problems that the truck is having, he immediately points the finger at someone else, usually Ryno Mobility is his scapegoat... probably because they are in Florida and can't defend themselves but nothing is ever James or Oregon Mobilities fault. They decide to cut a whole in the side of the factory leather seats and mount an arms rest without fitting me for it or asking me first. It was mounted for Greg Oden I think because it was literally at my chin, so another whole was made in the factory leather seat. Please keep in mind this is still the $125,000.00 truck that my self and VR are paying for, not the 2005 Dodge Caravan with a ramp that works about 50% of the time that they are charging $2000.00+ a month for. Needless to say my experience with James Kimsey and Oregon Mobility have been nothing shy of Awful. I feel bad because they do have a technician that is very caring named Denny, that wants to do great things for wheelchair users and his customers, he works really hard, he stays late, he genuinely cares, but sadly James and the company that he works for continues to Taint the hard work and effort that he puts in. Meanwhile James has completely dumped me into Dennys lap and put this all on him, while James is bitching to Vocational Rehab to get paid. I can't believe James is adamant about asking for $45,000.00 when I have driven the truck twice, been locked in and out of the vehicle 3 separate times, missed a doctors appointment and been stuck on a job site in Vancouver an hour and a half away from my home. His focus is completely in the wrong place and the fact that he thinks he has delivered a $45,000.00 product is absolutely mind blowing. read more

My husband became wheelchair bound. Transferring him in and out of our family car for his almost daily medical appointments was becoming exhausting on him ... and me. It was impossible for me to load/unload the wheelchair in/out of the trunk of our car so his outings were limited to whoever had a wheelchair at the other end (doctor's offices). He was becoming increasingly isolated to our home or doctor's offices because restaurants and movie theaters do not have wheelchairs in their lobbies. We decided it was time for a power chair and a vehicle with a ramp. The power chair company (NuMotion) came out; measured my husband; and ordered the power chair - However, it will be another THREE MONTHS until we can take delivery. Because of the many medical appointments, we decided we would go ahead and start researching "mobility" vehicles. I Google'd my brains out - almost literally, trying to learn about the different types of vehicles and ramps and lifts. All I ended up with was even more questions and absolute confusion. BUT, in that researching I bumped into a website saying they would come out to the house to help us out. Yeah, right! How much does THAT cost? Sure I couldn't afford such a consultation, I put the contact information aside. Then, an incident forced me out of thinking the vehicle to death and I called OREGON MOBILITY. Immediately, I felt the cavalry had arrived with James' knowledge and expertise and calm demeanor. Our initial contact was on the phone. James asked all the right questions to get an idea of what we might need. He made an appointment with us and showed up on time at our home. James spent some time with my husband and me in the comfort of our den - further assessing our situation and taking measurements. Then he asked if we would like to come outside and see the type of vehicle he thought might fit our needs and to "try on" the wheelchair ramp. As I walked outside I could see this brand spankin' new gorgeous minivan parked in our driveway. Two thoughts sprang to mind, first was that this was his demonstration vehicle - or was this 'THE SCAM' to "up-sell" me ... my defensive walls went up. We pushed my husband (a large man) outside and up the ramp and into the van - he fit - it was comfortable. Yes, this could work. This van is for sale. It is an older van with low miles and the price point was within our means. WOW! This van looked brand new. There isn't a scratch inside or out. But over and above "looks" James is adamant that "his people" are in safe vehicles that won't break down on the open road. His experience with vehicles comes into play here - choosing the right fit vehicles in the first place to add to his stock. Not only was my husband isolated to our home or medical offices, he was also increasing isolating to his bedroom or office because moving him from room to room in his push wheelchair was difficult for a variety of reasons. Learning this, James offered to "loan" us a power chair until my husband's power chair arrives. What an amazing GIFT for us. My husband has been scooting all around the house and becoming more engaged in the household again. QUALITY OF LIFE!!! Yes, we bought that vehicle! We love it and the freedom it gives both of us. The best part we never had to leave the house. James took care of everything including dealing with our bank to pay for it and all the DMV stuff. Really, we never left the house. And, Oregon Mobility will again return to our house for future servicing of the minivan. No more hassles! This list goes on and on and I have done that enough already. You get the idea. On the personal side, to start this business, James left a public servant career wherein he served his community - a public demonstration of his caring nature. He is a man of honesty and integrity; genuine sincerity and generosity almost to a fault. He truly wants to continue with his giving nature in his business. This personal soft touch with such nice empathy is so appreciated to this elderly couple who have been through so much trauma already. Again, thank you, James!
