I love popping into this place and ordering my all-time favorite - almond chicken. THIS PLACE MAKES IT PERFECT EVERY TIME!!!! I have had almond chicken at other places but this place makes it EXACTLY how I like it! And they have LARGE portions too - just ask! My other fav's to eat here are: Generals Chicken and Orange Chicken. Their menu is extensive!!! Many, many choices!!!! My first impression of the restaurant is that they had a nice variety of foods and the dining area looked pretty nice. I took pics while waiting for our order to share my observations; i'l' get back to this later. Food is pretty good for the price. Large portions, food seems to be prepared at such a fast pace. The vegetables are placed in each dish rather chunky so it is pretty difficult to serve with the simple plastic utensils that they provide you with. We ordered the almond chicken, the potstickers, the general tao chicken, the vegetable fried rice, the pork chow mein and brocoli beef. My favorite was the potstickers, almond chicken and general tao chicken and pork chow mein). I ordered mostly from reading the reviews that others had posted so thanks to the other foodies like me.) the were a party of 4 not including a young child (4.5) The child was really keen on the potstickers. Anyways, based on reviews i understand why people generally eat out bc they lack proper serving spoons, food isn't well mixed; u have a fork and spoon and styrofoam plates. The portions themselves were so big that i think our party could still be eating the leftovers for two more days. The bill came to about 90$. Really really cheap; think that the restaurant owners are really humble and considerate to customers. Even the cold refrigerated drinks near the cash register for customers to buy are thoughtfully priced and less than you'd expect to pay for bottled drinks in other restaurants. I could see us coming back. I recommend this restaurant to others for being a honest thoughtful business. read more

Okay, I'll be honest and tell you I order from here more than I probably should. Lol Even though people have conflicting opinions on the ambiance, it seems the consensus on the food is right on up there. And I agree. Generous portions, super tasty and you can jazz it up with some extra spice, soy, sweet or whatever floats your boat. I'm not sure about the reviews on customer service.. I've always been greeted with a smile either on phone or in person (and yes, you can hear a smile ^.~) The only negative thing I can say is the parking. Sometimes the big trucks rudely take up much needed parking spaces. Tell them big boys to truck it on outta there. There is plenty of room across the way for big rigs. read more

Love coming here, great staff, friendly atmosphere, fantastic food, I'm in over the halfway point of the really large menu. Have yet to be disappointed they offer beef , pork, chicken and seafood have big portions that are made to order but still super quick. Great prices to boot. I drive a big rig and stop here any time I can. Ok I try to get a new to me menu item each time I come here. Today I tried the fried Calamari. Holy smokes WHAT A GAME CHANGER!! The most tender, succulent calamari rings I've had in my life. Tempura style battered, half rings. The tempura is light and crispy but the squid was not the slightest bit chewy. They had such a soft taste and texture, remarkably great appetizer. Oh and another thing, NOT served with marinara like almost every other place but with sweet and sour sauce WHAT?! I was skeptical to say the least but it was magical. We also had the asparagus pork and cashew shrimp. Now I'm super picky with shrimp. This dish is on point, PERFECTLY cooked shrimp. Still snappy, the dish came with squash, carrot, water chestnut, celery and a nice handful of cashews with a light, clingy sauce that was a great match to the dish. The pork was also delicious, big chunks of pencil sized asparagus, onions, carrots and delicate cuts of pork, served in a black bean sauce that was just right. I'm so glad this place exists and wish them the greatest success. I will continue to try new things here (although I might have to get the calamari again next time SOOO good) We both decided to get the dinner box sized meals each weighed over 2 pounds, Chinese restaurant leftovers awesome!!! If you are in the area and want a truly great meal, I highly recommend Oriental Express. Pick any item, I haven't been upset yet. I think this place is ok. The employees need to learn better English and manners. They make us feel like we are being rushed out the door before my family and I can even place an order. The food is good for a Chinese place in our town but the chow mien to me isn't chow mien without the pan fried noodles ..celery .. mushrooms. I prefer the chow mein at Lims Cafe ( Its better) and at times they do over charge me for 2 meals. When they get their delivery orders wrong they like to argue and belittle people. The food is always good and plentiful. I love the Mongolian beef. I always get to save half for the next day it's a good amount of food for the price. I was craving some American-Chinese food and was going to go to Panda Express, but I remembered hearing good reviews about this place so I thought I'd check it out for lunch. It was only a 15 minute drive from Redding so it's totally worth the drive if you live in Redding. The place is pretty nondescript and doesn't look like much from the outside. But don't let that deter you as the food is really good and so is the value. They have lots of lunch specials to choose from. I got the Orange Peel Chicken lunch special ($7.75), which came with chicken chow mein (but with udon style noodles), fried rice, and a whole bunch of orange peel chicken. They also give you soup and a little egg roll, along with a fortune cookie (I got my food to go). I was pretty impressed with the portion size as I have a big appetite and wasn't sure if it would fill me up. But it totally did and I could barely finish it. They give you much more orange chicken than Panda Express, so if you're in the mood for some Americanized Chinese food, I totally recommend checking out Oriental Express and supporting this little family run business. I was driving by this little place today and decided to stop. I had low expectations as the outside wasn't glamorous but my Daughter's girlfriend insisted it was great, so I gave it a shot. I had the girls order for me and I waited in the car with our dog. $20 and 15 minutes later, out they came with a large white plastic bag containing cashew chicken, orange chicken, Szechuan beef and steamed rice. The order I had intended to feed 2 in fact fed my entire family of 4 and it was by far the best orange chicken I've ever tasted! All of the food was great but the orange chicken was crunchy, light and perfectly cooked!
