Another secret place with truck parking. Tucked behind a volero this place is a little run down and the bathrooms are located outside. They give you enough food to last at least two meals. My credentials; I was raised on Chinese food as my stepmother was a Chinese emigrant. I ate the best dim sum and Chinese food in L.A. for years, before moving to SF and eating the same there for years also. Now, that said, this place has some VERY good food. It's fresh, fast, favorable, not super salty, and the staff is very friendly. The building is a little funky, I'd call it a dive. But, if you can get past that, you're in for one hell of a good meal, with large portions too. In the thirty minutes I was there stuffing my face, their phone never stopped ringing. I think they would be well served to install a circular door to better accommodate the countless pick up orders. I would definitely recommend this place, trust me, if you know Chinese food, you won't be disappointed. And a final comment--for Yelps advertising department. Leave them alone, their business is doing great and they said they do not need your paid advertising, their reviews speak for themselves. I was also very happy with the price got a dinner for two with general chicken and happy family, with a side if fried rice and steamed pork buns. Delicious food! They're chow mein is so good and flavorful. They're ramen is great too. I also really love the Kung Pao Shrimp and Kung Pao Chicken. I recently got food delivered from here and there was a rock in my food which was weird, but that's the first incident out of the hundreds of times I've gone here. I've been going here for several years. I loved it at first and then something seemed to decline for a couple visits 2019 so I stopped going and starting frequenting Golden Star. Well, I ordered from Oriental express this week and was super impressed. Very good salt and pepper chicken, veggies were crisp and not over cooked in the dishes that had them, sauce was not excessive and no complaints from the five people that ate it. Even though I only get the general chicken (could use a little more veggies) it is still way bomb if you wanna spend $12 Fried rice is also way good and a whole box from them only $8 or so lot of flavor! Should not have expected too much but was still a let down. The ceiling was corroded and full of water spots, missing a panel, the tables weren't sanitized and only 3 tables had sauces. Ordered the beef ramen and it was not good at all. Same ramen noodles you could make at home. Overall the service was decent but the experience has left me very unsatisfied especially for the price. read more
