Building looks sketchy from outside but the dinning area is cute and quaint. Food was delicious. One of the biggest egg rolls i have ever seen. Crab Rangoon were great too. We love the food here. Hubby always gets general chicken or lemon chicken. I love the hot and sour soup and usually get some sort of mixed meat and veg in a garlic or brown sauce. I tried this place for the first time last week. My folks go here often and I've tried their leftovers and it was really good. It's even better when you dine in. You get a generous portion of some very solid Chinese food. The place is very plain on the outside. The inside is nothing special either. However, the food is on point. The hot and sour soup and the egg drop were both better than average. I had the sesame shrimp and I could not eat all of it. It's rare that I can't finish a plate. My wife had the mandarin chicken. Classic Americanized Chinese food done right. I have eaten here numerous times over the last 10 years. I've consistently ordered the same thing every time. The lunch plate "shrimp with garlic sauce". It comes with shrimp fried rice and fried wontons. If you dine in, you also get a cup of some delicious hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. I always opt for the hot and sour soup. Yesterdays lunch was no different. The veggies are so fresh and cooked perfectly, the shrimp is deveined and plentiful. There's plenty of egg, veggie and shrimp in the fried rice. The fried wontons are basic...and I wish it came with an egg roll but for the price (11.00) it can't be beat. The service is good. The OT is a family restaurant that has been a neighborhood mainstay for decades. Pay no attention to 2 star reviews from 11 years ago, kitchens change, chefs come and go. Mr. Vincent is the hardest working man in the business, like Elvis, he runs a good show. The restaurant is very family friendly with large tables but also has booths for couples. Our 2022 experiences have all been great. The menu has the usual Mandarin fare but also features unique dishes that are outstanding. The portions are generous. The prices are very reasonable. Because of the popularity of the restaurant the food is always fresh. You may have to return to find a favorite but the Crispy Duck is fantastic. Looking forward to going back very soon. read more

We ordered take out from here on Saturday. It was our first time to try this place. The reviews seemed mixed, but we thought we'd try somewhere new. Due to COVID-19, they have a pick-up window outside on the side of the building. It was all pretty efficient. We ordered the Crab Rangoons, Sesame Chicken combination plate, Mongolian Beef combination plate, Crispy Duck entree, and Shrimp Egg Foo Young entree. The Sesame Chicken was very good. Probably one of the best we've had. It had large pieces of white meat. Everything else was mostly disappointing. The Crispy Duck was way too dry. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young was drowning in gravy. They should have put the gravy on the side like everywhere else does. The Mongolian Beef was mostly all onions and not right. The Rangoons were lacking flavor. The fried rice was ok, but the Shrimp in it were not what we like. They were an odd color and tiny. They used the same in the Shrimp Egg Foo Young too, and we didn't care for that. This place's decis really interesting. I loved that it has a family restaurant vibe. The food was incredibly delicious. My favorite dish was the Singapore noodles, it was plenty for 2-3 people and it had big shrimp/meat. I was very surprised when I got the mandarin chicken because I thought it was just the regular Americanized orange flavored chicken pieces and oh my!! this mandarin chicken is one of the best fried chickens with gravy that I've ever tried. The wontons were also delicious and even though im not an egg drop soup person, I ended up loving Oriental Triangle's egg drop soup. Cantonese Chinese food like I remember from the 60's. I been passing this establishment for over 50 years and always wondered how the food was. It wasn't until recently I decided to give it a try after hearing a food critic on the radio mention this place as one to try. First, let me say, I've been to every notable Chinese restaurant from Kenner to New Orleans for over 50 years and can say I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is here. I will say it's above average for flavor, quality, quantity and service. Here you can get a combination dinner for under $14.00 that includes soup, shrimp fried rice, egg roll and entree. The hot and sour soup was the best I have ever eaten. Egg rolls are average, however, the fried rice and entrees are above average. Huge entree portions that accompany the combination plates that are as large as the entree if ordered alone. The Kung Pao chicken was excellent and the sauce was very flavorful and sufficient as were the fresh veggies that dressed the dish. I have had the shrimp and lobster sauce and the dish brought me back to the days where you could find the way that Cantonese food is supposed to be made. My sister used to work here when she was 19 years old and now she's 51years old! It's long ago been switch to new managements. The food are actually taste so much better. Back in the day, the food would be too salty for my taste and the proportion were smaller. I always go for the same items since the menu never changed. I got the shrimp with lobsters sauce lunch that comes with a choice of sweet and sour soup/egg drop soup and egg rolls/spring rolls. Spring rolls are $1.50 extra if I'm correct. Reason for one less star is because of parking. They have limit parking in front and they also have parking in the back but when it's lunch time, parking would be filled up and if you are lucky to get a spot, getting out is a challenge. I can't say whether or not it was all pre-made, but it certainly _tasted_ fresh: the soup was excellent, the egg rolls perfect, fried rice freshly cooked, broccoli fresh and crispy, the chicken also crispy, and the sauces did not taste like they came from a can. The O.T. is a pretty solid option for Chinese cuisine in the Jefferson area. It reminds me a lot of Five Happiness, just without the atmosphere (big difference). The food, however, really is pretty good and is up there with places like Five Happiness. We work about 100 yards away and have stopped making the trek out to mid-city and instead dine here at the O.T. pretty frequently now. I get the exact same thing every time... Bulgoki (spelled Bulgogi other places) lunch special... which is a Korean dish make of thinly, marinated slices of beef or pork barbecued on a grill or skillet. The lunch version I order also comes with a choice of soup (I always get egg drop), rice, and some tempura shrimp. All very delicious and a bargain at about $15 with a beverage. Negatives... the dining room is pretty dated and could really use a facelift. I always feel like the place is a little dirty, but not enough that it deters me from dining there. BOTTOM LINE: Very good Chinese cuisine at a bargain price... some things left to be desired in the ambiance department. read more

The shrimp was sautéed and not fried with this dish. This can in a deep dish and was the consistency of a gumbo. It was good but I would not order again because I wasn't into the soupy gumbo type dish. Mandarin chicken was fried and had some kind of sauce on the top. The sauce wasn't sweet not spicy.
