If you're looking for delicious, authentic flavors then this is your place. Since moving to Phoenix I've been disappointed by so many places but this is very much so the exception. The service & food are both incredible. You can tell everything is made with love. My husband and I came on a weeknight for dinner & tried a variety of dishes. I can't say there was anything we didn't like but our all time favorites were the stir fry cabbage, jalapeño beef and spicy crispy chicken. My mouth is watering just thinking about all of this food again. We will definitely keep coming back again & again for more. Don't skip out on the dessert either!
A bit disappointed with the food. I drove an hour expecting something more authentic, but both main dishes lacked flavor. The food came out very quickly--less than five minutes for both--and we were the only customers at the time. I think if the dishes had been cooked longer, they might have developed more flavor. The pork, tripe, and intestine had a strong, unpleasant taste, as if they weren't very fresh or weren't prepared properly. The spice level was very mild, so if you like spicy food, you may need to ask for extra heat. The service was quick, but the restaurant could improve on cleanliness. My chopsticks and chair were oily when we arrived. Overall, I found the experience a bit disappointing.
When you drive by this particular restaurant, you may kind of get sketchy feel but as soon as you step inside, that concern is put to bed. We were greeted by a very nice young man and seated quickly. He was very pleasant and handed us our menus and asked if he could get us something to drink and brought us water immediately. Their menu is very vast. They even have a separate noodle menu. We ordered the spicy crispy chicken with peppers and beef stir fried noodles. The chicken was done to absolute perfection. It was very light, crispy and not oily at all! The beef noodles were also very good and fresh. I would definitely recommend this authentic Szechuan restaurant as they have something for everyone.
Popped into Original Cuisine for lunch just as the doors opened. First impression: very dated -- more surface clean than deep clean. Staff came over and was friendly. We ordered the classic Mapo tofu and the eggplant with string beans. I thought both dishes were pretty good. The ambiance leans gritty, which is unfortunate -- this place could have real potential in a clean, modern space with some proper staff training. One worker spitting into a trash can had my wife saying, "We won't be back."
"Food is our common ground, a universal experience." - James Beard Been popping into this spot ever since a Yelp Perk experience. Every time we have dined in, it has been enjoyable and flavorful. One item we have always gotten is the Spicy Crispy Chicken. You really can't go wrong with this dish. There's plenty of seating and the bathrooms are clean. The staff here are nice too so eat well, friends.
It was my first time and came on recommendation of other Yelpers. Of course I had to have the signature dish of spicy crispy chicken. Served with white rice. The chicken was plentiful as were the little red peppers. Very tasty dish. And a mountain of food for one! So much so that I dined on it a second night. My only beef, the dish was a little salty for my taste. Still a great meal. Super attentive service. Shall return with friends to try more dishes. Thanks Original!!!
I really love coming here for authentic Chinese/Szechaun food. The kind of dishes you don't get in American style Chinese places (not that those can't be or aren't good). Their vegetables are cooked well and I really enjoy the garlic sauce. The tofu in the salted duck yolk was one of the highlights of the dinner. I highly recommend. We also tried their dry pot mix. That was also seasoned and cooked well. Don't skip on trying it! Service is friendly but can be slow when it's really busy. It can get busy and loud here but it's all family-friends hanging out over dinner vibes. I'll continue coming back. I know it might not look like a whole lot from the outside but you won't be disappointed.
Had been here before thanks to a yelp event, wanted to come back and finally was able to. Stopped by for late lunch. The place was not crowded. The person who came to assist us was very nice. Got us water right away and gave us a lot of recommendations for food as well. We tried the spicy chicken and then the pork belly. Both were really good. But I hoped the pork belly to have a little fat and cube cuts but it was more like slices. Their dumplings were good as well. It was quite, and I think they are a family run business. They were going to have lunch together, but they said just call them if we needed everything.
Have been to this restaurant multiple times already and every time leaving so satisfied with the meal. One of my favorite dishes is definitely the chili spicy crispy chicken and also the stirfry eggplant. Depending on the group of friends I go with each time we order a few extra dishes from the menu and every time none of these dishes, disappoint. The service is super fast and food comes out very quick for how busy this place can get especially at night. Portions are good and lots of seating space and one of the best things is that it opens pretty late into the night so if you're ever craving something delicious late night I would highly recommend coming here.
So there's so many "chain" restaurants out there so I try to hit some "mom and pop" spots (locals) as often as possible. We wanted something a little different so we stopped in to original cuisine From the outside you might think, Eh. But this place is one of those that just has good food and is cool in that it's tastefully decorated to the culture without being over done. It seemed clean and theres quite a bit of seating. I will say they seem to want to make sure the bathrooms are clean but probably used a little to much floor cleaner, but better to much than none at all I guess. The lady greeting you when you come in is also true to the culture and she's really super friendly and she makes sure to say "WELCOME" to every single person coming in. The food was very good. I would have to say they had the best orange chicken I've had in a very long time, the "spicy crispy chicken" dish with peppers was really good and the pork fried rice was just awesome. I usually prefer fried dumplings but theirs seemed to be steamed and were amazing and the sauce they use is so delicious. The ribs we had were good enough but we weren't completely sold on them. When you look at the menu, you might think they are pricy but keep in mind, you either need to share or get a to go box for each dish because they are huge. Entrees will definitely feed 2 people but most will feed 3 to 4 people. Stop in and try them, I will again for sure.
I've always passed by this establishment not thinking much of it based on the outside, but it was repeatedly recommended to me by some coworkers, so I gave it a try. After looking over the menu, a family member and I decided to order a bunch of dishes to share, we got the fungus salad with garlic, dumplings with chili sauce, fried rice with Chinese sausage, and the house special grilled fish skewers. Out of all the dishes we ordered, our favorites would have to be the fungus salad and the grilled fish skewers. The fungus salad had the perfect crunch to it with a mild to medium spice. This dish was noticeably milder when we ate it there, when we took it home as leftovers and it marinated in the sauce for a few hours, it changed the dish up and ended up being SUPER spicy (in a good way). For the fish skewers, the fish itself was fresh, nice and crisp, there was no overwhelming fishy taste. However, the soupy sauce it came in was a bit lacking in spices that usually characterize authentic Szechuan flavor. The dumplings were okay; they were a bit sweeter than we had expected. The fried rice was standard, nothing special. Overall, service was fast but kind of aloof. Our server barely talked, but she boxed up our food with care. This restaurant is very unassuming, it's one of those places you don't go to for the ambiance or the service, you go for the food. Their menu is extensive with many authentic dishes at varying prices. Don't let the chili pepper scaling scare you out of trying them out.

When they say authentic they truly mean AUTHENTIC. Or at least it was so delicious and matches up to other true Sichuan/szchewan style Chinese restaurants. MUST try. This style is salty and spicy and it's one of my fave. This also makes for good food for beer and alcohol to match the saltiness. Get the frog dry pot!!! And something fried spicy chicken with the peppers. Service was prompt and attentive, no frills service. The menu is insane! Seriously, check it out! This place is not your average buffet style, fast food Chinese restaurant. We wanted something "real", that would leave us regretting our decision and experiencing indigestion. The wait staff was very helpful and there is literally someone watching the tables to anticipate any need. The dining area is quaint and clean. Ordered via UberEats and had a great experience with food being done as predicted! Ordered the delicious fried rice, boiled fish with veggies, and dumplings with chili sauce. Everything was good and as expected although the rice was a little salty and didn't have much in it for being $14.99. Boiled fish with pickled veggies was flavorful and spicy. Wish they took out the sichuan peppercorns out so we wouldn't have to spit those out. Tip: save the soup for the next day and boil some noodles with it for noodle soup! The dumplings were pretty good - very garlicky and the fillings were good. A diff style than most dumplings in chili sauce in the Valley. Would return! read more

OK, where do I even start, this place is truly authentic. Sichuan style at its finest. From the sour numbing soup to the spicy beef with jalapeño. This place has it all and they even have American Chinese dishes for my kids although I make my kids eat everything. Their fried donuts were probably the best ones I've had. They are open late every night I believe midnight or later that alone is worth the five stars. read more
I've been telling everyone about this place lately! My husband and I came here and tried the Spicy Crispy Chicken. It's SO good and so flavorful. It is very spicy though if you get it ordered as is. (I will admit though that I'm a baby when it comes to spice haha. My husband loves spicy food, but even he said there was a kick to it.) We also got the Pan-Fried Spicy Pork Belly and the Mapo Tofu. Everything was delicious! I also ordered a to-go order of the Spicy Crispy Chicken for my mom because I thought she'd like it. She did! Both my husband and my mom said that if they have to choose, they liked Original Cuisine's Spicy Crispy Chicken better than Chou's Kitchen's version (Szechuan Chicken). Chou's isn't spicy, so it's a touch more palatable for me, but I may need to come back and try Original Cuisine's mild version. But can't go wrong either way! Love authentic! And this place is. Wouldn't walk in if it wasnt suggested that we try. The outside building is bare/sketchy to say the least. The inside is big with many big tables but paint peeling walls and the bathroom was quite dirty. Didn't get a good vibe. The menu had brains, gizzards, tongue intestines, liver, kidneys and then for the less risky: sizchuan pork, cumin beef was flavorful, steamed bok choy was just that and the dumplings were steamed in a delish chili oil. We didn't eat the twice cooked pork because the pork was pork belly, of which the menu didn't say. Oh, one more thing, i was given a rose for Mother's Day. A very nice touch. All in all, if you like very authentic, give it a try. read more
Can here with some friends that love this place so they did all the ordering so not sure what anything was but it was all pretty good my favorite was the beef dish had a nice heat to it the gravy was very flavorful the fried chicken with the pepper was grate too not so much hot but had a nice chili flavor the greenbens had a nice kick to the I would get them agian service was ok food came out fast I would definitely go back agian read more
If you like spicy, the Spicy Crispy Chicken here really packs a punch. Original Cuisine serves Szechuan cuisine which includes popular dishes like Porkbelly with garlic sauce, spicy duck wings, Kung Pao chicken and Chongqing noodles. They are located in the heart of Mesa's Asian district. This was my first visit here and I really enjoyed my time here with our big group of friends. Most of my friends in my party were Asian. I enjoyed being educated on many of the dishes on their menu. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. read more

So we had a great meal here. I will say it is very non American Chinese food. However, they do have some things you would expect at a more American Chinese food place. I like the menu, which had pictures and descriptions. The staff speaks limited English, so kinda point to what you want and don't ask too many questions. The pork Belly app was not my favorite, but my husband liked it - the texture is soft, and it is not a cured or smoked pork belly like I was expecting. The chef special hot pot soup had everything under the sun in it and lots of things. I have no idea what they were, but it was very good. I would go back to try the different menu items. I saw some creative plating and food on other people's tables that looked tasty. The place was clean and service was quick although once we got food we didn't see them again. read more

Family style comfort food. Sautéed vegetables of any choice is bomb. We got both the A Choy x2 and the Eggplant & Green Beans. I'd like to try their skewers next time and some of the soups/hot pots. The tables around us had some interesting dishes, makes me want to come back and try more. read more
This place is a definite favorite. While the restaurant isn't always busy inside, they do seem to get a lot of takeout orders. Service is always fast and food comes out within minutes after ordering. The Spicy Crispy Chicken with Crispy Peppers and the Pan-Fried Shredded Beef with Green Peppers are amongst our favorite dishes, offering great flavor and large servings. Even when busy, inside is always calm and relaxing and makes the dining experience that much better. This place is one I would highly recommend to anyone looking for some great tasting dishes! read more

Came here for a late night meal...didn't realize that they only serve a limited menu after 9pm...however food was good, flavorful. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of actual spice produce that the grilled chives were doused in- it was too much, but the flavor was good. Would come back again to try other dishes! read more
AUTHENTIC! I came for a birthday party, and we sat at the awesome large table with the middle spinning section, where all the dishes are placed and it spins so that people can grab what they want. Due to food allergies between me and my boyfriend, we ordered our own dishes instead of sharing with the group just to ensure we could eat what we got, so I unfortunately did not get to try everything. We had a Chinese girl in our group who helped order all the best Chinese dishes. I ended up getting the Pan Fried Shredded Beef with Green Pepper for my entrée. It was good, but even though it had 1 chili next to it indicating spice level, I didn't think it was spicy at all. This dish was good, but very basic. Get this if you're afraid to venture out, haha! For some sides we got the Dumplings and the Wavy Fries. Dumplings were SO GOOD! One order came with 9 of them, a really great amount! The sauce was dripping off and it was delicious. The Wavy Fries were SO BEAUTIFULLY SPICED! Although, they should have been crispier. They weren't crispy at all so it felt more like spiced potatoes rather than fries. These were super spicy, but amazing. I'll be back, I want to try more of the obscure dishes! Based on what the larger group ordered, they were big fans of the Ribs (which were soft and fell off the bone) and the Grilled Fish on skewers. Keep in mind that dishes are large here, so if you don't eat too much I would share 1 entrée with a couple sides of rice. read more

But fortunately they already open their dining room again. Their food are delicious and authentic. Service is fast and good. Very easy parking and no long wait. I was told this is the best sichuan food in town so I was super excited to try it out. The food there was overall good. I'd consider it authentic Chinese food. We ordered the twice-fried pork and dry pot. The pork was good, but a little bit too salty. The dry pot was a bit lacking in numbing and spicy flavors. We went in at around 5pm, so it was not super busy inside. The service was great. And the ambience in this place is cute with orange as the main decorating color. I want to go back and try some other typically ordered dishes. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in town！ I usually go there once a week. This place has the most authentic Szechuan in town. The foods are so delicious，and the waiters are very nice. You will have a lot of choices in this place. The grilled fish and the pork ribs are so good，Chongqing spicy crispy chicken is a must try！If you like spicy food，you must try those two. They also serve the Szechuan style chilli oil dumplings and noodles，those two are also good for try.
