Some co-workers were eating food from here last week & it looked good. I don't take a lunch so wherever I go to pick up food has to be close. This is not close to my work so I ordered Door Dash for delivery today. I really wanted to like it, but it was just okay. I ordered a lunch special. I got the sweet & sour chicken since it's my favorite. I paid 50 cents more for the vegetable fried rice. I also paid a little more because I wanted the crab Rangoon instead of soup. The chicken was good, but I didn't like love the sweet & sour sauce. It was runny & a little too sour. The crab Rangoon was really good. The fried rice looked good, but it fell flat for me. I'm not sure why, but even with the soy sauce it didn't have much of a taste. It had broccoli, peas, carrots & onions in it. I'm not sure I will order from here again, but if I do, I wouldn't get the rice again. read more

I usually prefer crispy tofu, and the Ma Po Tofu didn't have any photos or a clear description that it was made with soft tofu. We ordered it anyway because we enjoy Szechuan flavors, so we knew we were taking a bit of a gamble. When it arrived (via DoorDash) and we saw it was soft tofu, we were a little disappointed, but we rolled with it. Overall, the food was decent. The lo mein noodles were al dente and very long. The Szechuan dish wasn't really spicy, so we added sriracha and soy sauce to adjust the flavor. It also came with white rice and fortune cookies. Portions were fairly generous--we ordered a regular Ma Po Tofu, a small lo mein, and rice, and still had enough leftovers for two people. A solid, average experience for us. Clearer menu descriptions would definitely help. read more

I hate that I have to write this... especially because I really don't like giving bad reviews. But I have to be honest: this was disgusting! Not the food itself, but the extremely long hair that was entangled in my General Tso's chicken. (See the photo for reference. y'all, I mean that hair looked like it was cooked into the batter. Had lunch at my brother's "go to" and it was delicious and reasonable priced ($7.99). This family restaurant is very casual, with friendly owners. We had company for dinner Sunday. I bragged about Beijing and how good it was. A little disappointed. I ordered the Walnut Shrimp. The batter on the shrimp was not cooked. Too much batter. The chicken fried rice didn't have much flavor. We had 3 other dinners and they seemed ok. There is always plenty of food. Not sure if they have new cooks or what. Discovered this gem when I dropped off our daughter at ASU. She just graduated, but we have made this a go to every visit we made! Another daughter lives in the area and they go there a lot. Coming from the east coast (Allentown, PA) this is the closest I've found to home. The wonton soup without seafood in it(unless you prefer it that way), thick crispy egg rolls, and a great general Tsos chicken! This has become my go to Chinese spot and can vouch for all of the above as well as the fried wontons, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, house special rice is solid, orange chicken is great. Portion to price ratio is fair in my opinion, I never feel like I overpaid here. Also feels like a family run spot which I appreciate, I always have had nice, happy service when I pick it up! read more

I got the sweet and sour chicken and my wife got the orange chicken, the orange chicken could have been fried some more but overall still was good. Fast, affordable, delicious Chinese food. We're here at least once a month. We get general tso's chicken, dragon and phoenix (chicken and shrimp combo), and orange chicken typically. Beijing Express caters to both Americanized Chinese food lovers and authentic Chinese food lovers alike! Portions are generous and price point is low! They have great lunch specials! The Americanized Chinese food we ordered included orange chicken, walnut chicken, and chow mein. The authentic Chinese food we ordered were two orders of dumplings, one fried and one steamed. The orange chicken was good- good size portions and nicely battered/fried. The orange sauce was fresher tasting than Panda's. Walnut chicken I feel like is hard to find and I was delighted to see Beijing Express has it! They were nice and big pieces of chicken, also battered and fried, then coated with mayo. Really, you can't go wrong! The walnuts offer a nice crunch. It reheats well the next day too! The chow mein was a disappointment; it was just the noodles, no meat, no veggies. I wonder if that was due to us subbing it for rice rather than ordering it as a side? Nonetheless you expect your chow mein to be more than just mein... I have mixed feelings about the dumplings. On one hand they are made in house and that says a lot! Making dumplings from scratch is a lot of work! They are big and they're good, not great. On the other hand they are filled with pork and cabbage which is NOT traditional; I would love to see them filled with pork and Chinese chives! The fried dumplings needed to be fried a bit longer; they were soggy on the bottoms. Overall I would still get them; they are still better than your average frozen dumplings. We purchased two lunch specials from Beijing Express. The price has gone up slightly yet still a great deal. Upon entering, I noticed their small dining area is now open for sit down. I asked staff how long the dining area had opened and he replied just a few days. I ordered the Broccoli chicken and the Cashew chicken. I was a walk in order and only waited about 5 minutes for our take out. We ate the Cashew chicken tonight and it was good with tender chicken pieces, cashews, carrots and mushrooms. A bit bland so we added the hot mustard and some duck sauce to it. The veggie egg roll was good after I heated it quickly in the pan. Staff are still masked and their see through divider is still in place when you order. Parking lot right outside. read more

No more combos, higher prices on everything and smaller portions.. say it ain't so. This was once a great value and our go-to Chinese joint in the neighborhood, but $35 for what was $22/23 max + smaller portions of protein, I can't continue to support. And this isn't delivery, this is the increase for their takeout. Can't imagine what price would be with delivery.. Na do get it, inflation is hitting everyone, but this seems extreme. Came across this place when I was looking for good Chinese food in my area since moving and this place is IT. It was so good I told my family about it and now they drive all the way from Chandler /Gilbert to get this food. It is hot, flavorful and great portions. Honey Chicken (Chef's Special) was a huge disappointment. It was literally plain chicken inside a container coated with plain honey. No added flavors or seasoning. Would rather go to Sun Asian for the honey chicken. I feel like the chef was lazy with this dish. And to raise the price because it's a "special" is insulting lol. Ended up trashing the honey and glad I had some sauces at home I could out together to coat the chicken in. Other than the honey chicken, staff was very friendly, this is the second time I've been here and the first time I ordered generals chicken which was mid.
