The literal down town version of the infamously amazing "Chuck Box" out in Tempe. The atmosphere was amazing the bar seating was great as well. You don't get the same smoked out feeling you get at the chuck box or yelling at the cook your order. But where it makes up is you are in cooled ac the condiments were the right temp and tomatoes were actually cold. The pricing is very similar and if you are craving a burger this is definitely a place you should stop by especially if you are an avid chuck box goer (the owner of the Chuck owns this establishment as well)

Any classic, hamburger loving person should come here. I've been wanting to try it for ages, and the food and vibes just bring me back to a feeling of when I was growing up. Simple ingredients and straight forward, tasty food. They even have a salad bar for your toppings! That made me so happy. I got the Border Burger that comes with jalapeño cheese and a grilled green chile. We also split onion rings and fries. Both were delicious. All in all with 2 burgers, 2 drinks, 2 sides, taxes and tips we spent about $20 per person. In this economy, I think that's real decent especially when the food is this good.

I take positive restaurant reviews with a grain of salt, sometimes with a grain of pepper. With Google's 4.6 and Yelp's 3.9 I thought how in the world can a burger joint get that high. And, back in August of '23, Ms. Fontanez of the AZ Central had The Original Hamburger Works as one the Vally's top burger joint. Well, we finally decided to find out what the hoopla was all about. The hoopla was right on target! No other burger joint over the last decade preps up their ingredients like The Original Hamburger Works! First off the grilled/roasted green chile (a whole one) are perfectly done, tasty and tender! The mushrooms are fresh, tender and perfectly sautéed. The extraordinary bacon is slightly crisp and perfectly tasty. Their sautéed onions were fresh and delectable. The cheese was grilling on the burger just right. And last but not least, the half-pound of beef burger patty is perfectly char grilled over aromatic and tasty mesquite, not overdone, not underdone, and extremely tender - almost to the point of not needing any accoutrements (lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapeños, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, sliced jalapeños, relish or any of their other fresh goodies at the self-serve toppings bar. We can't wait to go back and try their waffle or chili cheese fries, fish & chips, waffle fries, zucchini, jalapeño poppers, wings, Border Burger, Fish & Chips, Fiesta Burger, BBQ and Hot & Spicy chicken and more. If you're in the market for a juicy, tasty, good old fashioned, terrific, char broiled, fantastic piece of meat on your bun with the best and most fresh toppings and more than fantastico sides... this is the place for you. It's ours!

It has been a while since I've been here and unfortunately it was not a good experience this time. Everything was cold, the burger bun was hard and fries were cold. The burger was still perfectly edible but definitely will not be back for another visit. The wings were crispy, they were lukewarm and perhaps a little too fatty. Overall, it filled my craving for burger and wings. There is plenty of tables in the main dining area and also have a bar on the other side where you can also seat and enjoy your food.

My wife and I like a good burger and saw a reel on Facebook for The Original Hamburger Works so decided to head down there to try it out. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cool with lots of old signs on the walls for decoration. The menu is pretty straight forward. I had the great big one and my wife had the big one. We both ordered fries and a soda. The food was very good, I liked the fixings bar as I'm picky about how my burger is constructed. The fries were hot and cooked perfectly. The only draw back was 40.00 for two burgers and fries and two sodas. But otherwise we enjoyed our experience and we will return.

The burger and fries combo was $12, plus $4 for drink, so it didn't feel like a deal if you added non water. The burger was cooked perfectly well done for me and they used round bacon. Everything on the fixings bar was fine, but just the basics were there. Felt unnecessary actually. Still, glad to have finally tried the place.

Love this place for a good grilled tasting burger. The place inside is big, has a bar, a few tvs playing sports, plenty of seating, and has old school car stuff as decor around the place. Had a salad bar for all your toppings, the burgers come plain so you can add what you want. The service is quick and has a friendly vibe.

Great burger spot! New to the area so we wanted to checkout a good local spot instead of a chain burger spot. Huge dining area and the restaurant also has a bar. You pay when you order then wait for your name to be called once your food is ready. They have a condiment bar where you prep the toppings you want on your burgers, there's a large selection. There were a lot of people which felt like a good sign, but the service was also quick and easy so we didn't have to wait long for our food. Overall the burgers were really good. You can pick between a 1/2 pound or 1/3 pound burger. They have tons of options on the menu and also sell chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fish and chips and fish sandwiches. The bacon cheeseburger was awesome as the patty was well cooked and seasoned and the bacon was crispy and tasty. The border burger was great too. Tasted home made. The green chiles were big and we wish they had been cut up but very tasty burger. The fries were nice and crispy and well seasoned. The onion rings were okay too, we could tell they got a little cold or that the oil was old so they tasted a bit off but we did go an hour before closing so we think they will be better next time when we go earlier. Overall very happy with finding this new spot for us to get local and homemade burgers. Would definitely recommend and plan to come back!

Hamburger burnt. Ranch dressing was sour. Not enough room to park, people park in handicap with no plaque or license. Ask before using card if there is a charge., they charge for using card. This is a bar atmosphere, serving alcohol. Place is not for kids, & people smoke outside

Amazing portions and smoky flavor. Definitely a local favorite - everyone I saw was a collar worker and the condiments are all self serve which is nice.

This is one of our favorite burger places in Arizona having been here A LOT yet never a review. Here are a few reasons why we come back again and again and again. The menu provides more than adequate options for those who are a little finicky. Burgers, chicken options, several restaurant-popular sides, etc. Burger weights are either 1/4 lb, 1/3 lb, 1/2 lb or the full pounder. How they cook the food is key. They don't use a flattop instead, it's basically BBQ'd using select wood as a heat source. The taste from a well used and seasoned 'pit' (if you will) cannot be described nor replicated so the word "Original" is just that! Remember the failed business Fudruckers where they had a dress-your-own food bar? They have a successful concept with abundant options so you can do whatever you want with dressing your food. Did I mention you have 3 bun options? Onion rings are the BOMB! Crispy on the outside just right I'm on the inside. Fries were buenos too! This place is huge once inside with a lot of seating, atmosphere is fun and creative. It's a win win so come and enjoy! Burp...!!

Came with work team for lunch and meeting. This was my second time here and the first for others. I had the big one with Cheddar and made it my own with the condiment bar...my burger was cooked a tad under so next time will ask for medium well. I don't like pink meat! I also got onion rings and zucchini, both which are perfection! Others got salads, burgers and everyone was sold on the zucchini! Great experience overall!!!

Kids burger with fries special together
    Kimmy H.

Food was delicious you get to add your own toppings at the side bar and the portions are pretty decent. My 11 & 9 year old boys enjoyed the kids burger. I bought the Fiesta burger 1/2lb and fish and chips!

Big one burger, fried zucchini and the toppers (I selected from their condiment wagon)

The only reason I didn't give this updated review a 5-I ordered the banh mi sando and the sandwich was so dry. Chicken was dry. The cilantro wasn't chopped I had to pick out long stems. Also I got the AZ frosè and the rosemary syrup was just way too pungent to enjoy the whole beverage. I wished it had been more balanced. Especially when the French fries are heavily seasoned with rosemary--a bit too much.

Carry On actually called me to confirm our "tickets," which I thought was really cute. The whole experience kind of started a couple of days before our actual "departure time." They also reminded us to park in the Renaissance Square parking garage under Wren & Wolf, and they were able to validate our parking for three hours. We had to go to Wren & Wolf first to pick up our Carry On tickets. We got there early, and they let us relax in their couch area while we waited for our departure time. The walk from the Renaissance Square parking garage to Wren & Wolf was easy. You just follow the signs, and the whole walk is inside the building, which was perfect because it was so hot outside. While we were waiting, we could order drinks and chill, just like being in an airport lounge. When it was time for departure, we walked outside the building, and Carry On was right around the corner. You won't miss it because you'll see the Carry On Air flight schedule above the gate door. Right on time, we were greeted by a friendly flight attendant. Once we walked into the cabin, it really felt like we were inside a first-class flight lounge. Our flight attendant served us drinks right after we sat down, and we also ordered more cocktails and snacks from their menu. The captain spoke to us over the speaker, just like on a real flight. As we took off, we could even feel the seats moving. Looking out the "window," we saw buildings, clouds surrounding us, and even experienced turbulence I'm not going to tell you too much because I don't want to ruin the experience. What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.
