OK...This is a straight up burger joint. Owned and operated by a family. They founded other burger joints like Queens in Pacoima, so they know what they are doing. They had a rough start of it, but they are formulating a place that will serve the Tujunga community for decades. They have a decent menu-burgers, dogs, grilled or fried chicken sandwiches, Mexican (THEY NOW ROLL THEIR OWN TAQUITOS), BLT, salad et al...! Fries and rings are good What I love is that everyone involved is eager to serve and please. They added back Pineapple shakes-yummy. I've eaten here aa few times now. Loved the old fashioned goo grilled cheese on sour dough, the BLT looked a bit short on bacon, but it tasted awesome-tasty bacon, yummy tomato & fresh crunchy lettuce perfectly balanced. I stopped for fries on my way to class a couple times...they kept me waiting for 5 minutes or so...and it was SO WORTH IT- hot, perfectly salted dinner fries. They do use some typical frozen goods here like most of Queens' competition, however, they mix their own sauces like the super spicy cocktail sauce that came with the shrimp dinner my buddy ordered. He couldn't finish it was so much food. It's no In & Out, but the service is Great, they are keeping the Newly renovated store clean, and like I said- I just love good, fun and happy people...who else would you want to prepare your good???

    Ehhhh... Pastrami or uncooked bacon?

Ehhh... Not impressed... They used old fries for my chili fries not fresh fries like they do at the Hat. Chili tasted pretty good but there wasn't enough of it :/ Pastrami burger was very weak tasting and thrown together like a mess. If you guys don't believe me look at my pictures. #BringTroysBack! However, staff was super friendly and service was fairly quick! That's why I'm rating 3 stars.

So much mayo it fell apart! #nasty

I wish I could give it a 2 star but I wasted 20 bucks on 2 dinners I didn't eat!! We haven't eaten here in years, I believe the last time was 2000, Hubby and I decided to take a stab at it and go in. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I ordered a club sandwich, it had so much mayo on it that the sandwich literally fell apart. all you tasted was MAYO. I took one bite and wanted to gag. Onion rings tasted OLD. Burger was just as bad, if you're a mayo fan,. have at it. Besides the food being bad A man lives behind the trash can in a tent?! Is this even legal? Do the owners of the business even care?

I've been meaning to try this place for quite sometime, as it's been in the neighborhood forever, and I have not. They must be doing something right, I reckon. Well, it's not the roast beef sandwich. It's as if they went to their food supplier and ordered "non-perishable roast beef food product." It had no flavor, it was just a bunch of non-lethal meat on an average hoagie. It's probably not fair for me to judge them on a mediocre sandwich, but it left me no reason to go back again.

Despite being so close to a seafood restaurant, I never expected one of my favorite shrimp dishes to come from here. I'm glad I took the chance. The shrimp were tender and full of garlic flavor, and the creamy white wine sauce was rich without being too heavy. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly, and the fresh tomatoes, basil, and Parmesan added just the right balance. The warm French bread was perfect for soaking up every bit of the sauce. This dish completely exceeded my expectations and has earned a permanent spot on my list of favorites. Basin 141 continues to impress with both its consistency and its willingness to surprise.

Because there is a seafood restaurant across the street from Basin 141, I always thought to stick to the excellent dishes I've tried before. However, the description of the Shrimp in the menu made me want to try it. I made the decision and was I delighted. Sautéed Garlic Shrimp in a white wine cream sauce accompanied by perfect al dente spaghetti, tomato and basil with shredded Parmesan and French baguettes. A perfect combination that should be entered in a culinary contest, it was that good. Elliott was the wonderful server who paid great attention to us and while one of our favorite waitresses, Paige has moved on, there is another Paige who was wonderful to us. As Basin 141 turns to another Paige (sorry, I had to), we are as well and are seriously looking to move to Montrose as it's a wonderful town and with this restaurant in the same area, we could become frequent flyers. It may be best known as a bar because of their incredible selections, but this wonderful establishment is a fantastic restaurant with out door seating. We love the Basin 141 experience and will be back again and again.

Dine LA Restaurant Week brought me in!…read more From the Dine LA dinner menu we ordered: wedge salad, and they were kind enough to substitute Gorgonzola instead of Kona for my dry aged NY strip. We also tried some additional appetizers: lobster and crab cakes and double cut smoked bacon. Both delicious. For beverages we tried: the doli, blackberry bourbon sidecar, and capital cosmopolitan. We also tried a glass of wine: DeLille Cellars, Chaleur Blanc. Every drink was amazing. Our server Halina took good care of us along with all of the staff there!

I was impressed with the upscale décor and overall "Men's Grill" steakhouse vibe. The food was generally good but nothing exceptional. We started off with the Caesar salad and the Boston clam chowder. Both were good but, again, nothing exceptional. We then ordered the steak frites and the seared salmon. The steak was perfectly cooked and came with the "stubs" of several russet potatoes. I guess we got the short end of the stick there. There was a really nice herbed mayonnaise sauce that came with the fries and another very good (pistachio?) sauce for the steak. My wife's salmon was decent and came with some broccolini and couscous. But neither dish entered the "fabulous" category. It was my birthday and we were presented with a lovely and very generous dessert of a fudge lava cake and crème Brule. Nice touch! The service was rather lackluster in that our waiter made several gaffs: he forgot about our drink order. He didn't offer fresh cracked pepper for the salad as he did for the table next to us. And he took away my plate before my wife was finished with her course. For a fine dining restaurant removing plates prematurely should never be done unless requested by the customer. But overall, for the price, this was an excellent value!

And he is a French dip connoisseur! He's tried all the regular L.A staples--Philippe's, Cole's, etc.... But he says nothing compares to The Proper. Their burger is also wonderful. I've also had several of their fish dishes and have enjoyed them all. And you must try the warm butter cake. I'm normally a chocolate lover, but I dream about the butter cake from The Proper. I'm not a big drinker, but husband loves their Old Fashions and they have a fully stocked bar with lots of specialty cocktails as well. We love sitting in the long booths, which can comfortably fit our party of 2 adults, 2 kids and often 2 grandparents as well. The service is always wonderful and everyone is very friendly. My only complaint about The Proper is that I hate the parking lot. It's very tight and people don't pull up far enough. But that's a small price to pay for this wonderful local gem.

Lovely, old fashioned diner with exposed brick walls, distressed furniture and a mix of old and new American decor. Very comfortable and homey. The best part was the food though. If you go during the breakfast/brunch rush on the weekends, def take a few deep breaths as there can be a wait. Often, the patio fills up quite quickly. But sometimes it's just the luck of arriving at the perfect moment. As far as the entrees are concerned, I particularly like the Chile Stuffed Skillet when I'm craving a savory breakfast meal. It's made with a pasilla pepper stuffed with bacon, cheddar, and a poached egg. It's baked it in an iron skillet on top of potatoes, and it's topped off with ranchera sauce and sour cream. And let me tell ya, those house-made biscuits are amazing. Warm, crumbly, and melt in your mouth like a good biscuit should. The house-made jams are also a nice treat and feel like having a sample of grandma's (or mom's) kitchen. On of my visits, a friend ordered the Banana Bread French Toast, and it made me wish I had two stomachs so that I could eat that as well. But like a good friend, she noticed that I was eyeing her breakfast like a puppy dog begging from scraps. So she was gracious enough to split some and do a trade with one of my biscuits. I think the trade was quite fair. Next time, we agreed to go halfsies on the Corn Flake Crusted French Toast because they're really exceptional, and the Morning Quiche (which is only served on the weekends).
