I've eaten at this Tommy's since it opened. I have been a Tommy's customer for more than 30 years. I love that breakfast is now available all day, because my favorite thing here is their sausage and egg breakfast sandwich. I get it with mustard, chili, and cheese only, and it's simply the breakfast of champions! Beyond the breakfast sandwich, their hot dogs and chili burgers are worth trying. Everything comes with chili unless you specify otherwise. My wife is starting to shy away from red meat, and has been getting the "cheese sandwich" , which is their classic chili burger with no meat patty. All the Tommy's goodness without the meat! Thank heavens she likes Tommy's, otherwise, I'd be going there myself. The dining room is kept very clean, but I wish they'd wipe tables and seats a bit more often. With few exceptions, the crew here is friendly, fast, accurate, and efficient. The silliest thing about this review is how long I waited to write a review for Tommy's. Long overdue. read more

It's an L.A. institution, the chili cheeseburgers are one of a kind -- delicious, sloppy, great chili which is not too spicy, tomatoes, pickles, more chili..... Every time I go I leave satisfied and ready for a bath. I like the original location on Rampart the best because of the atmosphere, but you don't eat atmosphere and you do eat, or wear, the chili burgers. Yummy. Highly recommended for a fun meal. Had a taste for a Tommy's Chili Cheeseburger. Haven't been there in a while. When I got to Tommy's, I was greeted at the counter by Christy, who is African American with a big, friendly smile. She took my order. As always, I ordered the number 2 without onions. She asked if I would like regular fries or chili French fries ? I ordered the regular fries because I have enough chili on my burger to scoop on my fries (secret). Lol. As usual, the service was great,the food was great. At this Tommy's, I noticed the diversity in the workers, and as an African American, I appreciate places like this that do not discriminate. Stop by the Tommy's in Valencia which is local for.me now. I grew up on Tommy's. The cashier and server Jessica at this location is awesome. Cheerful, pleasant and enjoying her work! Love Original Tommy's Chili! This is my last available Original Tommy's before leaving the SoCal area. Living in NoCal, there is nothing like Original Tommy's chili! This one is conveniently located off the Six Flags Magic Mountain exit from the I-5 freeway. Everything is so delicious with their chili! Food was good as usual, but Emanuel needs to retire. He's too slow and confused, everytime I'm there, which is 2-4 times a month. Air conditioning is down, so it's ridiculous to keep on operating. Never heard of this chain, but I guess it's an institution? Tried the #1 dbl cheeseburger, fries, medium drink. Also got a chili tamale. The burger was pretty tasty with two thin patties. The chili was gooey and oily. The chili fries were also smothered in soft gooey chili and drowning in oil. I did like the thick, soft French fries with plenty of potato in every bite. read more

The worst Tommy's ever. Went here for lunch. While I was ordering a fly landed on the cashier's forehead and stayed there while I was ordering. It really happened and the fly really just sat there staring at me while i ordered. If there are flies on the employees foreheads I can't imagine where else the flies have landed. Tommys is California staple for chili they been around for almost 100 years. When I was kid we would go to original location on rampart. I still believe the original location is the best everything is just fresher since it's so busy. This location comes close 2nd as far as freshness taste and quality. Never do I leave dissatisfied here which is great thing. So many memories made at Tommy's from the nights out if the clubs or after cruising Hollywood blvd on Friday and Saturday nights. All the hottest girls will be hanging out at parking lot eating their burgers while we hit them up for phone number. Oh the good old days but back to food lol it truly hits the spot if your in mood for chili you got burgers, fries, hot dogs and tamales. Everything is good but my fav is burgers and them chili cheese fries tho. Prices are fair till you substitute fries for chili cheese then your clise to $20 bucks which isnt too bad these days. Depending on which family member I am traveling with, this is usually one of our stops whether it's in LA or Long Beach. I decided to walk in and place an order. New COVID rules: - Only a minimum number of people allowed inside the restaurant. - Masks required - Stay on the social distancing stickers (though it's hard for staff to see you if you're quietly waiting). I have to admit, the food was still warm when I got home. I repacked everything in a small cooler bag and no complaints. This Tommy's burger joint is right off I-5 in Valencia near Magic Mountain amusement park. It is a free standing building with a sizable indoor dining area. Great place to sit down in air conditioning and munch down on some Tommy burgers. We were passing through town. We used Yelp to figure out a place for a cheap, fast, and tasty bite to eat. My guy is a displaced Los Angelean that grew up eating Tommy burgers. Nuff said, so when this Tommy's popped up, off we went. All right, if you are not familiar with a Tommy burger, the burgers come layered with beanless chili on top of the patty. Be prepared to get a bit messy with your food in a good way. The buns are grilled and layered with a big ole beefsteak tomato slice, dill pickle slices, chili, and a patty. The $2.85 burger does it for me. It's not the greatest burger I have ever had. But it is tasty and it hits the spot. The prices aren't bad either. The fries are pretty good too, an order is $2.45. It was Saturday early afternoon when we rolled in. The place was clean. Our food came out quick and hot. The older fella bringing the food to the counter from the kitchen was adorably charming. He had a great attitude, very infectious. read more

*** Found napkin/paper towel in my burger *** I'm not sure why I ever continued to give Tommy's my business. This was the third time in a row that they messed up my order. I always ask for no onions and what do they put on my burger. You guessed it - onions. That was the least of my frustrations this time. About halfway through my chili burger, I took a bite and the texture of the meat didn't feel right. I spit the bite out into my napkin, and saw a brown clump. Horrified and wondering what was in my burger and just in my mouth, I pulled on it a little. It unraveled and I realized it was a piece of napkin or brown paper towel! I submitted a complaint to Tommy's corporate website 2 days ago and have not heard anything from them. It's obvious they don't care about the health and safety of their customers. This establishment has the most terrible customer service I have ever had to deal with. The manager was a very unhappy employee and made sure everyone knew it. They got the order wrong. He never repeated it back to me in the first place so I thought he had it down. Wrong. Did not even say sorry for the mix up. The place is very dirty. The food is usually good but not worth dealing with the rude or incompetent employees. The older gentleman seems to need to retire. The corporate is no better. When I let them know my problem took forever to receive a very poorly put together response not professional at all. My teen age son sends a better email. Eat here with caution, my wife's chili burger had a large piece of plastic in it about the size of a silver dollar with numerous smaller bits. We are unsure what it was but it resembled tape wrapped around as a bandaid. Since I began working in Valencia, this has been one of my favorite spots for lunch. I resist coming here every week because the calories don't do me any good. LOL! I never have a problem looking for parking. Existing the parking might be a challenging if you're trying to make a left. Best option is to make a right and do the U-turn at the light. The staff is always very nice. This location is continuously busy, but nonetheless I always see the kitchen staff working really hard. The restaurant is always spotless too! The only thing I see empty at times is the sanitizer dispenser. The only reasons I am giving this place 4 star is because I've observed the same cashier lingers around the counter with persons waiting in line. I've learned to also order exactly what I want with the cashier to make the transaction quicker and more efficient for the both of us. The food is always on point!
