I prefer the 2 first Tommy's but I enjoy the shorter drive. My mom said I could go for a chili cheese dog and fries from Tommy's. I keep driving by thinking some day I should try Tommy's and yesterday was finally the day. My sona and I had a full day of yard work ahead of us so we decided to fill up. I had a regular cheese burger and he had the original chili cheese burger along with an order of fries and a soda. Total cost $12 - not too bad. I have to say, on sight I wasn't sure how he was going to eat that burger. He said he thought the same thing as it looked very messy. Parking here is a huge hassle even when they're not crazy busy. I grabbed a parking spot over by the gas station, there was no sign that said I couldn't, so you better hop on that before they realize it! Decent sized place, indoor and outdoor seating. I think Tommy's is more known for their chilli because their burgers are just okay. Personally I'd rather hit up an in-n-out or for a little more, The Habit. Worst customer service ever! The manager is rude and unfriendly, it is so hot in the building. They say the ac is broken we have been coming here for the past year the ac is still broken. We arrive this Sunday for a snack of chili cheese fries on our way home at 3pm. The restaurant had just a few people inside eating. All the empty tables were dirty and we asked for them to clean one off for our family to sit at and eat and the guy behind the counter threw us a white towel to clean it ourself. 15 minutes went by and we did not get our number called so we went up and asked what happened, they said ours is next. Yes, I know this locating is in Ventura. Yes, I'm still reeling over their decision to switch from Pepsi to Coca-Cola a few years back. One can not be considered a true Angelino, nor can one claim to ha visted the City of Angles unless they have consumed one if the City's greatest gift to the burger world. Original Tommy's, branded by its signature red shingle "shack" is a quintessential LA experience. Like all the Bruce Lees that popped up following the kung fu master's demise, if it isn't a red shack, you've been had. The burgers all come standard with pickles, onions, tomato, and mustard but it is the chili-also standard-that makes this burger stand above the rest of the fast food burger nation. It is not gourmet and has never attempted to be. This is a working man's, stick to your ribs burger that doubles as City Boy comfort food. Let's no forget the burger's best friend the humble French fry. Normally, I am not a fry dude, but these deep fried delights call to me in my sleep. Not thin and not too thick. I have to say, our burger and chili was luke warm, kinda freaked me out after reading the Situasian's review and yes, my tummy got the gurgles as well. Fries were hot and good. I ordered a strawberry shake and it seems they did not add enough strawberry syrup because the bottom half was bitter and just tasted like thick milk. The chili that is supposed to be what makes Tommy's so great mirrored your standard, cheap can of chili located at the market. This place is by far the sketchiest business in Ventura, if you're all for chilli in your food this place is great, but the people running this business if you work or have worked here are horrible people to work for. Over all, the food is mediocre. And some of the stuff workers do to your food will make you physically sick. We use the same thermometer we use to check the temperature of raw meat to check the sauce we serve on burgers without cleaning it. Me personally, I would run it under scolding hot water to try burning off the bacteria before putting the needle in the sauce, but I don't know how much that worked.
