Things were good...until they weren't. We've been with Orkin for a while, and initially they were good about coming out on our scheduled day, our regular tech showed up on time every time, and then one day he kinda just stopped showing up, which sucked, because we liked him and had established a good working relationship with him. He'd call us if he was running behind or if he couldn't make it on the scheduled day. So then it seemed like no one came out for a couple of months, or if they did, we had no idea they were because we never saw them/they never communicated. On the days they would call us and let us know they were coming it was always someone different. They never come on days that are convenient days, so we can't have them come inside and treat inside because we are either not home or are not prepared. At least with our scheduled days we'd be able to prepare. One of the things I liked about Orkin was that we could schedule touch up services at no attritional cost, but every single touch up service I've scheduled was not fulfilled. Defeats the purpose of having any kind of pest control if they don't come out and control the pests. read more

**Update:** After weeks of waiting, the manager finally responded. The manager, Luis Ramirez, is also the same person who came to my home, took pictures of the damage, and took away the paint chips and pieces of textured wall that were found on my carpet during the inspection. Despite seeing the damage himself and having the evidence in his possession, Luis Ramirez denied that Orkin's inspector caused the damage. His explanation made absolutely no sense. When someone leans a telescoping ladder against a textured wall and puts his body weight against that ladder while climbing into an attic, how is it possible that the wall would not be damaged? What is even more disappointing is that Luis Ramirez was the person responsible for handling my complaint. Instead of taking responsibility and trying to resolve the issue, he denied that any damage occurred from their inspection. Based on my experience, I do not believe Luis Ramirez was honest or forthcoming in handling this matter. If this is how a manager handles customer complaints and property damage, it raises serious concerns about how this location operates. A customer should be able to trust that their home will be treated with care and that the company will take responsibility when their service causes damage. I have tried to resolve this matter directly with Orkin, but I have been unable to reach a fair resolution. I will now be pursuing legal action against Luis Ramirez and this Orkin location to recover the cost of repairing my damaged wall. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in this company. I contacted orkin for a termite inspection. I went with their advice for $1,600.00 spot spraying, unfortunately the termites were back in weeks, like nothing happened. Orkin came out to spray the outside of my house, that day it was drizzling, the Orkin tech told me , drizzle helps the poison absorb in the ground better, that spaying in the drizzle was ok. When I called about the termites coming back, they told me I didn't have a warranty, that my paper work was not done correctly and no warranty. One tech did come out, he drilled a few holes in my shower grout said nothing more he could do. That second mini spraying did absolutely nothing! My plan going forward, with the help of Good Sense Termite, who did a total inspection and tented my house after Orkin spraying did absolutely nothing. Is to file a complaint with the state and let them know all the things Orkin did wrong. I also want to add, 2 of the 3 employees of Orkin were VERY strange and made me a bit uncomfortable. Especially the inspector( he could not make eye contact and told me, not to watch him while he works, that it makes him uncomfortable, that his ladder was not in his opinion OSHA safe, he spoke out loud to himself the entire inspection ) and the man who sprayed the poison outside my house in the drizzle. ( he looked homeless and hung over, messy hair, messy work clothes and unshaven) Just because the company comes with a name you recognize, that does not mean they do quality work! I set an appointment up for a bed bug evaluation. David was nice and honest. I did not have bed bugs but said if I was worried I could schedule just a 3 week preventative spray. I've been a customer of Orkin since 2004--over 20 years of quarterly service and thousands of dollars spent. Unfortunately, the past year has made it clear how ineffective and unaccountable this company really is. Since last spring, we've had a persistent ant infestation in our home, especially in the kitchen. Orkin has come out multiple times, applying the same baits and gels that only work for a couple of weeks--if at all. Nearly a year later, the problem is still not resolved. What's worse, the guidance is all over the place. One technician even told us to caulk all the perimeters of our house ourselves, while others claimed nearby colonies were "treated." Clearly, none of this is working. When I tried to escalate, I couldn't even get a supervisor to call me back. When someone finally did respond, I was told they've "done all they can" and no longer treat colonies near a tree. After two decades of loyalty, this is the level of service you get--ineffective treatments, excuses, and zero accountability. I regret every dollar spent and would strongly warn others to look elsewhere if they want a problem actually solved. read more

So far I cannot reach anyone as my job is not done. Any one I talk to does not have time for me. I talked to service to set up a time to finish. They set up a time and no one came. I called them again and I got the boss of the portion that was done and he said call service again and I asked him to set up as he was boss on previous portion, disgruntled he said OK. NOTHING done at all. I called service talked with someone and I asked him to get me Long Trinh, the person that set up the job and what? NOTHING. This company uses tricky tactics to keep you on contract. I requested my contract to end after the year I had signed up for and they continued to charge me. I called to have this charge reversed and they instead sent me another invoice. I then had to call again and wait on hold for 20 minutes for them to finally figure it out. I'm appalled by my recent experience with Orkin. I suspected a drywall termite issue and gave the company another try after swearing them off previously. Big mistake. Robert Lewis showed up for an inspection that lasted 10 minutes. He didn't enter the attic or crawl space--he just glanced at the wall, took a photo, and quoted me $5,000+ for fumigation. He pushed for same-day agreement without even mentioning the requirements: vacating the home for 2-3 days, removing all pets/plants, unlocking every door. I was shocked. When I called Orkin to clarify, I was told an inspection should take 1-1.5 hours and include attic/crawlspace review. I requested a second opinion. That's when Derrick Nesbitt entered the picture, and things went from bad to disturbing. He showed up a day early without asking, saying "we're busy tomorrow so I came today." When I said I wasn't home, he spoke over me and acted inconvenienced--despite being uninvited. The next day, he returned and began trashing his colleague, claiming he trained him and would use my complaint to "leverage a better deal." Again, he didn't inspect the crawl space or attic. I tried to show him the crawl space access; he moved things back over it and later falsely claimed it was "inaccessible"--even though his report included a photo of the clothes that were in front of it. He told me he didn't need to access those areas but later lied in the documentation. He then invited himself to sit at my kitchen table and pressured me to sign over 30 documents, claiming "you're not agreeing to anything" and saying "if you read all this, we'll be here 12 years." I told him multiple times I needed time. Out of frustration--and with Ring footage of him saying I wasn't committing--I signed just to get him to leave. Two hours later, he called saying, "We'll be there Friday at 9am." I reminded him I hadn't agreed to any treatment yet. He snapped, "Well, you signed, so you did." I said I still needed time. He said, "Then let me know by tonight." When I later said I'd prefer the Termidor injection treatment (which is less disruptive), he immediately said, "You know it's the same cost, right?" I told him, "No, it's not--your colleague sent me pricing last week and it's cheaper." He sighed and said, "I can't believe he did that," clearly annoyed I had actual numbers. He said he'd come Monday to "sign new forms." I asked if they could be emailed since I work full time--suddenly that was an option. But then, without confirmation, he showed up again at my home Tuesday. I saw him on my Ring cam. He left a voicemail saying he was "just stopping by" to check if I signed. He later blamed "company pressure" for his behavior. At this point, his actions went from pushy to frightening. As a woman, I am genuinely scared knowing this man has my address and continues to show up without warning. If he comes again, I will contact the authorities. He also conveniently made most aggressive statements over the phone--not in writing--like he knew to avoid leaving a record. This entire experience felt coercive and manipulative. My husband and I will never work with Orkin again. I've kept screenshots, footage, and voicemails. I don't write reviews lightly--but this one needed to be said. read more

They got rid of the ants. I will give them that. But they misinformed me about the costs. They said it was one fee for 6 visits in a year. But no, after the payment of 416 USD. And suddenly 1 visit later I get an additional bill for 64 USD, and then another one for 129USD all within the space of 3 months. So 193 USD extra. When I called no one could tell me why but also no one so far, 2 months later has been able to let me cancel my contract. They also only gave me half a copy of the contract, so in my copy all those extra fees were not in there. I have now refused to pay until I have in writing that I will not get more invoices from them that I did not agree to and I am getting 2-5 calls a day about my outstanding fees while in 2 months no one can help me terminate my contract. I feel duped, overcharged, and harassed by now. I just want to NEVER EVER hear from this company again. They are scammers! read more

I work with this poor excuse of a company for several years. I am a property manager where I live and these guys have a thing to not make appointments when they say they going to come and by the looks from the other reviews not showing up is one thing they cant get right. it takes a lot of work and paperwork and coordinating to get ready for treatment specially with multiple units. now its the Monday before thanksgiving holiday and we likely wont get appointment until next week. After researching we decided to go with Orkin for our ant problem at our house in Milpitas. They were scheduled to come out yesterday and the technician called right before coming out. He, Danny, said he had to review a few things first. We went over price quotes, the types of service, and the contract. He said "you know this is a one year contract, right?" I told him "yes, but I was told I could cancel at anytime as long as I give 30 days notice ". He immediately said that he needed to contact his supervisor and that he'd call me back. After waiting for 10 minutes, I called what I thought was the local Orkin number. As soon as I mentioned what I was calling about they shifted me over to a "support" member. While I was waiting for that person to come on, I got a text from Danny saying "you might have called a call center and they are not too good with California laws and how operate here. ". He then said I could cancel or pay $350 for him to come out. BAIT AND SWITCH!!! Just then the support person came on the phone. I explained everything, including the text. Her only response was "well we sometimes can cancel but it's up to the local office if you try to and there could be many reasons why they won't honor that. I was fuming. I took time off of work to be there when the technician was to come. Gathered up my 3 cats into carriers. She then told me the same thing about charging me $350 for them to still come out. I told her this was Bait & Switch and all she could say was "sorry you feel that way". I asked to speak to a manager. She put me on hold for 7 minutes and came back to say he couldn't take my call and that he could call me in about 24 hours. Orkin said they were going to come to my house this past Friday afternoon to do an assessment. That same Friday morning a man by the name of Russell called me to say they were actually coming to spray later that day and that my kids and cats needed to be gone for two hours. This wasn't going to work so he said he could come the next day between 8AM-2PM or the following weekend - my choice. I called my girlfriend to see what worked best for us and we agreed to go with the next day. I texted Russ just like he asked me to, to come the next day - he said he would. He never showed. He didn't answer my text, phone call, or return my voicemail. What a great first impression - stay away. Go with someone else like Dewey. read more

8 months ago I gave Orkin a 5 stat review on Google Maps. I had a great technician. He came on Wednesday's as requested. Then he moved. Since then they have sent several different technicians. I have called and complained about service etc. Today a Friday Orkin scheduled my service so I took the day off to be home. I have a dog and he needs to be put inside. The technician never called. I heard my dog barking saw the Orkin truck called my dog inside and went out to meet the Orkin Technician only to find he left. I called Orkin and asked for the branch manager. They said the manager was busy and would call me back. No one ever called me back so I guess they don't care. I started Orkin service because I have a young daughter and my wife and daughter are terrified of spiders and my wife hates spider webs. So I asked for treatment and dewebbing. We used the service all winter hoping we could get a jump on spring time. I'll attach some pictures so you can see the work Orkin provides. Please not I use Orkin Professional services for the BioMed company that I am the director of Facilities. Their professional service is great. The home services are poor. See the pictures. Orkins quoted $50 discount if service rep did not use ladder to terminate wasp. He did not but Orkins ignored my requests for $50 refund despite 3 phone calls and 3 emails. These guys are pros in scaring people and over charging. I came across this sales guy called Andy. Highly rude and not ready to listen. They sent an "expert" Mr Russ who came home for inspection and acted like the "Pied Piper of Hamelin". Eventually he made it look as if the house was inhabitable due to rats and showed me a quote of 24000 usd for sanitization. I requested another agency to inspect and told them the problem, they did a thorough inspection, turned out there was a minor problem that they solved. Stay away from Orkin. Orkin bought the previous pest control company we went with for 15 years (SOS Pest Control). Night and day difference. They harass the HELL out of you if you're behind by even a SINGLE payment. They call me while I'm at work to tell me I'm late with my bill. Who does that?! I've told them REPEATEDLY to not call me with billing stuff. They're more than welcome to email me. But they continually do it. They don't spend adequate time spraying either. We now have an ant and cockroach issue going on. Thanks Orkin. I pay you $108/service for what, exactly? When you actually need pest control, they are not really there for you. They don't have appointment time for days by then you can figure things out on your own using You tube or Google. Their customer care is terrible. No access to supervisors. Apparently all the supervisors are in all day meetings. My biggest pet peeve is when they give you a two hour window and at the end of the 2 hours, you get a call saying the tech won't be coming. No value for the customer's time. Would not recommend ORKIN. read more

Billing is even worse they don't send monthly bills until you call and remind them. Basically your their accountant for free. This review is for Ron of Orkin from department 437. We had a very bad issue with millipedes at our apartments and Ron went above and beyond in finding a solution. Millipedes are very resilient and difficult to control, after implementing the tried and true methods and only getting minor results, Ron found a different way to treat our specific issues. He kept me informed in each step along the way, from whether I should be worried about the chemicals used since I have a dog to a detailed and quite interesting lesson in what millipedes are and what they do! He even went on his own time and contacted personal friends of his for advice and information on these little buggers and found a specific solution for our problem. Not only that, he is great to talk to! An interesting man with a clear passion in customer service! It is also very clear that he is a no nonsense type of worker who takes pride in not only working hard but working smart. I wish I had read these reviews before I contracted with this horrible office. I have been having treatment for moles or gophers for for seven months with absolutely no improvement. When I tried to cancel the service they said I am not able to do so until after 12 months. So, I have to pay for a service that does NOTHING. That is a scam. Most unprofessional firm. I waited for two hours and the technician Javier never showed. I called in to check and was told that the appointment was not set up correctly. He is very knowledgable and it was so refreshing to see how much pride he takes in quility of his work. The ants were mostly gone after his first visit. We were unhappy with our previous pest control company, so we called Orkin on O'Toole Ave in San Jose. A representative came to our house to discuss our needs (with no charge), then scheduled someone to come out the next day. Mark McDonald arrived on time, discussed the specifics of where the problems were, and then set out to take care of them. He did everything we asked for. He then scheduled a return visit for three days later to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We received emails along the way confirming appointments, telling us when Mark was on his way, and then afterwards with the receipt. Everything was very professional and customer-oriented. This was much better than our previous firm (also a name brand) as well as significantly less expensive. read more
