I went to a game back on Tuesday, September 27th. I grabbed a bunch of food with the roommate while Peter L and Bobby L ventured off to grab their own dinner. Peter came back with Jerk chicken nachos and Bobby had Chicharrones with chili-lime salt. I believe this was around 8:15pm. The nachos were a good portion. The chicken was nice and smokey. The cheese was delicious! I love nacho cheese and this did not disappoint. You really get a lot of toppings on this dish. Good for sharing. The chicharrones were delicious as well. I took my Dad to the game the other night and all I could think about what was what to eat during the game. It had been a long day and I was so hungry. We were running late, so I waited until about the 6th inning to get some food. I have been here enough times and am finally getting a chance to write this review. First off, Orlando's Caribbean BBQ is located at one of the most beautiful ballparks in the United States, AT&T Park home of the San Francisco Giants. Secondly, if you get a chance to grab a bite here at least once I would say DO IT! I have always been a fan of the jerk nachos here because you get a heavy load, literally! The weight of the nachos is fairly hefty in comparison to other vendors in the ballpark. I would actually consider the nachos from here as being equal to that of a small meal. You get halfway into it and you think you're done and then you look down and realize you aren't even close. You definitely get your money's worth when you come here. Ballpark food is going to be expensive but if you are going to pay a lot for some food you might as well get something that is going to fill you up, hold you over, and enjoy with a BEER! We dined her at the recommendation of a friend, whose also an Elite Yelper. I shared with her that my husband was from the Bronx and makes jerk from scratch all the time. She said the jerk at Orlando's was awesome so we were eager to give it a try while enjoying the Yankees beat the Giants (he he). We ordered the cha cha bowl and the chimichanga. The bowl was a sore disappointment. The rice was not cooked in coconut milk and the black beans tasted canned (Caribbean restaurants make rice and peas...this was not traditional rice and peas to any degree). No thyme or other seasonings as is the norm in traditional Caribbean dishes. We had one piece of pineapple in our bowl, one. The meat tasted like it had been dusted or lightly seasoned, not marinated in wet jerk marinade. Generous shareable portion, but a zero on flavor. If you know Jamaican food, it's all about showcasing the layers of flavor. The chimichanga was good, really good, but not what I'd call Caribbean inspired either. The hot melted cheese, tender chicken breast (seemingly seasoned the same way as the cha cha bowl chicken), lightly crispy tortillas and the delicious salsa made it a really good chimichanga. Big portion so like the bowl completely shareable (in other words the bowl and the chimichanga is a lot of food for two but we didn't know any better lol). Eh, from the reviews everyone likes the rice bowl for the quantity. I agree for the price the quantity is good for a fulling meal. But I found it rather on the bad end. The bowl's flavor is added by the sauce you add to it. After eating it, I found the chipotle sauce to not be spicy at all. Quite a disappointment for me, as I wanted the fire. After looking at my partners fried chicken stripes, we switched meals and I finished his. This was more satisfying. Think burrito bowl with jerk chicken and the amazing zucchini pineapple carrot salsa. I don't know how they cut the veggies into noodle shape but it's great. Portable and potent. The cold shredded veggies served on top of the bowl were nothing special. Bland taste, no sauce. There were other pickled veggies that are served only with the nachos, they would have probably added flavors to the bowl... The beans at the bottom were OK. Came to this place on Friday night. It is located behind the outfield. It's kinda crowded back there. There wasn't a line really, which was surprising. I had the cha cha bowl. It contained grilled chicken, pineapple-zucchini salsa, rice, and beans. The veggies kinda reminded me of tsukemono. The entire dish reminded me of Chipotle. Probably my only complaint about it was that the chicken was dry. The cha cha bowl was tasty, and I finished it all. I was still hungry after, though, so the portion isn't the largest. You will probably need to get something else to eat with it too. It's hard to believe that food as good as this is in a ballpark. The price was expensive at $11, but at least it wasn't like $18 or so for a crab sandwich. The next time I come to At&T I'll probably get the cha cha bowl again. It's white rice, black beans, grilled chicken, sauteed veggies, and a just a dab of fresh pineapple salsa. They have 2 kinds of bbq sauces on the side to add. It's $10, which sounds expensive, but really not compared to everything else being sold, and it's a good amount of food. I was full for the whole game, except to munch on some pistachios that I brought myself. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they didn't offer brown rice as an alternative. I suppose I could have just told them no rice, but I thought I'd try it exactly how it's made to give a complete review. But AT&T Park offes a few things that make it stand out from the rest and Orlando's Caribbean BBQ definitely hits the spot. The Cha Cha Bowl is a great tasting, filling and hot bowl of food that's healthy! Yes, healthy! At the ballpark! It comes with rice, black beans, moist and flavorful grilled chicken breast and a salsa made of cooked zucchini, carrots, onions and pineapple. Four sauces are available - jalapeno, chipotle, habanero and BBQ. I decided to add generous amounts of the chipotle and BBQ sauces before mixing everything up. Wow. The combination was simply delicious and one of the best things I've eaten at this ballpark. The portion was big enough that I couldn't finish the entire thing and even though I was surrounded by the scent of garlic emanating from all those trays of fries, I was satisfied with that bowl of yummy goodness. Just the perfect thing on a cold and windy night! For the money ($9.75), quality and flavor, this bowl is a bargain. Not being much of a meat eater at a ball game can be kinda a bummer...I still don't understand why the assumption that vegetarians want to eat "veggie dogs" and "veggie burgers" exists. I've been a season ticket holder for two years now and it's been tradition for me to get a Cha Cha bowl evertime I'm at the yard. Sadly, the last two times I've been there, on 8/2 & 8/25, I've gotten food poisoning. Rather than settling for mediocre ballpark food, tried the Cha Cha Bowl and it was yummy and filling. I was a bit over zealous with the chipotle BBQ sauce and it was surprisingly spicy (and I can usually handle spicy). Tip: View Level stand only has the Cha Cha Bowl. What do you do when your company rents out AT&T park for a private event and all the food is completely free? Go to those expensive vendors that you've always wanted to try, but never got the chance to, of course! I read about this place before and all the rave reviews for the Cha Cha Bowl, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm not sure if the serving portion was the same as you would get during a ball game, but they filled a styrofoam bowl with a scoop of white rice, a helping of black beans, about ten pieces of diced chicken breast, and a pineapple-zucchini salsa mixture. It was the perfect amount to keep me full for the rest of the afternoon without making me full (I didn't finish all the rice, but I had half of a churro from a different stand instead). The chicken was pretty dry probably because it's cooked and then heated to keep it warm while it sits to be plated. I didn't put any sauce on it, bit now I'm thinking I should have... Didn't even cross my mind at the time. The savers of the dish were the pineapple-zucchini salsa and the black beans. Both were tasty! And when they sat atop the bed if white rice, some of the juices seeped down and flavored the top layer. My +1 got the nacho option and he seemed pretty satisfied even though they didn't look like anything special.
