I usually will choose a safety carne asada something when trying out a new place, along with at least one pork something, usually carnitas, as those are mostly "safe," for me and my food intolerances, and that's just what I did here. I saw there were elotes and considered that as well, but I also noted this place was a bit on the expensive side for street tacos, so my temptation did not get the better of me there. If I go back, I will probably give those a whirl. Alas, that is the big question...if I go back. I did enjoy the carne asada taco, but had what was the worst al pastor taco I've ever experienced and then followed that up with arguably the worst carnitas I've ever had...so, because I'm feeling charitable as I pound the keys for this, I'm chocking it up to me just ordering the wrong thing(s). There is a respectable menu and a decent additions cooler, so if I do go back, I'll definitely try some of the other stuff, but I can't say I'm in a hurry to do that and will probably drive by this place a whole bunch more first.

The green was good. Now the crema sauce was my favorite, it is really excellent. Nice restaurant, comfortable chairs, nice decor that goes along with their theme. Looks like a comfortable bar. The food is still very good here and some of my previous gripes are no longer an issue. I can now order tacos and burritos à la carte again. While there is still no way to go pick whatever salsa I want and the options are still more limited than before, at least they bring out 3 of my favorites with the chips now. The drinks are still just okay , a shadow of their former selves and I will never be able to accept the loss of my beloved watermelon margarita, the way they used to make it, but I will concede the drinks are decent. Service was fine. Parking is a hassle but that's just Sugarhouse. ‍ So yeah, I guess I'm back to "willing to eat here once in a while", from "I'm never eating here again". They even have a nice taco Tuesday deal which I may hit up in the near future.
