Pale microwaved chicken and rice with no crispy bits or char.
    Britt B.

Osaka served me absolute garbage today. I am quite certain that if I had eaten it, I would have gotten sick. I used to live nearby and Osaka was known to be the crème de la crème in the Mill Creek area. They got so popular that the owner had to sell because she felt like she was getting carpal tunnel. I know that because I found her in her new restaurant a couple towns over and she told me. She also said that they sold the recipes to the new owner. Granted this was about 3-4 years ago that I talked to her, so I'm not sure if these are still those same "new" owners or someone else, but figured how different could it be? Suffice it to say that this was nothing like the Osaka I used to know. When I walked in, it was completely empty, and I stood there for several minutes until someone finally came from the back room and asked for my order. I ordered chicken teriyaki which was $13.99 - which may be on the high side for lunch time but still reasonable. I wanted to upgrade to brown rice but they charged a whopping $3.50 so I stuck with white rice. She then asked me to pay cash to avoid a surcharge for using a card. One lunch teriyaki and a can of soda plus tip was $20 because I paid cash. As soon as I sat down, I heard the unmistakable beeping of a microwave. Oh, I thought... "I hope that's not for me"... But sure enough within seconds, my food came out. It wasn't even minutes, it was seconds - I hadn't even gotten my jacket off yet. Osaka used to serve dine-in orders on largest ceramic white plates, but this came in a plastic containers just like take out. I opened it and I IMMEDIATELY smelled the off putting smell of microwaved chicken. It smelled putrid and had no discernible char on it. Normally, I'm someone who will talk to the restaurant before blasting them on Yelp, especially if it's a small family owned restaurant, but this was so egregious that I just walked out and here I am. I left the chicken completely untouched and on the table just like in this pic. The rice also smelled funky. I ate the salad but it was over the top watery and I wish I hadn't. I'm certain I was sold the leftovers from yesterday. I know that smell and I heard them nuke it. And as I now sit here at Thai Bistro down the street, I'm still sickened to think that they sell food in that condition to people.

Beer can teriyaki container comparison. I'm not crazy. It's a tiny box.

Updating review to 5 stars. The guy is funny. He has funny pricing. But he's the only one I've ever found who makes a chicken breast katsu. His food is good too. And I've learned he a nice man. You have to order large size if you want traditional big American portions.

For the price its soo much food. The food quality is good and when you buy one entree you get a free soda! So every entree you get one free drink each. It is so good! Hope you guys try it out and enjoy!

YUM. I was in denial about this place right up until the food was brought out. I didn't think it would be that good. But it was! Portions are really big and the presentation of food is on point. I got the chicken teriyaki and it was wonderful! The chicken is fresh and cooked the right way. It has that slightly tougher outside with a soft, tender inside that is juicy and full of flavor! That's how chicken should be. They know how to do it here. The sauce is perfect too. It comes with sticky rice that you can tell is cooked the right way without shortcuts. So tasty. It also comes with a basic salad. All for just under $10. Great deal. I will be back to try the Mongolian Beef! Authentic place but not my favorite atmosphere. I give this place 4.5 stars.

I repeat. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Horrible I tried to order DoorDash again from this place and found bugs in my food. Literally I sound fruit flies in my rice please absolutely disgusting do not go here!!!

Recently moved down the street from this place so my girlfriend and I decided to give it a shot. We ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki/tempura combo after a coarse greeting from the woman at the counter. $15 for a rather skimpy portion and we were relatively satisfied with the quality. Being that I'm a people person, I'm sticking with my 3 star rating because I really didn't feel welcome at all. And idk if they didn't make it very spicy cause I'm white af or what but they certainly went easy on the hotness scale.

Bento box and chicken breast teriyaki ... Great teriyaki!!

It was light and fluffy and full of flavor. It came with a traditional cabbage salad which was very refreshing. The udon curry was right up my wife's alley, and I do like curry but I'm not the biggest udon noodle fan. It still was very full of flavor and delicious. Side note, the dressing or sauce that was in the table was let me say to die for. We put it on everything. If I had it on hand all the time it would probably be a condiment that I used on a very regular basis. The service was top notch and our server was very sweet and patient. We took awhile to look over the whole menu and there are so many things that I would come back for just to try. The only let down was the edamame as it is a staple that we usually order at any restaurant when available. They were very hot and cold and felt like it was a frozen edamame that was nuked in the microwave. The establishment itself was very modern looking with a very clean vibe. We will definitely be back. This is definitely a spot in lynnwood that needs more love from people. Then again, it could be packed all the time, but we were there very early on Mother's Day.

I especially loved that we got to grind the toasted sesame seeds ourselves, which added a fresh, nutty aroma and made the experience feel even more traditional. Parking was easy with free retail garage parking. Overall, a great experience!

Yet, it's disappointing to say that we've been sourly disappointed the last 2-3 times we came here. Not sure if it's management change or something happened, but Nakagawa lost its magic with us. 1. The service has been terribly slow and just not inviting anymore. After ordering, we waited easily 35-40 min for the food. I know it takes time to meticulously prep rolls, but after 30 min of just sitting and waiting, you can't help but start feeling hangry. And this isn't just a one-time occurrence - this happened multiple times for us. 2. The bento box quality. I LOVE bento boxes - it was such a treat to dine on so many different Japanese options, like a sampler box of goodness. Ranging from nigiri to sushi, from tempura to the soup, bento boxes have a special place in my heart. Yet, I feel like Nakagawa's bento boxes have sadly missed that mark. The protein (chicken teriyaki/katsu) tastes old and oddly mushy, and the portions are quite small, just leaving me wanting more. Don't get me wrong - the fish is still good. Solid place for seafood, paired with a lengthy wait. But Nakagawa just lost its touch with us, and driving that 30-35 min trek is not worth it for us anymore.

We really enjoyed their more simple rolls-- the spicy tuna was outstanding. The suicide roll was also a surprise favorite, and actually had some decent spice! The firecracker roll was a bit of a letdown, it just wasn't anything special compared to some of their low-cost rolls. Not worth the upgrade in my opinion. They have a TON of veggie and vegan options, alongside the classic faves and some beef entrees. I am also gluten free, and they have gluten free options labeled clearly online. Tons of options for gluten free too! The takeout site was super easy, but I will say that it had different pricing depending on if you accessed it through their site, google, or a third party. The cheapest option (by a few dollars per roll) was to access pickup directly through their website. Glad I saw that and caught it before ordering. I got there right at the time of my pickup and the food was ready shortly after. They packaged the two veggie rolls in one box, and the two fish in another. She got the ACC roll which was basic and satisfying. She also loved the green dragon. I got spicy tuna which had a bit too much tuna for my taste, and I LOVED red dragon roll. The staff inside was quick and friendly. It looked like they were pretty busy, but managing the crowd well. The place wasn't too loud and seemed to have a great lunch vibe. While I usually get sushi for pickup to eat on the couch, I definitely would consider eating in person.

On my fourth and final visit I found a hair sticking out from one of my pieces of nigiri. I ordered a replacement and the next piece of nigiri that came out had something in the flesh that should have never been sent out, so I sent that back too and asked for my check immediately.
