I find all Chinese buffets to be quite standard. Some selection of deep fried foods and sushi and a hibachi/Mongolian grill station. Osaka is not much different (despite its name, Osaka is more of a Chinese buffet than a Japanese buffet). The prices are pretty cheap, especially for the lunch buffet. Unfortunately I didn't have time to sit down so I had to take my food to go, and ended up paying the same amount as the lunch buffet except I had less food. The hibachi was actually quite good, although had a limited selection of proteins with just shrimp, beef and chicken (and imitation crab). The sushi looked pretty bad, either falling apart or deep fried or both. I don't think they have the nigiri at lunch. The actual food options didn't appeal to me much - there was an entire row of just deep fried foods, and then another row of American Chinese food. The fish and this imitation crab stir fry thing though we're surprisingly good. There were also some raw mussels / seafood near the desserts. It's pretty much what you're expecting from an strip mall Chinese restaurant in the South. Temper your expectations and you'll be fine. read more

My family and I like Chinese buffets. Some places do bad buffets. Either the general Tsaos is constantly watery, or the crab casserole is oily. This place had all my favorites, done right. They had a couple varieties of chicken wings as well that were well fried. The buffet was a good size, but seemed a bit smaller than most. We didn't see plantains which my daughter loves. The cold bar was large and there was a lot of sushi. We don't eat it, but there was a lot. They even had 6 ice cream selections. This will likely be our go to Chinese buffet in Myrtle beach going forward. The building was clean, the waitress was nice and kept our drinks full. Give it a shot. read more

My buddy told me about this place so we checked it out for lunch today. He likes it a lot, works around the corner and eats here twice a week. I thought it was ok, but I don't think I'll be back (I'm not a huge fan of Chinese buffets to begin with). What's interesting about this place is hibachi is offered. You can pick steak, shrimp, or crab, along with a variety of vegetables, rice or noodles, and they will cook it for you on the spot. This is included in the $11-12 buffet charge. The steak is pretty good, but pass on the crab. As far as the general buffet, I wasn't impressed with the General Tso's chicken, and that is something I usually enjoy. The egg rolls were also blah. I did like the honey chicken, that was the only thing I took seconds of. They also had these beef filled pastry things (the name is escaping me at the moment) that were good. In addition, this place offers a wide variety of sushi that my buddy enjoyed, but I chose to pass. I guess if you enjoy Chinese buffets, then Osaka might be a winner. If you don't typically enjoy buffets, go elsewhere. read more

It's far from authentic or even "Chinese" cuisine. But, it's good food for the price. The sushi and grill make it 4-star. The standard-fare buffet part would be three by itself. It's not as top-drawer as are the menu type places or a fine Japanese steakhouse - it's just a cliche Chinese food buffet highly Americanized for the tourist crowd. A huge plus is that they can easily seat a large group and there's rarely a wait for a seat. It's also pretty easy to get to from the beach. Food is just ok, your ordinary chinese buffet. Server was rude and obnoxious. He literally yelled at me at the end that he wanted the check slip, he said "RECEIPT" "RECEIPT"!! I don't know his name, but the receipt says server #9. We are new to the area and were looking for a new place, but believe me, we are NOT going back there. On my way out, I said "have a nice night" first to a girl at the counter near the door, and then she mumbled back "good night" without a smile or even picking her head up from whatever she was reading. It was pretty hit or miss with the food. Had some rolls I liked, went back up and got the same thing and it wasn't as good. Overall the food was decent. The hibachi was great, the food on the bar was okay and the deserts were good. I'd come here if I was hungry and trying to eat for $13 per person, but I wouldn't come here on a first date. We went to Osaka expecting a standard Chinese buffet, and was not disappointed. The sushi was average, the hibachi good, and the hot buffet items varied and enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the hot and sour soup. We went on a Thursday night, and everything was fresh and obviously turning over often. Service was great for me, my wife and my son -- the waitress was otustanding. If we were locals to Myrtle Beach, I could see us coming here at least a few times a year. Been here yesterday. A lot of parking space. Shopping area. The restaurant is big with plenty of seats. The quality of food is good and the staff is friendly. Not such a big variety of sushi but well prepared. There are lots of options, I'll give it that, but the food tasted like it was made 3 days ago and reheated over and over. There were some things that had been up there so long that it was either falling apart or difficult to chew. Sanitation was also in question as there were a few things not underneath the glass hood. They got a mix of Sushi, Chinese & American & they really do well with the variety of the product & the foods options & such but in the end she works out well & yes they do got ice cream which I'll say is great. Food is subpar. But the worst part was when I went to the restroom and saw a waitress come out of a stall. She "washed" her hands for less than 2 seconds AND didn't use any soap. I saw mixed reviews but knowing how terrible some people can be, we decided to try it anyway. I'm so glad we did! The staff were so nice, and kept checking in with us. The buffets were filled with such a variety! And although I do not eat sushi, my daughters were very pleased. The sushi selection was also great! Way too many choices to leave dissatisfied. A variety of flavors and foods to choose from. They occasionally have crawfish on weekend dinners and they are amazing! Very tasty and fresh. Best crawfish I've had in Myrtle Beach. I'm not a big fan of buffet restaurants but my parents wanted to go here when we visited with the grandkids. I was very impressed! The sushi was top notch. They offered a good variety. And the customer traffic kept the offerings fresh. It is true (as others have said) that the selection is really "Chinese with sushi." But the offerings are very tasty and varied. I particularly enjoyed the pepper chicken and crab rangoon. Though I did not try the mongolian style grill, it looked well provisioned and well managed. Oddly enough, this place has some of the best sushi in myrtle beach. Not THE best mind you but in the top five from my own experience. You would never expect it by looking at it from the outside. It is a buffet where the sushi and hibachi is included in the price. I usually end up getting sushi and hibachi so I couldn't tell you how good the rest of the buffet is. I have tried the dumplings, which were good though greasy. I like the hibachi because you can actually order it spicy or mild so it's a little bit more customizable than some of the other Chinese buffets with hibachi that I've been to.
