Lisa does the best french gel manicure- too bad she's almost always occupied with a client so there's usually a wait if you want to work with her. There's a variety of spa pedicures available, along with free manicure (regular only, no gel) and few minutes of massage. I'm not sure what the difference is between Honey Spa pedicure and Lemon Crystal because they used the same exfoliant/cream on me for both... They sometimes charged me for gel manicure removal which is supposed to be waived if you get gel manicure done with them again, so I would suggest double checking the price when you pay. Parking is inconvenient but I still go because this is the cleanest nail salon on Bell. read more

I felt as though it'd be a disservice if I didn't post a review for my new salon that I absolutely adore, so here I am! I started going to Oscar's regularly back in July and I must say they have not failed me once since becoming my regular salon. Every time I walk out of there I am extremely happy and satisfied with my manicure and pedicure. I do dip powder on my nails and gel polish for my toes. Their prices match those of any other salon in my opinion. My regular go-to girl is Winnie! She has the most gentle care and always pays so much attention to details within the manicure itself. The equipment is always clean and brand new. I also love the ambiance of the salon! It is so relaxing and tranquil, I can't tell you how many times I've almost fallen asleep in their pedicure chairs. If you're looking to switch salons or just want to treat yourself, I 100% recommend Oscars on bell! This is the beautiful red set I got done there yesterday. Overall, can they do they job well? Yes they do pretty damn well, but I'm very annoyed by the customer service. I got a set 2 weeks ago and paid appx $80 all in all that day. She assured me this initial investment will not continue and reassured me fill in was only $20. I came back for a fill in 2 weeks later, it's $35. Same lady, same place, doing exactly what she told me. Granted, it is written on the price board, I should have looked and checked her. I should have. I didn't think she would lie. Then, got a 2-second hand massage with my $40 manicure, great. Constantly interrupted my time because this woman taking care of me was supposed to be manning the door for temperature checks and hand sanitizer. Instead she's screaming over my head to indicate to customers how to enter safely. This is a money suck. While they do good work, it is in NO way relaxing to come here and they are very expensive! Do not recommend, there are plenty of other places that treat customers better and give them a short time to relax. Also, someone mentioned single use only? They reused nail files and buffers. This place is clean and the staff are friendly. They work fast with precision. Great selection of colors (especially in Essie). I never had to wait that long (at most 5-8 minutes) without even making an appointment. My nails usually chip pretty quickly, but I've been using the quick dry addition ($1 extra) and they've been staying on for 2+ weeks. I'm not sure if it's the quick dry application or the great skill of the staff, but I'm a happy camper! Will definitely go back for more. read more

Today I walk in for a pedicure did not have to wait too long. The gal did a lousy job. I had to ask her to correct three times. The Cutting,filing and shaping was just awful. Communication very poor. They talk to you with their masks on and you can't understand what they're saying. So she lost her patience with me and very rudily refused to finish the job. I'm going to be honest, I like my nails. They look great. It's the customer service I have an issue with here. We were treated like a number. We were told they could take us immediately because we were walk-ins. We wound up waiting 20 minutes, which would have been fine if they didn't tell us they could see us immediately. I had a baby at home and really couldn't afford that 20 minutes. I'd have forfeited getting my nails done entirely had I known. The hand "massage" I received was (literally) 10 seconds per hand. She rubbed lotion and kept it moving. Considering they are one of the more high priced salons in the area, at least give a good hand massage! I have been getting my nails done for 20 years and this is the worst hand massage I have ever gotten. I know it sounds boogie, but I look forward to them! I had to ask for the post-manicure shoulder massage that I saw everyone around me getting. You could tell how little they appreciate their clientele just by the way they treat you. It was embarrassing to have to ask, not to mention awkward when she came and gave it to me. I recently visited this salon and was pleasantly surprised by the service and color selection. First of all, the nail polish rack was probably one of the best organized racks I have ever seen! The polishes were on display by hue - all the reds were grouped together, the violets together, blues, nudes, etc. It made it very easy to select a color quickly. They carry the standard brands - O.P.I. And Essie. They also carry the O.P.I. Gel colors- of which, they also had a decent selection. I opted for a gel manicure and a spa pedi. The pedi chairs are comfy with a remote to control your massage type/speed. And another pleasant surprise, they use an organic scrub on your feet! That was scrumptious! This is my go to nail salon. It might be a 30 min travel on the bus but it's well worth it. Each time I go I get a different lady, but their work is consistent throughout the entire staff. Very clean and sterile. I always have issues with other nail salons that cut my cuticles to the point of bleeding but I've found the staff here to be gentle but very thorough. Their gel work is great, last on me for almost 3 weeks (when I'm off volleyball season) 2 weeks (when I'm on season). The regular pedicures last 3-4 weeks and still look good when I go back for another, but the Spoiled Diva pedicure is my preference. I have stopped in a few times to see quality of work but for what I normally get they don't do which is acrylic with gel top coat they only do gel polish on top which is like a 10-15 up charge plus of cost of fill in . So I find myself doing / trying other options . First of all, after I tell whoever is doing my nails that they cut me, hurting me, etc. they right away start speaking in their language and it's pretty obvious they're talking about me. So rude. i come to this nail salon all the time to get my pedicures and i had brought my boyfriend in to get a pedicure and manicure for him and a pedicure for myself . we paid $179 for the service including a 3% fee for the credit card. they left dirt all under his finger nails yet we still paid full service . as we were leaving we noticed the foot mask he got serviced was still left all over the back of his legs. i claimed this was not full service because any other nail salon would think to remove the dirt under his finger nails and atleast remove the mask off his legs .. their excuse was "you're supposed to ask to remove the dirt and sometimes the mask will leave residue on your legs".. never in my life has a nail salon left a full foot mask behind the back of the legs or left dirt under finger nails . i didn't even ask for a full refund , only the 3% fee because that was terrible full service. they refused to give it back. and the fact that i also tipped both ladies for the ridiculous, rude service. my boyfriend was also given looks by the nail ladies as soon as he sat down and it just so happens he is black, and they didn't know i spoke their language and heard everything they were saying. this salon is ridiculous! read more

I've been going to this nail salon for over two and a half years, and not once have I been disappointed. The technicians are all quiet, but friendly and they definitely warm up if you try to make conversation. They are all talented, and do an excellent job. I live over 30 minutes away, but take the drive (often in traffic) rather than go somewhere closer to where I live - and there are about 10 others on Steinway in Astoria alone! I just love these girls! I usually opt for a spa pedicure for the longer massage, which is totally worth it! They take pride in what they do, and it shows. The worst nail salon on bell boulevard ( bayside)! I went to this nail salon to get my mani and pedi gel. Once I arrived the was a lady sit next to the door that rudely told me to approach myself to the machine to check my temperature. When I sit down to get my gel pedicure the lady forgot the put the top coat after she applied the gel color, I told her that she forgot the last steps than she got angry and started to speak in her language with her co-workers saying that I was unpleasant and picky ( she didn't realize I speak her language) then I went to get my gel manicure and acrylic filling with another lady whose almost make a blister on my finger using the electric nail file( it hurts a lots) then she started to speak with another lady next to her about myself again not realizing I'm understanding what she was saying. They was very offensive make not only myself very uncomfortable but other customers as well. I want a coffin shape nails manicure and she make it each nail having a different size, texture and shape. I was very disappointed with their behavior and professionalism. I'm definitely don't recommend this nail salon for no one because I truly believe that nobody shouldn't pay to get offended.
