Not sure what has happened here in the 3 years since we moved from Stuart. Back visiting and was excited to go but their service is terrible. Finally sat ourselves after no one even acknowledging we were there waiting. A waitress put menus down on our table without a word. Took another 6-7 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Waitresses wearing yoga leggings, which i think is odd. The manager (?) seemed clueless. The food was good, which made a bad experience slightly more bearable. Our waitress never came to check on us once - how is your food, do you need more drinks, etc. which is just poor management and bad service. This used to be one of my favorite spots for lunch. When I go to Osceola Street Cafe, I feel like I'm sitting in Luke's from Gilmore Girls. It's the perfect small town restaurant with breakfast and lunch, a bunch of neighbors who know each other and some out of towners who will feel welcome. Make reservations! My girlfriend and I stumbled into this place on a saturday night just based on the smell. It was a good desicion. Since there were onky two of us, we got a hightop in the very small (read limited seating) dining room. I ordered the NY strip and she got the Osceola Street Scampi. The steak was prepared medium rare on my request. It came to me perfectly done. The seasoning on the steak was minimal which really let the taste of the meat shine. It came with an au ju sauce, steamed spinich, and fries. She got the Street Scampi. An alfredo style dish with gigantic pieces of crab and shrimp so big that thr name didnt apply. The portions were big and we were hungry so we didnt have enough room for desert. I give this place 4 stars for the first time. Well go again, but well make reservations next time. read more

This place looks like it could be nice, but don't be fooled! I've been here several times over the past few years and they never fail to disappoint. They only have servers on Sundays, so if you dine here on any other day of the week, you have to order at the counter which is always far too crowded and mismanaged. We have been to Osceola Street Café many times over the past few months and I am happy to say they never disappoint. Had a wonderful experience on my birthday at dinner with 6 other guests. All the meals were fantastic. I was especially blown away by the pork chop. The chef at Osceola takes the ordinary and creates the extraordinary. Once again, thanks for the great food and especially the great memories with friends and family. On one instance, I mentioned one menu item was cold and Cathy, the owner, comp'd the entire check. She and her staff are committed to a satisfied customer! I tried the Eggs Benny for the first time; absolutely wonderful. This will be my new goto item for the next several visits. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. If you come here and are not satisfied, please talk to Cathy; she has a wonderful smile and disposition and believe me she will make it right. Also, we love to eat outside because they are pet-friendly and great place to people watch; the heart of the action on Osceola Street! They have outdoor seating on both the front and back of the restaurant, not to mention an appealing interior. Both sides of the building are interesting and have foot traffic for those that like to people watch. Yes they do have a self-serve coffee bar offering 2-3 different coffees, Kona, House and salted caramel and decaf. The house was great (free refills). Also, they offer a variety of espresso drinks, and even Belgian hot chocolate which they will make and serve you. The brunch was excellent and reasonably priced. I was with a party of 4 and all enjoyed their meals which included homemade oatmeal, quiche, and shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits was wonderful and included onions and kalamata olives which added to the nuance of the dish. The staff is great. Emma greeted us immediately and we met Tucker and our waitress was Marley; everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We brought our 20 year old snow shoe Siamese cat, Buddy, with us and we were warmly received by staff and guests alike. We sat in a quaint room in the front of the restaurant and yet we still felt part of the action. We even met the owner, Cathy and she has a great personality and really appreciates your business. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and I must say there was nothing disappointing about any part of our meal. We chose to sit outside because inside was a little cold, and we weren't big fans of the music. We started with two appetizers the Tuna Tartar Wonton stacks, and the Mini Crab cakes. The tuna tartar was very good, the fish was fresh and the pickled red onion was a nice touch, the plate was so delicious I was even scooping up the left over wasabi into my mouth! (Dangerous I know) The crab cakes were great as well served on a bed of Arugula, and were nice and warm when they came out. As for an entree I ordered the Grilled Swordfish, with the mixed Peppercorn Butter and the Chive Mashed Potatoes. This was my first time having Swordfish so I was a little nervous on whether I would like it or not, but when I tried it, it was amaze! The fish was cooked perfectly (I usually like my fish Medium Rare) and the peppercorn butter added great flavor and wasn't over bearing. I do love potatoes in all its wonderful forms, but never had I ever tried a "Chive mash" it was just perfect. Each bite was better than the last. I was not a huge fan of the Broccolini, but that is just because of personal reasons so I gave that to my boyfriend to eat. He had the Miso Marinated Flank Steak, Chive Mash Potatoes, Roasted Ginger Carrots, Hoisin Glaze. He loved it, and I tried a bite and thought the carrots were really yummy and especially loved the Hoisin Glaze. His steak was cooked a perfect Medium Rare. All in all I'd say our experience here was great. The portions were normal sized, not too small and not huge either. The server was efficient. Fuck this place. Seriously. There's about 10 servers it's a Saturday@ 1045. Not too crowded...sat @ the counter because apparently thats where you order... Ordered a cheese and spinach omelet looked liked one if those frozen freezer " Jimmy Dean" omelettes opened it up ...no cheese and barely any spinach. They give you one slice of toast and fold it in half to make it appear as though there were 2 slices. So i asked a server to get my server (did i mention there's like 10 of them buzzing around) and most of them to busy chatting themselves up, to let her know there was no cheese in my omelette (like i ordered it) so they prepared another which pissed me off because i hate wasting food. You could tell the cheese was one of those processed sliced cheeses because it was hanging over the outside of the omelette. All perfectly square like a slice of Kraft. I felt like i overpaid for my breakfast. Unfortunately not many breakfast options in downtown Stuart but certainly won't be returning here. read more

What a surprise to find such a great little place in Stuart. It's treacherous ground around here, I think this town has every chain restaurant in creation serving up Vegas food. So I am new to town and, thanks to the yelps out there I found my go to place for a nice dinner out. Ambitious creative dinner menu. I had Shrimp Scampi in roasted garlic butter with a mozzarella risotto cake. Oh man. That was absolute food heaven. T got the salmon with five onion cream and could not have been happier. This place made us miss our San Francisco home where great food was always in abundance. But it is turning out to be fun times finding the gems. Osceola Street Cafe is one of them. Let me take this place down off the pedestal I put them on. Our office just ordered a few items for breakfast and also received a complimentary ass pounding. They charge separate for each item. So, a sausage/egg/cheese on a croissant raped us as follows (from the receipt): Scrambled egg 3.00 Add sausage 1.25 Add cheddar .85 Add croissant .75 Add tax Got charged $6.20 for a simple egg sandwich. The food was very good, and the coffee was REALLY good. (Believe me, that is saying something coming from a Northwesterner in South Florida). However, the service was lethargic at best. Unattentive, with poor attention to detail. When asked if we wanted water we said sure and our server "turned-and-burned" before we could say "...and two coffee's as well". So we waited...10 minutes later we got our water, then ordered coffee, which took 10 more minutes...then ordered food...which took (no kidding) AN HOUR, with no follow-up, apologies or even so much as a coffee refill. Then when I finally asked where our food was and if I could get more coffee, I got a little but of attitude. My coffee still beat our food to the table and it was cold/gone before the food arrived. Then we got the bill. We each had black coffee...and I got charged for a refill. Not pleased. Too bad since the food and coffee were good. Two stars...because the food was actually good. Bad service is NOT acceptable. Management needs to get involved on the front line and lay down some expectations to their servers. read more

You'll find this place on the very walkable, low scale Osceola Street. Eat inside or outside on a nice day on their deck that annexed some parking spaces. On a recent visit to Stuart, wife and I stopped in for lunch. It was a good sign that all the tables were taken and we had to wait a few minutes. Why is that good? The locals like it, but it's not been trendified yet so it wasn't overly crowded. My California Ceasar Salad with chicken was delicious. It had an abundance of grilled chicken pieces, avocados, chopped tomatoes and the dressing was light and tangy. Wife had some kind of a chicken Panini, which I sampled. It was also delicious. Our waitress was only OK. She couldn't keep up with the empty water glasses and dropped off the check in a hurry without picking up the dishes off our table. What a great little place this turned out to be. We stopped in for Sunday breakfast. I was immediately impressed with the selection of coffee's. I love choices when it comes to my morning joe. They had a bold coffee that hit the spot for me and something lighter that my wife enjoyed. The coffee is as good or better than anything at Starbucks or Barnie's. Sunday morning is counter order and waitress serve. Ordering at the counter is the worst kind of good, your faced with an array of great looking pastries and muffins. I caved and took a blueberry muffin to go. Several hours later the blueberry muffin did it's job and provided a great pre-lunch snack. Our server (meighan) was very nice, and didn't let our food sit in the window. I had sweet potato pancakes(the daily special) and a slice of quiche, both were excellent. We were wandering up back to Vero Beach from Palm Beach and found some great reviews about this place on yelp. I wanted to try out something interesting so we made our way over from 95. It's not too far from the interstate (about 6 miles) and easy to find once you find some parking on the street. We must have arrived at the right time (Saturday @ 5:30) because there was no one around and we were seated immediately (even though the hostess had asked if we had a reservation). Throughout our meal many people started arriving! Make Reservations! The place filled up by the time we left. We sat outside on the deck and it was very nice! Service was prompt and food came out quickly and was REALLY delicious. We had the Pear & Gorgonzola salad, crab cakes (to die for), Black Grouper with Bananas Foster (YUM), Shrimp and Crab Scampi in Garlic Butter (Delish!) and Artichoke Flatbread. For dessert we had FRESH Key Lime Pie, Creme Brulee, and Fresh Berry Pie... Try the house wines here! Good value! Overall, EXCELLENT. We will be coming back here very soon and bringing friends! Came here yesterday for breakfast. It wasn't bad, it's a cute little place but has outside seating as well which is also nice. The only slight downside was that you have to go up front and order at the register, but still isn't that big of a deal. I got the Nova Lox (?) bagel, which I thought was good. I didn't realize that it comes with onions and tomatoes which I don't care for and it didn't say anything on the menu what was on it, but that also could be my own fault for not seeing it or not knowing. Either way the bagel and the salmon was good. I also got a mochachino (?) which I thought was really good! It's kind of like a chocolate latte in a sense. "A-OK"...that about sums it up! Now, this review is solely based on our lunch visit, so I can't comment on their more creative/upscale dinner menu. Cute place- typical sandwich cafe kind of vibe with a decent sized bar. For some reason, anything located in downtown Stuart is automatically that much more charming. I ordered the Veggie Melt on this visit, and my fiancee ordered the J.D. Grilled Chicken Panini. My veggie melt was fine- nothing more, nothing less. It definitely tasted like something I could easily make at home. I ordered it on sourdough, and the sourdough wasn't great. Veggies were reasonably fresh, if greasy. The Chicken panini is really not a panini at all; It's a wrap. The only thing panini-like about it is that they grill the wrap a bit. Despite the misnomer, it was pretty good. The chicken was tasty, and the other ingredients in the wrap tasted fresh. We were each given the choice of fruit, chips, or cole slaw with our meal. I asked our server what kind of chips they have, and he responded, "They are kettle cooked". Sweet, I thought. We both opted for the chips...and we were each served a bag of "Miss Vickie's" potato chips. Lame! I would have opted for the fruit, as I was expecting house cooked chips. In conclusion, I wasn't overly impressed with my lunch here- it wasn't BAD, but nothing memorable about it. I wanted a place that was low-key and relaxed for birthday dinner party and we ended up going to Osceola which turned out to be a fantastic choice. One of the things that backed up my choice to choose Osceola was reading William R.'s review in 2012 (thank you). Including me, it was a party of four and by closing time, it felt as if we had the restaurant all to ourselves and I love that kind of privacy and setting. When I thought sleepy town Stuart didn't have any kindness left, there were these two beautiful ladies who worked at this restaurant that evening and they were extremely accommodating to my guests and me, great personalities AND HUMOR (many servers lack this but not here), knew the menu very well and even shared their opinions about which dish/drink were their favorites and recommendations. A server who has tried food on the menu and is willing to be honest telling us about it is a plus in my books. For a few of us, it was our first time dining at this casual cafe. Their menu is one page and you don't feel the sense that you're overwhelmed. It is simple and easy to read. One of my flaws that I do when looking at a food menu is always looking at foods that I cannot eat (self-torture? yes lol).This place gets much better. Their food was hands down phenomenal ad memorable. We started out with 3-4 appetizers, mostly seafood but also land food. Performance blew me away. The fish were fresh and perfectly seasoned, not too much and not too little. You could tell when biting into the foods that they had plenty of time being soaked into the seasoning and sauces, and the choice of the seasonings were a savory combination. We had the Ahi tuna roll, eggplant, shrimp scampi, and chicken flat bread. Everything was good. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about any of them.There wasn't a sauce or seasoning that was overwhelming to my senses. Everything was well balanced and left a smile on my guests and my faces. We were very happy to be in a happy restaurant with happy servers and amazing tasting food. The way your servers dress and their attitude should be able to tell you if the food is worth it and with Osceola, it sure was. For my entree, I had the winter salad and it was interesting. I had never tasted the dressing before and it really caught me off guard, in a good way. The flavor was not too thick or overpowering in your mouth like those generic salad dressings you get from franchise and chain restaurants. The salad portion seemed small but I think it's because of portion control, since when has someone ever said they feel full after eating a salad? No one, and you shouldn't overeat either. For my supper, I had the soy flank steak with siracha mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Heavenly! Oh wait, no, that was my wine concoction. The meal was just as heavenly though, every bite, every taste. I was half drooling in my mouth and half trying to keep the food to stay in my mouth.The steak was cooked rare and with the sauce marinated in the meat, it reminded me of almost a chewy beef jerky only it was softer, fresh, and not pre-packaged wrapped and terribly salty. I am Asian and I had never thought of putting Siracha sauce and mashed potatoes together. I did but I reluctantly shared this piece of awesome information that I discovered with my table of guests. They, too, were fascinated by this side dish. After our meals, our sweet server brought out a sample of 3 desserts and it was to make up for my birthday cake because when she had asked me if I wanted desserts, I had politely declined. Not a fan of Key Lime pie and chocolate on top of chocolate but my guests loved it and they made sure not to leave any crumbs behind. I was pretty content with the creme brulee which had my birthday candle in it. These desserts are supposed to be super sweet and sugar, and evil (and they are) but like our appetizers and meals, they consistency were very well balanced and they tasted like what they were supposed to be. After eating all of these foods, I didn't feel bloated or sick. I mean, they don't carry organic foods or gluten free but their chef here knows how to balance just the right amount of seasoning and oil with the foods here and that is a skill to master. I didn't get the chance to meet the chef but I want him/her to know that I am a fan of their food. As I mentioned earlier about having the restaurant all to myself and my guests, we lost track of time and didn't realize that the restaurant had already closed but the ladies were very sweet and didn't bother telling us or kicking us out. They let us take our time and enjoy finishing our meals. They also offered to change the music playlist to what we preferred, and guess what we chose: Metallica, lol. After a wonderful dinner experience, I am very tempted to try their breakfast/brunch menu now. read more

I had their omelet for breakfast and it was delicious. Best omelet I've ever had and I told them so. I used to occasionally eat supper at Osceola Cafe and it was always outstanding. I understand that it is under new ownership and their hours have changed so they now only serve breakfast and lunch. Still delicious, just a different environment. It used to be high end dining but now it seems more of a diner atmosphere. This may become my new go to breakfast place. The pastries looked amazing too. read more

We stumbled in last night as it had just reopened for dinner service. We were very happy to have great service from our waiter Shane, who's been there for a long time and expertly knew the description of everything on the menu as well as their wine list. We enjoyed salad, salmon and scallops, all well prepared. The atmosphere is very pleasant, old jazz in the background playing. Free coffee while you wait - you heard me right! And brewed special from beans ground on premises. Very good - I actually don't usually drink coffee anymore but I did love the coconut blend. My husband had the egg white omelette with spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes and loved it. I had pancakes with fruit (wish the fruit was more pancake friendly - I paid an extra $2 for a few grapes and 3 pieces of honeydew). I also got a cafe au lait which was very good but was heavy on the frothed milk without a real taste of steamed milk (like a true cafe au lait).
