Disappointed... We were there today and they were closing early because of the 4th of July holiday (no problem there). At exactly 2pm, a man (whom I later remembered was the owner's husband) came to our table and very sternly told us that they're closed now. No thank you for coming, no happy 4th, no happy rest of your day... nothing. Just a very stern "just want to let you know we're closing now." He went around telling the same thing to everyone else in the same manner. He proceeded to stand by the door like a nightclub bouncer to make sure nobody else came in and to make the point that he wanted everyone out NOW with the most stern look on his face. I get it ... you want people out of there when you close, but it costs you nothing to smile and be kind. A smile and kind demeanor go a long way. I really like the Oslo fog espresso that I ordered. It's a cute little coffee shop in LR. The server who helped me was very nice. I am not sure how many employees were supposed to be working on each shift but there were a lot of teenagers standing and chit-chatting at the end of the register. Oslo coffee is great coffee and much needed in Ladera, but it takes way, way too long to get coffee. I would recommend getting another espresso machine because it shouldn't take 20+min from enter to exit. I'd visit a lot more in the mornings on weekdays if I knew I could get my order in a reasonable amount of time. read more

I was so excited to come to this new coffee place! I will say they have decent coffee. The lattes and food prices are very expensive! For instance, I was shocked when our plates arrived because the avocado toast, which was $13!, was a tiny piece of toast with avocado. Also, the coffee drinks are $7 each and they don't even have sizes. We finished our coffee so fast since it looked like the $7 coffee was like a small size. Great music. Nice selection of pastries. Creative menu. But what would make this place five stars is if the staff were happy. This says a lot about the management, because joy comes from the top. Oslo Coffee is such a welcome and needed addition to this area! I am a local and was so pumped when it opened. I came in today for the 3rd or 4th time and had to leave a review! The stars hollow seasonal drink was incredible - as a Gilmore girls fan the drink name is so on point too! I love that they use olive oil and avocado oil for cooking. Plus it's so cute inside! I work in the area and have been waiting for a coffee shop other than the popular chain that's at every corner. I am very happy that this place opened and wish them all the success! It is a super cute shop and the staff was really friendly. That said, the lavender latte I got today was average at best. The espresso was way under extracted. I know making espresso is hard (because I make it myself at home), so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they will improve over time after they have had more practice pulling shots. I really want to love this place and I want them to do well. I'll give them a little bit of time and I'm sure they will only get better from here. If nothing else, I'm just happy to have another option for coffee in the area. read more

Went to Oslo on father's day with my daughter and purchased 2 drinks and 1 pastry. It was the last pastry they had, and they ended up giving it away to the people behind us on accident. I politely confronted them about the mistake and was largely ignored. They just replied, "Sorry, we sold the last pastry." I normally wouldn't even care to write a review, but not a single gesture was made to correct the mistake. I had to ask for a refund, and they dismissively asked for the name on the ticket and said it would take 24 hours to process. 48 hours later, and I still have not received the refund. I called again, and they said the same thing - asked for my name and said it should take about 24 hours to receive the refund. I honestly couldn't care less for a $6 pastry refund. Just disappointed in the lack of action taken to right a wrong. read more

My husband and I absolutely love this place! We come at least once a week! It is such a warm happy environment and the drinks are amazing. The food is amazing too. I get the overnight oats or the lefse and it never fails. We also have a toddler and it is so kid friendly. As soon as we pull up he yells "cinnamon roll!" and runs in to greet the baristas. This recent visit in the morning I ordered an almond croissant which was very dry--the bread and almond paste. I took it to the server and expressed my sentiment before finishing it. i've literally never reviewed a place before but i felt like i had to for this place. The food and selection is excellent! I've had their matcha and coffee before and never not enjoyed it. They also do not charge for non-dairy milk, so the drinks are reasonably priced (iced vanilla latte with alternative milk for $5!)
