Worst waiter ever in my own experience. He had an attitude from the start. We were a big party (12 people) and wanted to split the bill between the individual families (3 ways). The server immediately told us that he can only do 1 bill and that he did not work for free. I wish I knew his name. He wanted to charge us for tap water!!! Disappointing service for what could have been a magical evening. Arrived 20 minutes early to enjoy a cocktail at this beautifully located restaurant before our reservation. Hostess, waiter and ultimately owner each approached us to move to table early, to be seated well before our reservation. We preferred the relaxed view upon arrival, but clearly the staff had other ideas. Felt rushed from the start, Server was knowledgeable with wine selection, and helped professionally steer to two great and appropriate selections. Appeared frustrated with questions on preparation of menu items, with response of "that's how chef makes it; it's very good, no changes." From guest perspective, there was interest in what the meal consisted of... not necessarily can you change anything. As first time guests, all 6 in party had at least one question, which did not appear appreciated, and the "clipped" explanations further rushed the experience. Then the debacle. Restaurant uses "runners" to deliver food rather than using the original server. I personally hate the "who had the salmon, who had the steak" questions." If business model uses runners rather than server, strongly suggest noting item ordered with seat location for the "runners" use. In our case, only received 5 of 6 entrees... and no follow up from server to see if everything "delivered" correctly! Literally took 20 minutes to obtain missing entree. No apologies until departure; no small salad or alternative to fill the 20 minute lapse, nothing but blame and explanation of why the order was missed. (We have a great computer, this is an experienced waiter, I took the correct order, must have been the kitchen... lots of explanation but never a simple "I am sorry."). Clearly awkward for all diners in the group and ruined a potentially fabulous experience. In summary, the food was actually good, if complex. We might return in the off season when the restaurant can handle the business (Note however our reservation was 530 pm on a Saturday.). On reflection, the server's lack of accountability and responsibility mimicked the owner, who clearly was setting the tone of indifference. They were worried and concerned about "getting hit" with a crowd from the beginning, and their actions reflected their concerns of patrons as a "capacity problem" rather than as guests. read more

I have worked at and enjoyed dining at many fine restaurants during my 60+ years, but this experience is not something I have ever seen before. Never have I been told by an employee (she said she was the person in charge) that "there is a McDonalds on your way home. You need to leave." I didn't receive what I ordered and they insisted I was in error. GI issues would not allow me to order what they say I ordered. Why would they keep arguing with me? This is a wonderful restaurant. I cannot understand the negative reviews. The food is great--wide selection-- and creatively prepared. The wine list is excellent and well priced. The physical plant is charming and you'll have great sunset views if you time it right. The owners are charming and can't do enough to make sure you have a great experience. We eat in many of the fine dining establishments in the area and this is our favorite. Already looking forward to our next visit. read more

Hidden gem! We went to Osteria last night and had an outstanding dining experience. Everything from the service to the entrees was first class. The servers were friendly , engaging and attentive. The food was prepared perfectly. I had the chicken parm which was excellent. The chicken was done to perfection, the sauce was excellent and the homemade pasta was outstanding. Our wives had the Chilean sea bass special which they loved. The sea bass was also cooked perfectly and was served over risotto, also excellent. My friend had the the bolognese and it too was a great entree. So glad I did not check the reviews before we went. Ours was just an outstanding dining experience. Made a reservation at 7:40 for 8:00. Arrived at 7:55. Was told at the door they weren't seating walk in customers. I told them I had a reservation and was given a rude look and the girl walked off. I went inside to check in and saw no hostess and nobody was there to step in and seat us. After a few minutes of waiting, my family and I left as we felt unwanted. While staying in Marco Island wanted to try this place because it advertises "fresh pasta made daily " So we asked another couple from the condo to join us. Reservations for 4. Outdoor seating a plus. We place our orders. My husband said we would like two separate checks.Friends ordered lasagna and linguine with clams. We ordered penne puttanesca and the pappardelle bolognese. Waitress comes back to the table to tell us they do not have lasagna for lunch only for dinner? Why is on the menu? So my friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs. So the waitress brings flatbread with oil and parmigiana cheese and more water. Order comes and the waitress has brought my friend who ordered the spaghetti and meatballs pasta in oil. She was very polite and said not what I ordered I'll take it. Another waitress that was helping ours said it was her first day and brought my friend a side of meatballs. Half way through my lunch put my fork in for another bite and there is a staple in twine. So my husband goes to get the other waitress. She apologized and took the food away, came back to tell me she would take it off the bill. ( you think?) Husband asked to take the rest of his dish home. She comes back with two containers, my husband and mine that had the staple in it. She bring the check and it's one check. So we said we would like two checks. With a attitude she grabbed the bill up and stormed off. This was not a good experience, so many other places to eat. A very mixed experience. Ambiance is wonderful, setting clean, fresh and sophisticated with a Florida flair. Waitress was very good but not attentive as she was too busy, seemed overloaded (We had to get up to find her twice for our needs). Charcuterie plate was excellent - great assortment and flavor with the Cabernet. Calamari was generous and hot. Muscles flavorful and pleantiful. Caeser was small and meh. Zipper di Pescatarian was generous with lots of fresh fish but little flavor - definitely not the best of Naples. Lamb shank large, picture perfect but a little dry and needed more sauce. Salmon was "wonderful" per our guest. Coffee superb, limoncello cake quite good. Singing entertainment a nice touch. All in all an enjoyable evening. The entrees were highly mediocre but all other courses supurb. I will go back but stick with plain pizza or pasta as my main course. I'm not sure where the anger came from but it keep escalating he said you should have told me in the beginning you wanted to I said you should have asked either way it got to the point where he was threatening. Extremely disappointing - Terrible service Avoid Osteria Capri due to the terrible and disappointing service. We went for dinner as four adults. The waitress was awful and the service was so terrible that we got up and left after the experience without even having anything to eat. We were first told they did not have enough menus and that we would have to wait for someone else to finish with a menu for us to see. We then ordered a bottle of prosecco. The waitress, who never told us her name but was relatively short and wore glasses, brought us prosecco glasses. One had lipstick stains on it from a previous patron. We notified the waitress of this and if we could please had fresh and clean glasses. She mumbled something under her breath and left. She then returned and told us that they didn't have the bottle of prosecco that we had ordered, but they had by the glass. We waited for about 20 minutes after this and she went to other tables, except for ours. She never brought us menus nor anything to drink. Disappointed with the lack of service and her incredible rudeness, we got up and left. We proceeded to have dinner at Ocean Prime which is fantastic and we highly recommend - the food is always wonderful and the service is exceptional. It is a shame we never even got to try the food at Osteria Capri, but I would greatly advise not to dine there. read more

What a unfortunate experience...all of the bad reviews were correct. Terribly rude owner, waiter kept coming back to try and take our order, food and drinks overpriced. Seafood pasta order for $34 had 2 shrimp and one scallop. My brother wanted fettuccine pasta instead of spaghetti and they refused. Drinks were $20, the bread was bought from Publix and was the worst that we've had at an Italian restaurant. The prices are what is expected at a high end establishment which this was definitely not. I wanted to have a special reunion with my family and it turned out to be an experience that we will talk about for all of the wrong reasons. read more

Impressive all around especially since I believe this was their first Saturday after they opened!! The service was friendly and professional, the view is gorgeous overlooking the water and the food was exceptional. We already made a reservation for next Saturday. Make your reservations soon. This restaurant is going to be booked. The eggplant caponata with homemade flatbread was so good we ordered more, tho we had plenty of food coming. My husband had Vongole Cozze Arrabbiata for an app. I normally don't prefer tomato sauces with seafood but I may order next time myself because the flavors were exceptional. I had the Rughetta salad which was tasty and lighter perfect for my appetite. For the entrees delicious homemade Fettuccine mare e monti and I had Grigliata Di pesce with beautifully cooked seafood including tender octopus, perfectly cooked calamari, and other seafood. Good wine list including wines by the glass. I am very intolerant of conventional wheat/gluten however they make most items from scratch from Italian flour. We had asked for a window table by the water if available, we know that can be a challenge sometimes. We arrived 20 minutes early 6:40 and a window table was available. The staffer looks at the table, looks at us, looks at the computer then says that is reserved. Ok, I know what's going happen. At about 7:15 2 guys come in and get the window table. My wife had the pasta with clams, shrimp and calimari, it was solid. She also had the Caesar salad which was very good! I had a spinach salad that just did not work, hardly any dressing, dry, the mushrooms and bacon tasted like they just came out of a pre cooked box, flabby and tasteless. I ordered veal saltimbocca which I admit is a difficult dish to get just right, you rarely even see it on Naples menus. It was over cooked, the prosciutto was beyond recognition and a third of the plate had arugula and some grape tomatoes, it just did not work, and my apologies for this, but this type of feedback is good and actionable. Beautiful location. The service was excellent! Prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. The wines were fantastic, a Super Tuscan and a Sangiovese, well done. read more

We live on the island and dine out several time's per week, mostly at fine restaurant's.... mostly Italian as our family is from Sicily. READ THE REVIEWS AND BELIEVE THEM!!! We went with another couple to have a relaxing evening. The server was very attentive and we had absolutely no problem with him. We had a drink and an appetizer and the owner came over and asked if he could take our order. We told him we were not ready and we are happy to wait for our server. Keep in mind that we were one of three tables in the entire restaurant. The owner insisted we give him our order right then because the kitchen needs to know NOW. Again, we are one of three tables, right at 5:00 pm when they first opened for the evening. My wife and I wanted to split the pappardelle dish, which our server checked with the chef and approved. The owner told us we could not do that. They never do that and he won't do it. Our friend was ordering a veal dish and asked if he could substitute vegetables for pasta. Again, the owner said no. What you order is what is on the menu. No substitutions. It goes on. Our relaxing evening quickly turned to pressure. We decided to leave without having dinner, paid the bill, with the owner watching and letting us go without even asking what the problem was. I have been wanting to try this place since they opened. The advertisement with that charcuterie plate was so appetizing. So we went last night and we were surprised to find the place disappointing. We ordered the charcuterie platter to start and got a small cutting board with a items dumped on in one big heap. A big scoop of stewed eggplant and some cannellini bean mix on top of 2 pieces of grilles zucchini, found 1 slice of sausage mixed in the eggplant and 2 slices of mortadella thrown on top. A sloppy mess of a dish. The waiter was so busy he never brought me a dish to eat off so we shared the one plate that was on the table when we sat down. Next came the Zuppe di Pesce. The flavor was wonderful. The shrimp a little rubbery but the muscles and clams were excellent. It can with a 1x1 inch piece of salmon and would have liked a little more the fish. Again the waiter was too busy so I never got a bowl or plate to place the empty shells. My wife had the Tagliatelle Lamb Ragu which was delicious. We ordered Tiramisu for dessert. That took 40 minutes to arrive while our waiter cleared 2 tables, started 3 outdoor heaters and ran around like a chicken with his head cut off. We are still waiting to have our water glasses refilled even after asking several times. This could be a top restaurant but they are not paying attention to customer services and food presentation. read more

TLDR: Please do not eat here. 3 of our 4 meals came out incorrectly and although the dishes were corrected, we were harassed by our waiter and questioned by the chef. We also fear we caught COVID from the staff as neither of our waiters wore masks above their nose and the chef did not wear a mask at all when he visited our table. Full review: I was really excited to eat here as we were vacationing with friends who live nearby. My fiancee has a dairy allergy and my friend has a gluten allergy. We explained these to our waiter before we ordered and during our order. Despite this, both of their dishes came without regard for the allergy. My friend ordered clams in a spicy sauce with no gluten and it came with two pieces of bread on the side of the plate touching the food. We sent it back to be remade as his allergy is serious. My fiancee's dish came with cheese on it, despite her dairy allergy we clearly explained and reiterated several times. We sent that back to be remade as well. I ordered the risotto pescatora because the menu said it came in a lemon sauce over fettuccine. When it came it did not have fettuccine nor lemon sauce. They told me the menu was wrong and risotto is never served with pasta. They did correct this meal, however. It was delicious. The biggest problem we had - a different waiter than the one we started with came over to us to explain the errors. He told us that my friend's dish is not served with bread. We respectfully disagreed and said there were pieces of bread on the dish, we all saw it. He became very upset. He also brought me the menu to show me where my dish's description states it comes with pasta and lemon sauce, to tell me that it does not in fact come with these and the menu is wrong. No one told us this until my food was put in front of me, however, which seems like a huge oversight. Later, this same new waiter came over again and asked if we wanted another round of drinks on them because they messed up three of our four meals. We politely declined but asked for something to be comped. A round of drinks did not seem like sufficient credit, nor did we want more drinks. At this point we just wanted to leave the restaurant. The waiter did not understand this and started yelling at us that COVID has made this the worst time for a restaurant. We absolutely understand and are sympathetic to this, however, this is not an excuse for potentially contaminating food, leaving errors on the menu that are not explained, and not following any sort of COVID protocol as people were packed inside, table to table, and there is a traveling singer who wears no mask. After the COVID speech our waiter stormed off while yelling that we would pay for our meal or he would call the police. We were confused because we never said we wouldn't pay, just asked that they correct their mistakes by taking an entree or appetizer off our check perhaps. During this same tirade the waiter also literally said "people with allergies shouldn't eat here" to help justify their mistakes and subsequent botched response. To make matters worse - both of our waiters had masks that fell below their nose. The chef came out to talk to us about our meals (he apologized, but also told us no bread comes with the dish that had bread on it when it arrived) and was not wearing a mask at all! We were horrified. At this point, we could not leave soon enough. I had to ask for my corrected meal, which did not arrive until after everyone else had finished eating, to be packed to go because we were frightened the waiter would start yelling at us again or we would catch COVID from the staff or chef. 2/3/2024 - Our party of four ordered a $250 bottle of wine when we were seated. One of our party recommended the wagyu prime rib based on a previous visit, describing the tenderness and flavor of the dish. Three of our party ordered the wagyu prime rib entrees with potatoes and steamed spinach, medium rare, at $80 a pop. The meal came and the beef was rare/med-rare and tough. Two of our party ate half their wagyu, third person's Wagyu contained so much gristle, it was inedible. We all sampled his Wagyu and agreed it was gristly and even tougher than our Wagyu. He asked our waiter for a replacement med-rare Wagyu entree, but when it arrived, it was room temperature and rare, and had no potatoes or spinach on the plate, just arugula (??). The dish was sent back for a bit more grilling, but the plate was returned with the Wagyu having been MICROWAVED, and three potatoes added next to the arugula; no spinach in sight. The OWNER of the restaurant accompanied the plate and when the microwaved Wagyu was pointed out to him, he replied rudely, "I tried the meat and it's fine", then turned and left. We wondered if he'd actually taken a slice of the Wagyu OFF THE PLATE to sample it? We gave up on the entree at this point and asked to be comped for the one entree. The waiter came back and told us the owner would not comp us the entree. At this point, we'd spent $603 on three meals, three cocktails and a bottle of wine. We were obviously not being cheap; the Wagyu was truly inedible. The quality of Wagyu was unconscionably poor, the response of the chef was deplorable, and the attitude of the owner was belligerent and petty. Will never return. read more

Asked about the table outside that was just on the other side of the glass he said it was reserved for someone else after he said they only had tables for 4 people outside.
