Got a chance to stop by with family tonight for a quick dinner and it was fantastic! We kept it light and split a few appetizers, everything from baby octopus to eggplant was phenomenal. What really stood out was the the service from the moment we walked in and for the rest of the evening everyone was fantastic. Based on our experience here at Osteria, the service, friendliness of the staff and some of the unique tableside presentations they offer would easily earn 5 stars. However, aside from the tiramisu that's made tableside, which we really enjoyed, the rest of the food we had here would get 3.5 stars at most. Had the food been on-par with the presentations and the service, this place would be outstanding. We arrived here later on a weekday evening and were seated right away. Aside from us and maybe 2 other tables, the place was mostly empty, with a few other small groups of patrons arriving after we did. We were given waters and the waiter brought a large board (which was bout 4 feet tall) that listed the specials over to our table and he went through each one, then left the board propped against a nearby table so we could continue to glance at it while reading the regular menu. We ordered a bottle of wine, which they were out of, and the server suggested a different, similar offering. We also ordered the Antipasto Dell'Osterio as an appetizer to share. It featured prosciutto which was sliced at our table using a manual slicer, strachiella cheese, which is the almost liquidy cheese found inside a ball of burrata, and coccoli fritti, which our server explained were pieces of fried pizza dough. This appetizer was large, even for 2 people. They sliced plenty of prosciutto for us, and to be honest, it was a bit overwhelming to finish, especially considering the richness of the strachiella. Had the portion size been smaller and more manageable for 2, I'd have enjoyed it more (I hate to waste food so we did our best to finish it). Also, I actually preferred eating this appetizer with the bread that was served in a basket to our table, rather than the coccoli fritti that was included with it. For our main courses, my husband had the branzino de sale which was a whole fish, entirely coated in a thick layer of rock salt. It was brought to our table whole, and the chef cracked and pulled away the layer of salt, opened the fish and removed the meat, placed it on a serving plate and took away the salt, skin and bones. I had the Tagliata di Manzo which was a sliced NY strip steak, served with roasted potatoes. When brought to the table, my steak was served under a dome filled with wood smoke, and the dome was slowly lifted away and swirled to release the smoke. While the tableside presentations of both meals were done very well, his fish really didn't have a lot of flavor and while my steak was cooked very well, the roasted potatoes were relatively dry and could've been served with some type of sauce. Though we were both relatively full, we really came here as we'd heard about the tiramisu that's created tableside, and we decided to order and share one. I'm glad we did. Again we were relatively full when the server brought the dish of lady fingers and poured coffee over them, added the whipped mixture and cocoa powder. Within about 3 minutes I believe every last drop of that incredible dessert was gone and I was scraping the dish to ensure we'd enjoyed every last bite of it. Really good! Pricing was fair for everything we had, and was in line with many better-quality Miami area restaurants. We enjoyed the presentations - the prosciutto sliced at our table, the fish layered in salt that was prepared before us and the steak and potatoes served under a smoke-filled dome, but aside from the tiramisu, which was incredible, each item we ordered had room for improvement. Had the foods been as good as the service and presentations, I'd easily give this place 5 stars. read more

Ambiance and service are stellar but the food was disappointing. The Cacio e Pepe was watery and lacked a cheese flavor and a pepper flavor as well. The shaved truffles on top were delicious but I can't recommend a dish solely on a garnish. We where a table of 5 and not one person was called to remark on anything being tasty till desert. I have been here for my first time, suggested from Italian friends. It's a great place , very curated, manager and waiters are very friendly and professional. The cuisine is authentic Italian, pasta is served Al dente as suppose to be. I had vitello tonnato that was so far so good, my husband had gnocchi served in a very nice copper pan . Easily my favorite Italian restaurant in Miami! Consistent great service, and food. Discovered my favorite wine here, favorite lasagna, favorite appetizer! The whipped ricotta with prosciutto and breadsticks makes me breathe heavily just thinking about it. The lasagna is made with a bechamel sauce so it's very rich and creamy! They have this moscato (don't judge me) that is just pure sweet satin in your mouth. The tiramisu is made at your table with fresh whipped cream and the whole dish is just perfect balance of sweetness without being so overly sweet that you just remembered about that cavity.
