My husband and I had dinner at Osteria Pollani Restaurant located at 201 Main St., Safety Harbor. This was our first time dining at Osteria Pollani and If I could give them more stars on yelp I would! From the exterior of the building it looks like a typical outdoor/indoor sports bar. I noticed the open bar from the outside with people sitting at the bar drinking, a few customers wearing the back wards baseball caps, tank tops, shorts and flip flops. The first impression from the outside somewhat confused me as to what was inside. Well, don't let that fool you because once inside you will see a beautiful Italian style bistro with most customers in dressy casual apparel enjoying great food with wine or a cocktail. Our food server was friendly and attentive with an adorable accent. The only pet peeve I have is for food hygiene purposes that her long dark hair should have been pulled back in a pony tail. We received bread and a garlic olive oil dip which was authentically delicious. My husband ordered the Pollo Burrata and I ordered the Grouper and both of our meals were so flavorful and the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Their menu prices are reasonable and their food seriously tasted like it's made from scratch and homemade. The restaurant is super clean, the service was personable and the food tasted like authentic Italian cuisine. We enjoyed the dining experience at Osteria Pollani and we are looking forward to making reservations for another delicious dinner! Agree with all the other reviews. 5 stars on the food, all our dinners were fantastic, the meals arrived piping hot and were great, my only small concern was the bread for the bruschetta was either over toasted or stale, at $15 it was disappointing because the flavor of the topping was fantastic. So subtract 2 stars just for ambience. The theme feels like a bipolar disorder. Half elevated Italian dining and half sports bar. Crisp white shirts, aprons and bow tied servers combined with small red paper napkins rolled around silverware? Table top mood nights with no table cloths. This place is 4-5 stars if they'd get rid of the wall of big screen tvs left behind by Tiki tavern and if they signed up with a linen service. read more

I live in Tampa, which has many great Italian restaurants. But, Osteria Pollani in Safety Harbor, has as great, or better food than any of those restaurants in Tampa, & at much lower prices. From appetizers like Arancini to Beef Carpacio, which were incredibly seasoned & so delicious, to seafood, pasta, & meat entrees cooked to perfection, with real home cooked pasta sauce, this restaurant is an Italian gem in downtown Safety Harbor. The cocktails are awesome, the gelato & canoli desserts to die for, & the Servers knowledgeable & super friendly. Cool layout for eating inside or outside. Even the bathrooms are clean. This place is fantastic! We we had a group of six people and everything was amazing from the pasta to the fish. The entertainment was amazing. Her name was Leslie Anderson. The staff was amazing. We had dinner there last night with two other couples. Nothing was at the standard we expected in an Italian restaurant. I ordered the lasagne which I can confidently say it was the worse I've ever had. The two otheres ordered the bradzini fish was blahhh.. my husband had linguine with the mushrooms dish and was tasteless. The bill included a 20% gratuity with us automatically added for parties over 5 people. Our $330 bill was not worth it! Service was acceptable but not great. read more

We went to OP for my son's 17th birthday dinner. The four of us ordered different entrees and they were all great. First things first, our server, Christina, was very good. She was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about the menu. But, "Why 3 stars?", you ask. The ambiance. Not too long ago, OP was a different establishment which was a sports bar. So while the menu, the bow-tied servers, and the food quality/prices say you are in a nice Italian restaurant, the 3 large screen TVs, paper napkins and noise level of the patrons screams otherwise. The tables are so close together that making your way to the restroom can be tricky and in addition I was hit by the belongings of the person sitting behind me as they were getting up to leave. The noise level is loud to the point that having a conversation at the table was difficult and you had to raise your voice to place your order. Tablecloths or at least cloth napkins would have made a difference as paper gives a low budget feel-even if it's wrapped around the silverware. The food, the service, both very good and would be 4 star, but the ambiance. So it seems that OP has a decision to make. Is it going to be a sports bar with good Italian food? Or is it going to be an intimate Italian restaurant with great Italian entrees? Hard to say but right now it gives the mixed message of both. read more

Very disappointed. Bread served with meal was two small rolls, nearly raw on the inside. The restaurant was empty at six thirty which indicates not well patronized. The lasagna was terrible, obviously prepared sometime previously, could only stomach half of it. The service was pleasant and accommodating. The menu and food quality is of mediocre quality, truly not a unique Italian restaurant. Cannot believe the previous ratings, cannot be legitimate. This is certainly not four star restaurant. Everything about this place was wonderful! I went with a friend on 3rd Fridays. Our server was attentive and helpful. Since the portions were generous and we didn't feel like walking around with leftovers she offered to store them at in the kitchen so we could enjoy our night without having to carry them around. I had the Bolognese and my friend had the Chicken Piccata and both were great. I am an Italian food snob and owned my own restaurant, and it was some of the best Italian food I've had in Florida. We stopped by this restaurant for dinner last night and were in for a treat. Having been in Italy this past summer it brought back so many good memories. The service was top notch and some wine selections from Sicily was great. We had lasagna and the house salad and both were delicious. The Ambiance was fine, but it was downhill from there. The food was very ordinary. We had Chicken Wings and a Meaball Panina. The food tasted pretty generic. The Chicken Wings tasted like they came from a frozen package. Also, the Service was bad. The Servers said they had no hot sauce, when we asked, but they actually did. Just opened in Safety Harbor a week ago. Full bar and indoor and outdoor seating on the sidewalk on Main St in SH. The food was excellent. I had the lobster ravioli with shrimp on top. They were outstanding. My partner had sea bass and he loved it and our son had mussels, shrimp, clams on linguini with red sauce which he also loved. No from for dessert. Highly recommend. Loved this Family owned Italian restaurant when it was in a strip mall on Walsingham near IRB, love it even more now that it's located in beautiful Safety Harbor. The food is amazing and authentic served by family members who love their regional cooking and really know how to present it beautifully! Most of the pastas are homemade and the fish is always cooked perfectly, seasoned with fresh herbs and spices that really accentuate the natural flavors of the fresh ingredients! They offer both indoor and alfresco dining and as the weather goes you can make your choice. So if you are a fan of Italian cuisine, I highly recommend making the trip to Safety Harbor. Interesting restaurant. The ambiance is hectic-there was live music right by the hostess stand which made it very hard to hear what was going on when first coming in & the decor is a bit chaotic as the restaurant doesn't really seem to settle on a set theme. The drinks are okay-the house wine is basic and the Hugo Spritz cocktail I ordered was missing 2 out of the 5 ingredients mentioned on the drink menu. The bread service was incredibly disappointing for an Italian restaurant. For a culture known for its incredible bread, to be served premade dinner rolls (as pictured) was upsetting especially considering the prices of the food in general. The food is good-the salmon dish had very good flavor and portion size & the other pasta dishes we ordered were okay (the chicken Marsala included a sauce that was somehow sweet?). For the price of the meal, I don't think I would go back as there is quite a bit this restaurant needs to figure out. There are many other restaurants on Main Street with better prices, tastes, and ambiance. read more

The bread was the worst I ever had in a Italian restaurant . And the food was just ok. The hidden charges when you make a reservation of six more, they automatically charge a person who makes the reservation $50 under credit card now if you're not the person paying for the bill that $50 is on there and is taken off at the end of the night which doesn't make any sense at all and also we're at a birthday party there for 15-year-old we brought our own cake. They charged us $18 for six slices of that cake would be served after spending over $200 with no alcoholic drinks. It will take me a lot to get me to go back there again. read more
