This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We had a reservation for three people at 7pm on a Tuesday night. We got there at 7:05, and then we're told there was a 30 min wait. No worries, our family is in the hospitality industry and we know how restaurants can get backed up. The hostess was apologetic and took our phone number, saying said she'd call us when our table was ready. We got a drink at a nearby bar and waited until 7:45. No call from the restaurant. We finally called them at 8pm asking about our table and we're told the people who were at our table still hadn't left (but they had paid the bill when we got there an hour before). She said she'd talk to the manager and try to squeeze us in another table - wtf??? We had a reservation for a reason. We walk back to the restaurant at 8:15pm to ask about our table again. Finally get seated. Our waiter was incredibly rude, saying he already had a full roster of tables and he took us on in addition. No worries, we were starving at this point so we ordered everything as soon as he came to our table. No apologies from the manager or anything like that this whole time. My wife ordered the linguine and clams (for $29) and 6 out of her 10 clams were empty shells - no clams to be found. I ate half my pizza, then asked for a box. The waiter took my pizza and didn't come back for 20 mins. I had to ask for my pizza back when he gave us our check and he rudely said "I'm sure it's back there somewhere". We've lived in NYC, LA, and Miami and have never had such a bad restaurant experience - the hospitality here is extremely unprofessional. read more

Exelent food and great atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated rustic style. I really liked the ceiling. They have inside and outside sitting. They have this warm bread bread that is good. They bring you an eggplant type of spread that is good too. It is sweet and tasty. I ordered a caesar salad. It was good it had crispy pancetta and pieces of anchovies. It was good. It was more like a lettuce wedge caesar salad. I also had a pizza. It was mozzarella pizza. It was ok. It had fresh basil. I didn't think it had a lot of flavor. The staff was super friendly. The place had great atmosphere and the staff was friendly and entertaining. They do add the tip to the bill. read more

Let's just say I love going to Osteria Tulia. I live all the way in Sarasota but yet I make the drive all the way to Naples just for the day in order to go to this restaurant. Every time I go, the food is delicious and so are the drinks. The one thing that I wish was that they would give you the bread and the caponata for free instead of charging you after one basket. Let's face it, the restaurant is not cheap. It's expensive and I think the bread should be complementary just like it is at many other restaurants. The setting was great as always. The pizza was great but as pizza goes it's hard to go below 4 star. I ordered a 60 dollar Wagu Steak and it was tough like a sirloin. Still was able to cut it with butter knife but it was chewy and lacked taste. If you're going to serve wagu stay away from American Wagu because it's short of change on a high priced meal. read more

Came here with some friends in late February. The location on 5th avenue is great and the vibe is always hopping. The drinks were innovative and good all around. Food was very good. Wife had short ribs, friends had short rib tortellini and a pizza, and I had branzino. All very good. The only sour note was our server's attitude. She wasn't terrible, but our questions, e.g. which drink is fruity, which fish is best, etc. seemed to annoy her. Not friendly and not attentive. They combine flavors in a very interesting & unique way. The service is top notch. Our server, Samantha, was very knowledgeable about the dishes and helped me navigate the menu while carefully considering my food allergies. There are plenty of options for gluten-free and dairy-free guests and they are willing to adjust their dishes for us. Osteria Tulia came as a recommendation by the chef and server at USS Nemo. Because our anniversary is quickly approaching, we decided to splurge on a "real" Italian dinner because that's our tradition. We made a 5:00 reservation and drove up from Marco Island. Upon arrival, we were asked if we wanted a table inside or outside. My response was that if we could choose our table inside, we'd sit inside. The table I chose was a four-seater but, the hostess said they could only offer us a "two-top". For a moment, I felt like they started out on the wrong foot because we were alone in the restaurant except for staff. When we were seated, our server made introductions and filled our drink orders. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and each particular special. Sadly, I don't recall her name. She quickly made up for the poor taste left by the hostess. In all, we ordered two appetizers, a salad, two entrees, and the tiramisu. First up was the Salumi Misti. It was made up of generous amounts of prosciutto, bresaola, soppressatta, mortadella, and coppa. We cleaned the plate of everything except the soppressatta which was tasty but just a bit on the fatty side. 5 Next came the endive & apple salad. It was my first time having fresh endive and won't be the last. The toasted hazelnuts and vinaigrette were perfect together. 5 Third was the prawn cocktail "puttanesca". Wow. My advice is to cut the anchovies into small pieces and displace them evenly throughout. If my scale went beyond 5, I'd give this dish the top. 5 Our last course was two of the specials offered, Wild Boar Lasagna and Swordfish. Just the thought of these dishes make make me wanna put all five fingers together and kiss them. The swordfish was PHENOMENAL! Perfectly flaky crust with beautiful grill marks and seriously juicy medium cooked inside. I don't like the bed of farro but only because of the texture. I don't count that against the dish because even it was tasty. The lasagna. Oooh, the lasagna. The pasta was thin and there were many so many layers of filling. If it's available, get it. That's the only thing I need to say about it. read more

This place caught our eye and seemed to be in line with what we were craving.....Italian! Our server from the get go was very helpful and informative about the menu and some of the best options within. We weren't disappointed! From the Octopus starter to both handmade pasta dishes we were delighted with every bite! He even suggested splitting my entree into two so that I could have a bit of both since I was struggling choosing just one. The atmosphere was nice and it wasn't too crowded. We've tried a couple of different cocktails from their menu and they were amazing and very tasty. And the food was incredible. Our server Brandon was super professional, friendly, and attentive. Also, he is very knowledgeable about the whole menu and gave to us great recommendations. I was a little confused at first because I looked at the "bar Tulia" menu online before and when I was seated I got a completely different menu.
