After many years in business, Pazzo still proves they know how to create a nice ambiance and serve excellent meals. We started with a casear salad (with anchovies, of course) and the seared peppercorn tuna (with arugula and a nice citrus jus). For entrees, we had the rigatoni with vodka braised beef and calabrian chiles (one of my favorite dishes), and tried the chicken aqua limone for the first time. It had so many great things going on with fresh citrus, cherry peppers, and a side of olive oil whipped potatoes. The dish was absolutely outstanding and memorable (and, at $29, one of the least expensive entrees on the nemu). Once again, even under new ownership, Pazzo proves to be a top restaurant in Old Naples. read more

I have noticed a great improvement since my last review. I was SO fortunate to sit at the bar where Sarah was tending bar! Her ALWAYS positive attitude and infectious smile draws me to her bar EVERY TIME I come here. Tonight, I started with the chop salad. It is smaller than it use to be, and in MY opinion, there was too much dressing which overpowers the fresh ingredients in the salad. My main course was the parmesan encrusted 7oz filet with their crispy potatoes. I requested medium rare but it came out medium to medium well. I didn't make a big thing of it at the time, but did give constructive opinion to Amanda strictly for training purposes. My Dessert here was my high point as Sarah makes the BEST Espresso Martini in town. It already has a shot of FRESH espresso but I added an additional single espresso because I can never have enough espresso If the food matched my 5 star service, I think my entire experience would have been 5 stars.... still better than my last 3 star experience read more

Pazzo Food was good, but the service and billing completely ruined the experience. We were told the kitchen was flexible and open to modifications, but when we actually asked, there was zero willingness to help. Very dismissive tone once the order started. The biggest issue came at the end. $100 in gift cards were not applied to the bill. The manager initially admitted it was her mistake. She then came back and tried to say we were given the wrong receipt -- which made no sense, because we clearly had the original check the entire time. It felt like backpedaling instead of owning a clear error. Good food doesn't excuse poor service and sketchy handling of the bill. Came here with a group of 8 for a birthday. Our server went above and beyond to make the evening special; she was attentive, kind and truly thoughtful. A few of the standouts were the caprese salad - the cheese has an incredible melt in your mouth texture, and the butternut squash ravioli - the sweetness of the squash with the tanginess of the sauce created a perfectly balanced tasty dish. Food was great and service was at a leisurely pace. Nice ambiance and waiter Benjamin was adequate. However, we were seated right outside of the kitchen even though there were ample seats and tables open for dining. We made a reservation and being seated where we were was not appreciated by us. Watching the waitstaff coming and going all through dinner was annoying and disappointing. We told the hostess that she should do better in the future when seating guests with reservations. Her response was "Well you should have said something." Agreed we could have but it's her job to be more aware. Not acceptable response regardless. An overall enjoyable evening, with a few tweaks it would be a five star review. We were seated promptly, and John our server took our drink order. I enjoyed my "Joey lollipops" spicy margarita. We had some great garlic bread that had the consistency of focaccia and was super yummy. Entrees were a little more uneven. I enjoyed the veal parm special and shared it with others (it was sizeable!) and included a side of spaghetti. Hubby had the crab spacatelli and it was a little rich and too sweet to his liking. My Aunt tried a new entree server recommended (torodelli?) and it was so spicy she had to send it back. It was stuffed tortellini with a red sauce, sausage and a large meatball in middle. The meatball and sausage weren't the culprits, it was the red sauce and seemed to have gotten confused with another dish, as the menu description did not call out any spiciness. I love spicy and tried it and couldn't tolerate it either - reminded me of that red pepper sauce and burned my mouth. Unfortunately, it took quite awhile for her to get a replacement dish with a different sauce. Enjoyed our favorite Cabernet (Faust) and wine list had lots of great options at various price points. We sat at 8:15 p.m. and wanted to order appetizers, but server said that we HAD to order appetizers and main course together. We ordered 4 appetizers: 2 types of bread, burrata, and calamari. 10 minutes later the main course arrived. We were not done with our appetizers. That was issue #1. Issue #2: my husband ordered his steak medium rare, and it came as rare. He had to send it back twice. Manager came to the table and was very nice and apologetic. She offered to give us free dessert, but we refused it. We were not complaining because we wanted something free, we just wanted our meal to be as we requested. I want to emphasize how nice the manager was, she really tried to make things right. I also want to make it clear that we were very polite and calm when we complained. Issue #3 was one of my drinks. I ordered a lemon drop with sugar on the rim, and as you can see on the picture there was no sugar, and the drink itself was terrible. I did not complain because we didn't want to have to talk to the nice manager again, but the whole drink stayed on the table when we left. Server never asked what happened. That was another issue... Our server didn't care to really take care of us. From the beginning she knew that we weren't pleased that we had to order everything at once, but didn't care. Let me make it very clear that I understand that servers want to flip tables as quickly as possible, but when we sat down at 8:15 p.m. the restaurant was only half full, and they close at 10 p.m. So it's not like she needed to flip our table quickly because there would be no other table once we got up, we only had about 2 hours to eat and leave since they close at 10. We were done around 9:45 p.m. and by then there was only a few tables left. So, no... we didn't want to stay for a long period of time, we just wanted to enjoy our appetizers without feeling rushed. Manager did explain that they were supposed to wait 10 minutes between appetizers and main course, but 10 minutes is not enough especially if the table orders 4 appetizers. I would totally understand them making us ordering everything IF we were seated at 5, 6, or 7 p.m., but after 8p.m there's no need to rush customers anymore. At the end, we heard our server and another young female server talking bad about another table. I'm giving 2 starts because despite my pasta being very basic, my husband's steak being sent back twice, our friends said that their food was good. My wife, daughter, son and me had dinner at Pazzo in downtown Naples this evening. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. As you get settled in this pretty crammed restaurant, the waitress casually asks if she can bring you some bread. Nobody turns down bread, right :). Then you look at the menu, and quickly realize that will be added to the bill. Now I know what type of place I am at- everything she asks (what type of Salad would you like), means a side salad is extra. Got it. Their pasta is made fresh onsite, but they don't offer a gluten free option of any kind. Their Gluten free options are ordering another Entree, and they will leave off the pasta side. When my wife ordered the Salman, they would leave off the pasta side, but you don't substitute it for anything else like more vegetables. That would be extra. Got it :) The pasta I ordered was good, but the portion very small. So small it won't be my dinner. The taste was good, just so few of the rigatoni noodles I won't be driving home full for sure. My daughter enjoyed hers very much, and my son, who normally eats more than me, was thrilled with the" Freddo" (Fettuchini Alfredo and he added chicken). In fact, he even took the extra home. The food I give a 9, but the portion size a 7. I wish there would have been pizza's on the menu, but I know many Italian places don't want to sell lower price items, or pizzas at all for that fact. Most of the tables had white tablecloths, and some were bare, and I am not sure why. The tables were so crammed tougher, I was sitting as close to the person at the table next to me, as I was to my own son sitting next to me at our own table. Great looking furniture, but too tight, and extremely loud. The ambiance I give a 6. But if they spread out the tables and the news was brought down it definitely could be a 9. Our waitress was nice and attentive, and a manager did stop by. Since the food did taste good, it didn't seem much to address with her as their portion size is their portion size, and not much they can do about it being so loud in there. As much as we did enjoy the food, I wouldn't come back on my own accord nor would I discourage someone else from giving it a try But if I was with others who wanted to dine here, I would certainly join them. To begin with the sweet front of house staff were extremely friendly, Amanda was super bright, friendly and attentive, not missing a beat!!! Jenna our server was on her toes the entire evening, clearly a seasoned server with a super sweet personality. Then there was the FOOD!!!! Every single thing we ordered was outstanding. Even the anchovies for the Ceasar were out of this world!!!! Come to find out Chef is picky about his anchovies and these were as good as you can find in the Mediterranean, not the overly salted variety. Squash Ravioli lived up to its hype in a big way, huge portion too for a starter. Second starter were super fresh and delish Mussels , presentation gorgeous! Our two mains were the Blackened Grouper on handmade Linguini smothered with white sauce, hubby does not usually eat everything on his plate but he devoured it! Very pleasing but a little dated dining room. Staff is very nice and attentive. We had the $39 pick 2 and a glass of wine. We both had upgrades. One Chicken piccata and one 7 ounce filet. Meatball appetizer was excellent. Nice firm meatball and very good sauce. Cesar salad also very nice and served on a cold plate. The Filet I had to tell out server Jose that I did not want the bulb of garlic and I dod not want garlic in the sautéed spinach. The result was perfect. Even the cruspy.potatos which were junks of potatos that must have been boiled then coated and fried. The terrible was the chicken piccata. Not a hint of lemon or wine in the piccata sauce. The linguine was discusting. Looked appealing until you tasted it. OVERWELMING BITTER GARLIC. Inedible. Believe me, they do not cook like that in Italy. I may come back but I will have to have the server explain what is in each dish and then if I can change it to taste correctly By the way , the piccata was an upcharge of $10 and the filet was $15 more. Similar to most restaurants in Downtown Naples, Pazzo is on the expensive side but wow is the food good. For the past few years, Pazzo has been a must-stop on my visits to Naples. The food has been consistently good from year to year, before and during the pandemic. My most recent visit was a Valentine's celebration with my boo. We were able to make a reservation for a Sunday night about a week in advance. It is definitely harder to get a table in season than other times of the year. We arrived early, giving ourselves more time for parking that we ended up needing. They were accommodating and seated us right away. To start, we had the choice of three different complimentary breads. We opted for the garlic bread because a nearby table was raving about it. This stuff was GOOD, like realllllllly good. I had to stop myself from ruining my appetite. We were also brought a complimentary eggplant dish that was delightful. For my main, I got my favorite chicken parmesan dish of all time. While it is not in line with my traditional preference, thin and very crispy, it is in it's own category. This chicken is stuffed with delicious cheesy goodness. It's served with a side of pasta in a lemon sauce. Everything about it is great. The first time I visited Pazzo, maybe 5 years ago, I ordered this dish and I have returned every time I am in Naples to order this dish again and again and again. My boyfriend got the Gorgonzola Filet Dulce. It was perfectly cooked to his liking, the side of potatoes were big and crisp. and the sauce was well balanced. We also ordered sides of the meyer lemon risotto, potatoes, and spinach. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. As usual, the service was top notch. This evening was our first visit to Pazzo!. It will also be the last. We were seated at 610 and waited nearly an hour after placing our order before our meals arrived. We were part of a party of 8. Most of our friends were very satisfied by their food. Unfortunately mine was marginal at best and my wife's fish was hard and dry. She opted not to send it back due to the extensive wait for our initial order. That said it isn't the reason for my poor rating. Our waiter was informed up front that we wanted separate checks. At the close of the evening he delivered a single check and was nowhere to be found. After waiting a good 15 minutes I approached the hostess and asked her to please find our server. Somehow the request led to the Assistant Manager bringing us another single check. When I questioned him why he replied that I had asked the hostess to have someone do so. After I told him that in fact that never happened he rudely insinuated I was a liar and stormed off. This was followed with another extended wait before the Manager came by to let us know she would handle it. While she did in fact comp one of the couples their bottle of wine, each of our checks had a 20% gratuity included. The service received did not warrant the gratuity. When a spot claims they are the best Italian food in Naples but then goes one step further to say maybe the best Italian food you even had you can expect a critical assessment to take place. I will say, for being picky Italian food person, this places meets the mark. Located on the busy Naples Fifth Ave Pazzo is one of many options you can enjoy, but if you are looking for some authentic Italian cuisine, this is your spot. The location is not huge and it is always pretty busy. I would definitely recommend a reservation. Even in covid the tables are pretty close together but the booths have plexiglass between them to help with distancing. I was with a large party of 8 so we had quite a few appetizers and main entrees, and everyone had nothing bad to say about each one. My go to evaluation for an Italian spot is how they make their marinara as it usually depicts the rest of the quality of their dishes. Accurately so, the first taste came with the calamari and the mussels and both were delicious. Super tender calamari and a flavorful tomato base for the mussels. Yum! The unexpected star was also the bread. I know im recommending bread, which seems really basic, but the ricotta truffle bread is a home run. The bread is super warm and toasty and packed with flavor. Dip in the oil and herb sauce and enjoy! Onto the main dishes, many of us got pasta after we heard it was made in house. I opted for the wild boar Pappardelle. Seriously outstanding. A large bowl of fresh pasta, cooked to al dente and married with a blend of shredded meat bolognese. Im hungry just thinking about it... Some other standouts included the squid ink pasta special, Sunday sauce and spicy rigatoni. If you aren't in the mood for pasta, the steak and potatoes is equally as devious. My friend and I were looking to get off Marco Island and explore Naples a bit. We made Friday night reservations at Pazzo! based on their availability on OpenTable and their Yelp reviews. We actually found street parking just around the corner from the restaurant, and we were able to do a little shopping ahead of the reservation. Once we made it to Pazzo!, we were greeted by a very friendly and attentive hostess who took us to the cutest table with fun plush pink velvet chairs. I loved our table! The server made some great recommendations and let us know that the menu for off-season timing meant everything was 50% off! We started with the Garlic Bread (as recommended by my fellow Yelpers) which was truly mind-blowing. I also got the Shrimp Scampi appetizer over their Lemon Risotto...so good! And for the entrée, my friend and I each opted for the Grilled Group topped with Shrimp and Crabmeat. It was amazing! I came to Pazzo for dinner on my birthday with my family while visiting Naples and had a wonderful time. They have an a la carte menu as well as a three course for $45 menu that features a smaller selection of items on their a la carte menu--it allows you to choose from a selection of their salads/appetizers for a first course, one of their pastas for your main, and one of the desserts. Having eaten there, I would say you'd have to have a pretty empty stomach and big appetite for the three course menu as their portions are generous. We ordered from the a la carte menu, starting with the pane, sale, olio (bread, salt, and oil), the sicilian meatballs, and the calamari misto. The bread is crusty and warm and comes with good quality oil for dipping with the salt already in there. This might seem like a small thing to folks, but I really appreciated that they brought with it a salt shaker and oil dispenser in case we ran out. As someone who is generous with the oil in each bite, I appreciated the forethought, even though we didn't end up needing a re-up. The meatballs are incredible--super tender and rich, in a delicious tomato sauce. Could have probably eaten three more orders of that. The calamari was excellent as well, fried nicely with delicate breading that was still crispy when it first hit the table. For my entree, I had the linguini alla vongole. Numerous clams topped al dente pasta in a shallow pool of savory yet light clam broth-based, intensely garlicky sauce. Pretty much the platonic ideal of a linguine alla vongole. I also could tell they cleaned the clams very well because there I didn't notice a single speck of sand. My dinner buddies had the chicken parmigiana, the freddo! (a hilariously Jeb!-like fettuccini alfredo), and the rigatoni. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes. My one thing is that there is very little for vegetarians to eat here. One of my dinner buddies is vegetarian and the only entree he could order was the fettuccini alfredo, which he said was delicious but was definitely not as substantial in portion or as complex of a dish as what the rest of us could eat. Plus, alfredo being what it is, that means there is no entree for vegans at all. It is of course up to the restaurant whether they prioritize being vegetarian- or vegan-friendly at all, so I don't fault them for it. It's just a fact that vegetarians and vegans will likely want to go elsewhere, as there are likely a handful of other Italian restaurants on that same stretch of downtown Naples that are more veg-friendly. That being said, we had an excellent dinner here. Service was excellent, the sidewalk vibes are lovely (great spot for people watching), and I would definitely make a return trip. read more

I was hoping for 5 star, but my overall experience was a disappointing 3 stars. Not bad, but just OK. BAR: First impressions are huge. After I was seated, I watched a server wipe sweat from his forehead and using the same hand grab a piece of fruit for a garnish before adding it to the drink. So gross. Thoroughout the evening, I observed other servers forage around the fruit to stab it on a toothpick and add it to drinks. Please. Stop. Doing. This. Use tongs for Pete's sake! My first tip is to stick to beer or wine which is less likely to have germy hand contact. My cosmo was well made, but a bit small in size for $15.50 (Tito's). After we ordered drinks, we heard the bartender asking another patron if they wanted the happy hour wine. We were not informed of a happy hour when we were handed the drink and food menu. I added a photo of the happy hour items from their website for easy access. House chard is Woodbridge, so although $7 is a great price, it would be nice to have a slightly higher quality wine for the house choice. HH is from 4-5:30. ATMOSPHERE: Nice selection of outdoor, bar and indoor seating. I'd recommend requesting a booth if you are inside as they are a bit enclosed to limit the noise factor. SERVICE: The bartenders are energetic and friendly, but there were a few occasions it was difficult to get their attention. When bars get busy, I understand it is a challenge to attend to everyone at the exact time they need. Experienced and talented bartenders who have that peripheral vision to acknowledge when a patron is looking for assistance can be a difficult find. If you want to make reservations on a Saturday, a credit card is required and if you cancel in under 48 hours you are charged $75 per person. They do have a Wine and Dine club you can sign up online. The bartender said once you spend $500 you get $25 off. On the website there are more details on all benefits if you choose to sign up. FOOD: The meatballs, which arrived less than 5 minutes after we ordered them, were in a sauce which was flavorful and a generous portion which was perfect for the fresh, warm bread to be dipped into. The meatballs themselves were a bit chewy/dense. This can be a personal preference, but I find meatballs which are less dense seem to have better flavor. The shrimp scampi was good, however the lemon risotto was mushy. The bean soup was mostly broth and few beans. These items arrived in less than 10 minutes after we ordered. Nice dinner. The service was excellent. Good ambience. They are having their 40% off menu prices until October. We had the grouper and the Branzino, nice portions. The bread with the fresh ricotta white truffle bread was the star of the meal. Drinks were solid. read more

Surrounded by northeast Italians in the ornate dining room, I was immediately transported to Great Neck or South Orange. The place is noisy and lively with our "neighbors" talking about the "Sopranos." The drinks were watered down but look amazing. It's loud, full of people and a bit overwhelming. My arugula salad had a delicious and light dressing and was refreshing. Our waiter was very attentive but forgetful. Forgot our drinks, silverware and food took about an hour to be served. We split the veal on the bone parmigiana.It's like a brontosaurus cut. The accompanying spaghetti was good but overcooked. Some entree dishes were over $65. It was as a fun Saturday night but not sure we'll be back. It's rare in Naples to have a 2 hour meal and at this price point, they might consider being more upscale in their service. We stopped in for early bird dinner. While they don't have a true early bird menu, the food is worth it. We sat at the bar and the ladies (Tracy & at the bar made suggestions, which were spot on. Ricotta bread was too die for. The meatballs, while touch cold, we just a bit bitey and flavorful. The veal and peppers were saucy and full of flavor. The paperdo was OK, not the best but not the worst. Service was fantastic. read more
