great experience with regards to delivery, promptness & quality! this is our 3rd order from Otto, 1st delivery to work. the delivery was on time, the driver was very nice. he even called my office to let me know the hospital isn't allowing deliveries up to the departments. pizza was amazing, pear w blue cheese very different & tasty. also got the manchengo cheese w mushrooms which is my new favorite. It's a pizza joint that's stands above all else among its competitors. Don't get me wrong, each pizza joint around the area are good but if I told myself I want to get a slice of pizza, I would just go to some place that I was closest.. since each place practically sells the same type of slice. If I wanted bang for my buck for that type of slice I would go to Santoro. Now that OTTO has arrived, I can go both traditional to crafty style pizza! this is the only OTTO that i've been to ever, so i can't compare to other ones. but i thoroughly enjoy this location and their slices. i've also ordered several pies for work gatherings and they never disappoint. also, the beer on tap is always good. and the customer service is great. everyone who works there is either super nice or just offers good customer service. it's a win win. read more

I'm quite fond of their style of crust (thin + crispy), and I like that they offer individual slices both basic and interesting. (The slices are good-sized, too.) However, despite liking the crust style better, I haven't liked the actual pizza nearly as much as my other go-to places. So far, individual-slice quality has varied between "good" and "eh, OK". (Not sure whether it's due to variation in the original pizza, or variation in how long the slices have been waiting for someone to buy them.) But I also haven't ordered a fresh whole pizza yet; we'll see how that goes! read more

Pretty bad, Just ordered a large cheese. The tomato "sauce" was in little clumps and not much of that. The cheese was sparse. Definitely not going back. With so many pizza places in Arlington, the only thing going for it is it's close to the Capitol movie theater. If you go to the movie don't bother staying for the pizza. read more

Staff often seems like it feels there are better things to do than serve the customers. Initial experiences included: having the non-orderly queuing method of serving people at the register having people cut in front; being served consistently the smallest piece from a pie when other pieces are available. Then the clincher: partner and I went to restaurant and she asked for water to be served to her in a glass, rather than in their plastic cups. Server refused. Manager backed server up. Said it was Otto's policy to serve only beer in glass. Wrote Otto a letter about these policies on their Facebook page, and didn't get a response. Too pricey for the small servings their clerks choose. Whomever cuts the pizza doesn't care, either. I had tried to give them a shot over ten times, but that was it. Ordered out the other day, chose a Mashed Potato, Bacon & Scallion pizza online and was given a Chicken, Caramelized Pears & Fontina instead. To the cashier's credit he asked me how it looked before I left, but I couldn't tell it was vastly different from what I ordered from a cursory glance. We ordered OTTO through Foodler on a Friday night when we were prepping to paint our bedroom and just needed something fast to fuel us through the evening. It was so good that the next night, covered in paint and exhausted, we ordered it again. I typically hate white pizza, but OTTO's crust is so good that I didn't even miss the sauce on the pear/gorgonzola or the mashed potato/scallion-- and the red sauce/vidalia onion/sausage was so good we ordered it both nights. We'd been to OTTO in person before (we love the Capitol theater, which they're next door to) but this was a great reminder of the quality pizza they're turning out-- and luckily for us, now available without leaving the house. read more

I have been ordering pizzas from this branch of Otto's every Friday since almost the time they opened. So it saddens me to say I won't be doing business with them ever again. Not only has the quality been slightly going down over the years, but the customer service is atrocious. Today I ordered two pizzas for delivery and was told they would arrive in 45 minutes. It took an hour and a half. I can understand that sometimes things get busy. However, when I called after 1 hr and 20 min of waiting and wondering where our pizzas were, the lady on the phone was really, really dismissive about it. Not only did she tell me that today things were taking 1 hr and 20 min -- strange coincidence that it's the exact amount of time I'd just told her I'd been already waiting -- but when I asked to speak to a manager, she wouldn't let me do so because they were busy and short-staffed and it would "take too long." You read that right, the person on the phone wouldn't put me through to a manager. I would recommend any of the many other pizza places in the area over this one at this point, including the far, far better branch of Otto's in Harvard Square. read more

Great pizza and fantastic service. I am a frequent customer for their gluten free pizza. I won't lie and say it's just like real pizza nothing will ever be like real pizza but Otto provides a great gluten free option. The crust is thin and crispy (I recommend light sauce to compliment that) and they know how to cook the gluten free dough. We got a mango and pulled pork pizza in the Arlington location. Out of 8 slices on a large pie; 4 had absolutely no pulled pork and one slice had neither pulled pork or mango. Very disappointing experience! We placed an order for delivery at 5:45 since we know the delivery usually takes a while. We were told it would take about 75 minutes. After 90 minutes and still no pizza, we called to see where our order was, but did not receive a clear response as to whether or not our pizza was even ready. Whoever was on the phone told us to come pick it up instead because they were short a driver. We called back and were told that we had made the order for pick-up instead of delivery, but we were still unsure whether or not the pizza was even ready. After pointlessly explaining that we had made the order for delivery and wanted to know when it would arrive but getting no direct answer, we asked for our money back (not sure if that will actually ever happen). Otto of the Portland, Maine chain is okay, but something is lost in the translation. I was eager to try them because I love the one in downtown Portland. First off no signature mashed potato scallion-crazy to me because that one is amazing. It's like not having pepperoni. The Pizza slices were cut in a very odd shape. Finally the pizza, which is normally thin...was exceptionally thin. Frankly I should have said something but you know what-it's not my job to monitor their quality control... For $3.50 + tax I got almost no pizza. The toppings were good as they always are-but this place is loosing favor with me. I've tried them in a few places now and for some reason the Portland one is the only place where I seem to consistently get a great slice. Get it together Arlington Otto!!! read more

Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with Otto's service, delivery and food. I've been to the Portland, ME location a few times and was quite pleased. So when I saw this new location in Arlington I was looking forward to it, especially since I saw that delivery was available. Parking is not easy in this area. I ordered two small pizzas and a house salad for delivery and was told 45 minutes for arrival. After 90 minutes I called to check on the status and after some confusion on the employee's part, he located my order and said it would be here in 5 minutes. I asked how long the driver had been out and he replied 'he left over 30 minutes ago'. I told him I didn't want cold pizza that has been in a car for 30+ minutes. He then replied 'oh it won't be cold, trust me. My manager thinks he only left 10 minutes ago'. No apology was offered. The driver arrived without an apology, but with excuses like the GPS took him to the next street over (not sure how that added so much time). I paid and tipped well as I typically do, and brought the food to my family. Two expensive, ice-cold pizzas, and a small, wilted salad that came with the wrong dressing was the end result. Unfortunately our kitchen is being renovated and we didn't have an oven to heat them. I tried to call them but of course the line was busy. We threw everything away since I wasn't sure how long these pizzas were traveling around Arlington for. $40 down the drain. I wish I had read the reviews on the poor delivery service on Yelp prior to ordering. It's clear that delivery is too much to handle for this establishment. We will not back. read more

Got it half an hour later than my table mate. Tried ordering delivery. Live a 5 minute drive away. An hour after my order, they delivered the wrong pizza. I ordered a SMALL pineapple pizza. Was delivered a LARGE Cauliflower pizza. I called and they offered a future credit or redilvery. Already paid a tip :( . It's been an hour and a half. Still waiting for the correct pizza. One of the worst pizzas I've had in a long time. Just got a basic cheese pizza, and from the over $16 cost I was expecting much better quality. I found every bite annoying, from the overcooked burnt crust, to the crunchy grainy corn meal on the bottom, and to the random uneven globs of tomato sauce on the pizza. We love good New York and Italian style pizza, and have found it hard to find good ones in the area. We've been to the one in Harvard Square and don't remember his pizza being this awful. If you don't know what good pizza tastes like then you may like it here. They have all of these fancy pizzas but haven't even perfected the basics. The pizza is consistently over cooked with a very hard oily crust. Even if it wasn't over cooked, it's really nothing special and very over priced for subpar pizza. If you get pizza by the slice beware because they are happy to over charge you for pizza that has been sitting out for a while. Really disappointed. read more

Twenty minutes later they call back and say they don't have the right ingredients for the pizza we ordered. Okay...? Then, pizza is delivered and they ask for cash payment. top notch pizza/awful delivery. My pizzas arrived from an out of breath, seemingly frustrated bike delivery boy. When I opened my boxes both pizzas were smooshed to one side, some slices flipped over or curled in on themselves. After rearranging the slices back to a normalish shape, and re-assigning most of the dislocated cheese and toppings I was able to enjoy my dinner. The pizza itself was great, with some real good ingredients. The pizzas are small and expensive but stand out when compared to chains or your average corner store pizza place. Worth it for real pizza lovers but maybe pick up to avoid any troubles with delivery. read more
