    Jack and coke!!!
    Christopher M.

On a day off from work, or even after work, I try to hangout at a bar or restaurant. Then one day which was two weeks ago, I've decided to go out of the area to hang out and have a drink at a place called Our Place. Located in Lake Forest (Orange County). It's a OC version of Cheers. Except, Sam Malone doesn't even work here, and Norm Peterson doesn't even come here for drink. LOL. I came here 2 Fridays ago to some drink. When I came inside, I saw there's a live band playing which is happening on Fridays and Saturdays. It was packed last night. I had myself a jack and coke, and enjoy some great music. The guy who made my drink that night is the owner I think. Great guy. Then last week (Wednesday), I came here again for food and drink. I got a Tater Kegs and their special which was Chicken Alfredo fettuccini (I think it what it was). Food was soooo tasty. Not too bad at all. Oh, and I got my jack and coke. Service was super friendly. Very cool people to talk to. I just need to know everyone their name. Overall, this is a great bar to go to. And if you go here long enough, everyone will know your name. 5 stars.

This is the best damn bar in OC. The food has no right being as good as it is. You'd expect bar food to be passable but it's legit delicious. The bartenders are super nice and always attentive. They have good vibes at the spot and a nice big outside patio area. Clean bathrooms and they have really good house music Tuesday's.

    Poke bowl was freaking amazing

They have karaoke and games and live bands ! No matter what time of the day you go , you'll have a great time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!

The restaurant is pretty huge but it gets super loud! The screens are always playing kpop groups with music playing and its always fun to watch. For food, I've tried a lot of their menu and everything is so good and shareable. The korean fried chicken is crispy, not dry, and seasoned so well! A favorite amongst the group was the beef intestine, which I've never had before and was pretty impressed by. It was super juicy and paired well with the scallions and sauce. Another favorite of the group was the corn cheese. It was like a pizza but corn cheese. My absolute tried and true is the pork belly. It is soo good, especially with the kimchi, peppers, and roasted garlic cloves. It definitely is my personal favorite on their menu! I can definitely see why this place is so popular!

The grilled pork belly was really good, and we even placed a second order! The rest of the food was good enough, as expected for Korean bar/drinking food. Service was okay. They had forgotten to give us the soju we ordered, so we had to ask for it. I enjoyed the casual vibes. It's a good spot to go to for casual Korean food and drinks. And you don't need to tip at this place! Although there is a 10% service fee or something like that.

My family and I decided to visit for the first time for British cuisine. It's not a far departure…read morefrom foods of other cultures around the locality, but you'll notice differences between British and American English, for example. Many of their dishes include chips, which during my visit, resembled steak fries due to their thickness. You'll also see that curry is a signature dish in the menu, which reflects how Anglo-Indian cuisine has maintained popular influence in the United Kingdom. I ordered Cutty Sark's curry with chicken, rice, and chips at medium spice. The name is derived from a British merchant vessel that operated during the late 1800s. The curry had a mix of savory and sweet flavors, which reminded me of both Japanese and Indian cuisines at the same time. I couldn't say with certainty that the curry fit into just one cuisine. Packed with some heat and bold in spice, it's a delightful and large dish if you desire a lot of flavor. Where the curry went a little off course was the addition of celery. The petiole is strongly flavored and distracts from the curry in my perhaps controversial opinion. Curry seems to better mix with potatoes and carrots. I tried some of the bacon sarnie as well. The word "sarnie" is an affectionate diminutive for "sandwich." American bacon usually comes from pork belly, which provides a flavorful yet oily crispiness. However, the British variant usually comes from the loin, which is meatier and leaner. I thought of the bacon here as similar to a savory ham. The sarnie bread is fried in fat to emphasize buttery flavor. The restaurant, filled with English decorations, has the style of a cozy and dim pub. There's a good amount of small wooden booths with cracked leather seating. Our server was really nice and made sure we got everything we needed despite the busyness of the restaurant. For example, my curry came with a chutney, and I had asked for a lid to take it home. While I forgot to take the chutney home, she went outside as she noticed that we took the back exit to look at their double-decker bus. She even offered to take a picture of us. The service deserves a lot of kudos, and we were grateful for her consideration.

However, after our experience last weekend, I don't know if I'll be returning any time soon. We went to celebrate Father's Day and my birthday and we're seated quickly. While the restaurant wasn't terribly crowded, the service was awful. The blonde waitress with the British accent was very rude and yelled at my son's (15, 18, and 21) which they later said made then feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The service was very slow and we only had one water refill, despite asking repeatedly, in almost 3 hours. They were also out of multiple items including scotch eggs, sausage rolls, steak and ale pies, and sticky coffee pudding (they only had two). We never received our scotch eggs and sausage rolls and it wasn't until I asked about them after the entrees came that I was told they had run out. And we were never told that the beef wellington, which we ordered in place of the steak and ale pies that they had run out of, was almost $20 more than the steak and ale pies. Then, the bill came and the scotch eggs and sausage rolls were still on the bill, which I failed to notice at the time, so we had to return and ask for a credit for those two items. This was the worst experience we've had at this restaurant. We've had the blonde waitress before and she can be abrupt but this time, she crossed the line into being downright rude and we all felt unwelcome as a result. And to receive the treatment and have this many issues while celebrating special family events was disappointing. I'm not sure if and when I'll be back after the poor treatment we received which is a shame because I do love their food.
