We are so happy Clifford took over and revamped the menu. He admits to being a foodie and it shows in the quality food he is serving. The wait staff are wonderful and prompt. And they preempt you when you want to refill. It's like a real family place where everyone knows each other except with fantastic bands. We finally got to go back to Our Place yesterday for live entertainment 1 to 4. We love the Honey Bees and they put on a great show! I can't say enough about the food here. This place is always busy with locals and this is a sign of really Good food. I have tried many items from the carne Torta to the filet skewers to simple dishes like a burger or taquitos. The food is fresh and the ingredients are not the ordinary. Funny, I used to compare that bar to Cheers, and right on the window here is a reference to Cheers. I will say what took me here was a picture from Kelly U of the wings. Came in here Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised it wasnt over crowded, due to it being Football Sunday, etc. Found a couple seats at the bar, which had super cute Halloween seat covers on them. We were greeted by the bartender, but we werent sure what we wanted yet. Once we ordered, a Bacardi and Diet and a Malibu and Coke, Sally said she hadnt seen us before, and introduced herself, and asked our names. She was very friendly and super attentive the entire time we were there. I dont recall Fish and Chips being on the menu, but I saw a picture of them on Yelp so I asked. They have them, and she let us know there are a ton of "secret menu" items they serve but arent listed. The buffalo wings, in my opinion, were PERFECT. Perfect amount of sauce, great flavor, just amazing. Exactly what Ive been craving for months. The Fish and Chips were SO good. Cooked perfectly, not dry, so much flavor... Just, WOW! Served with Cocktail Sauce and Tarter Sauce. I used the cocktail sauce on my fries, it was really good... and used the tarter sauce on the fish. I ended up with three Bacardi and Diets, all very well poured, and the third extra strong once it was established I wasnt the one driving. This is a place I can see myself becoming a regular at. Amazing, friendly service and everything was delicious. Its definitely more of a dive-y bar with an older crowd, which is what I prefer. My review is a combination of different aspects. My 4 star aspect: If you're age 50+, smoke, and would like a local place to drink during the middle of the day then you'll love this place. It'll be hard not to feel welcomed by the locals there. That's just from what I observe. Definitely the typical watering hole dive bar that you see in movies but for older folk. My 1 star aspect: The place smells like it's made of cigarettes'. I get it's a bar but it was overwhelming for me and my wife. The waiter asked us what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and to our relief, after a couple of minutes went by she had forgotten our order so we didn't feel bad about picking up and leaving otherwise we'd have to chug our first round of drinks to get out of there. If you're in your 20s-40s, this bar most likely won't be for you or at least what you're used to. Maybe my perspective will change when I'm in my mid 50s. read more

Our Place Lake Forest is a great neighborhood Bar/Restaurant. The staff is very friendly and they take good care of the customers. I host an Open Mic there on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday every Month. It is always Taco Tuesday when I am there. I get the Beria Tacos and they are delicious. Our Place has great music on many other nights. They also have comedy nights and are great supporters of the LGBTQ community. The owner cliff is a great guy and does an awesome job of running the place. I highly recommend Our Place. read more

How did I not visit this place sooner? I am in love with this spot. We arrived around 730ish on a Saturday with the intention to have a few drinks and eat. I wasn't expecting the menu to be that exciting but the food offered was a very nice selection. I went with the salmon with veggies and a fully loaded baked potato. The salmon was perfect, the veggies were seasoned so well and the potato..well the bacon made it especially since it was good bacon. I had a few long islands that were made perfect. My husband had the short ribs which he also enjoyed very much. After a full stomach we sat back sipped on our drinks and listened to the amazing band that was playing. The service was impeccable and the owner was gracious and welcoming. So glad I didn't waste another weekend trying to find a good spot to have a drink and relax. read more

Okay so I don't know where to begin on this one... I really dislike writing negative reviews, like it has to be kinda crazy for me to want to do anything but a really positive review. I have been to this place a few times in the past but it had been at least 5 years. I knew it tended to have a much older clientele base, but everyone was nice enough even with their "locals or regulars only" kind of attitude. Skip forward to tonight... With spring break and our kids out of town the girl and I decided to try Trivia night. We sat down on the patio plenty of room under the tent. Trivia set up was really nice we loved the projector to add visual effects to the aspect of the game and the music was good too. Our server was a blond young lady I forget her name, sorry but she was very polite and friendly and helped us with everything we asked for. She was attentive and even though both beers I asked for blew their kegs she was super chill about it and followed up on everything. I asked about the nacho size and she was very knowledgeable and helpful about everything. I wish I had gotten the pork over the chicken but not her fault because she clearly said she didn't eat pork. Also my girl really liked her burger special and I had a bite and had to admit it was very good. Okay so here is where things just went down hill faster then an avalanche. I have lived in Lake Forest or Irvine my entire life, I haven't seen or worse SMELLED so many people smoking cigarettes since that bar attached to the back side of Denny's on the opposite side of El Toro 25 years ago where that Chinese Buffet is now. Like does everyone who still smokes ciggs just like have an online thread about lets meet up here to make sure not only we die of lung cancer but everyone else does too even outside... I couldn't smell my food only a Vegas Casino level of smoke... Then on top of this there is multiple people 25 feet away in the ally smoking weed, So this lovely combo of smoke is just floating in with little kids at the table next to us... Then no joke the other brunette server drops off drinks to another table and as she is walking back into the bar she pulls out an Epen from her short shorts and hits the vape in front of everyone... I am all about people doing whatever they want when it doesn't effect others, but maybe keep it at home, or be slightly more discrete. Okay and BY FAR the worst part of the night was the group of Aholes in the back yelling and heckling the poor new Trivia girl Dez. She was such a sweetheart and obviously nervous going in front of everyone on the mic for the first time. Apparently a lot of these regulars/Aholes are used to someone else and this person quit or wasn't there, and so these people made it their mission to make this poor young girl uncomfortable. Their Mic was shitty and people couldn't hear her and so they were heckling and making her feel even worse, just being rude and terrible in general. The worst most sickening thing was that one of the regulars made their team name "Oh by the way I suck balls" So that this poor young shy girl had to say their team name every time... We were extremely upset, uncomfortable and will never come back here again. I am very sorry to your kind and hard working kitchen staff, and sorry for our server, but yea this place needs to be shut down... I could have very easily taken pictures of their bathroom or kitchen/back area which was totally open to the public but just wanted to evacuate ASAP. Dirty doesn't really do it more like filthy... I seriously felt like I was being Punked or on a Gordan Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares Episode... I tried to speak to a manager but it was just the bartender. He was very polite but I could fully tell there is nothing he had any power to do to make any change. Shame on the owners this is just a zero out of 5 if not for most of your staff.. EDIT After reading other reviews I also forgot to add it was AWFUL to have people with dogs randomly on long leashes just letting their dogs come up to us at our table. It was beyond rude and uncomfortable, especially when another dog started barking at a dog right behind us while the Trivia event was underway... I mostly come here for trivia every Thursday. It's one of the funnest trivia formats I've experienced, with lots of creative team names that are hilarious (ours included). The only occasional negative is understaffing, but service has been spectacular for months now. 9/10 times the food is great, a level up from "bar food". It's a bit indulgent though, like, a lotta things on the menu are tasty, and I save my cheat days for the weekend. As a bonus, trivia is out in the patio area (weather permitting) where my friends can smoke and bring their dogs. All around a great time! TBH I'm not a fan of dogs or smoking, but what am I gonna do, bitch about other people having fun? The crowd in general is super friendly. Met a lot of good people here. In the year that I've been frequenting this establishment, I've only seen one drama moment. Not like the other bar a mile away that has security on staff on a weekday. I've also had a great time doing karaoke here. And the one comedy night I went to was done very well, funny AF with easy minimums. I can't say enough about Our Place. It's owned by a great couple and truly has a family feel. You can tell they have lots of "regulars" who love to go there to unwind with friends. My favorite thing about OP though is how awesome it is for DOGS!! They have a wonderful porch where dogs are more than welcome. They will bring you water, carrot sticks, even a hamburger made just for our four legged buddies!! It's nothing fancy, just a great local watering hole perfect to chill and have some fun. I have never felt so insulted by a bartender. She would not look at us to take our order, and only spoke up to tell us to move out of her way. She was working at night on January 26, 2019. She wore a black top with her brown hair up in a pony tail, with glasses. I've never been here before, and so this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. My brother spoke with management, and he seemed kind, but it's unfortunate that someone this rude chose a job that requires you to socialize, and be kind to your guests. Unfortunately, I will not be back, because I felt uncomfortable to try and order a drink. I think you need to find someone else who knows how to create an amazing guest experience. read more

Our place bar or should I say "OP" to the people who call it more than just a bar and who respect the people who work there. OP offers soo much and it gives people a place to go whether they're having a horrible day, they don't have friends they connect with, they need a drink or some good food- whatever the hell is, I have never been inside another bar where it is so United and people are so nice . The person down below must be used to the bar inside a Newport Beach hotel or maybe the Diamond club at the Angels Stadium. I really wish I could leave a good review of this local bar, there aren't many around, but this place could easily be the star of the Bar Remake show where that gruff man straightens out the place and teaches the servers about food service. Service was friendly but slow, 45 minutes to an hour to get our sandwiches and fries, which were delivered sporadically and the ranch and condiments showed up later. The French dip sandwich had an awful smell like dog food and tasted horrible, couldn't be eaten. The chicken quesadilla was also awful, must have been soaked in the drip pan from an old smoker. I was never really sure what Our Place was? A bar, a restaurant? I have driven past it many times as it resides in the same shopping center as my local Albertsons. I had often seen lively customers on the outdoor patio that always seemed to be really enjoying themselves. It looked pretty non-descript otherwise from the outside, tucked away in the corner of this Lake Forest shopping center. One of my friends asked if I wanted to meet up there after work to hang out, so as I pulled into the shopping center, I texted him and said, "I am here. Parking." He texted me back, "I am here. Drinking." Hence, my cue to venture inside. Lol. Ok, let's be frank here. If dive bars are not your thing, this may not be your kinda place. I trust my friend's judgment though and walked in and joined him at the bar. This place is small. It has a dining area with a smattering of tables and chairs and an L-shaped bar. It kinda reminded me of a divey, hole in the wall, mom and pop type of Cheers place. I say this because the bartender was one of the owners and most of the patrons seemed to know each other and knew the owner, Sally, well. She greeted me warmly as a sat down and asked me what I wanted to drink. My friend was drinking a whiskey with ginger ale. I decided to get a Cadillac Margarita. Drinks are serious stuff here. My Cadillac was the real deal, in a big girl glass and no wimpy pours here. Definitely could taste the booze in this thing. Good drink. My friend said he was hungry and they had good food there, so he ordered us an order of buffalo wings to start. The wings were well prepared and tasty with good flavor to them. Enjoyed these. He then ordered us some nachos. I had no idea what I was in store for here. Nachos in a bar seemed pretty standard fare but these were anything but. First off, the plate was humongous. The tortilla chips were covered in cheese, black beans, jalapenos, salsa, olives, avocado, sour cream, tomatoes. OMG, they were so friggin good :) Some of the best nachos I have ever had. These were a great accompaniment to my mucho strongo Caddy Margarita. We were stuffed after this. Owner, Sally, was the best. She kept my water glass full and made sure everything was always good with our food and libations. Patrons were a friendly, lively bunch. One girl next to us said she had never seen me in before and introduced herself. She was eating a plate of spaghetti off the menu. It looked good. My friend said they have live band entertainment often in the evenings and it got really crowded on the weekends. Glad to have been introduced to this local hole in the wall. This place feels like home! As a woman I feel safe to have a couple drinks and not be harassed, which is rare! It's a happy environment with AMAZING food! You can't even call it bar food, the shits gourmet! I honestly, wish there were more stars to give! They always have stellar entertainment! Karaoke, trivia is a blast, the whole bar fills up with people they all interact with one another it's lots of laughs it feels like family game night... corn hole tournaments, Blues Sundays, are so much fun with smoked ribs and the most insane Mac n cheese I've ever had!
