Have been here twice. Once for breakfast and today for lunch. The breakfast was really good. Home cooked style. Today's lunch. Not so great. One Sunday special chicken fried steak which looks a little overcooked. A "Texas dip sandwich" (French dip). The sandwich is fine. Good thinly sliced beef. But I ordered the sweet potato waffle fries. But got potato chips instead. Two roast Turkey over cornbread stuffing. Not too bad. But like most restaurants these days. Need to plug some holes on the salt shaker. read more

I don't visit my friends and family in Mansfield often (it's been 10 years), and we try different places but Our Place is the only place we have breakfast. The ambiance is delightfully cozy. They've freshed and expanded it in the decade since I was last there; all my favorite decor items were still there, still fresh looking among the newer things. And they all looked so good together. The wait staff is friendly and prompt and super helpful. And the food is always good. The last time I was there - 10 years ago - I had the pancakes and eggs with bacon and I still remember it. A whole decade later. Good food. They've changed the menu slightly but all my favorites are still there. This time, we ate there twice. Saturday morning, I chose the Texas Waffle plate, with eggs and bacon. And this time, they served the coffee in pottery mugs, lovely large pottery mugs. And they sold them. I got the dark blue one and will enjoy it and the memory of the people working there - hopefully not for another whole decade. I might return sooner. But until then, I have the lovely mug. We also ate there Sunday, before I returned home. This time, I had one of hte mini breakfasts - 1 egg, 1 piece of bacon, and 1 biscuit - plenty to see me off on my return journey. As always - delightful waitstaff, prompt, helpful, friendly, and the food hot and fresh, well prepared and delicious. In the last 10 months, we have eaten at this location at least a dozen times and have never left wishing we had gone somewhere else. The food is consistently delicious with very generous portion sizes. My husband loves Chicken Fried Steak but has stopped ordering it in restaurants in recent years because it always seems to be something premade by a third-party vendor and pulled out of a freezer bag. Not at Our Place! My husband swears by their Chicken Fried Steak. We have enjoyed everything we have tried here, including their pies. On this visit, we tried the Peanut Butter Pie ($3.75 - sorry no picture) and weren't disappointed. The only other note is because the price of eggs is crazy right now, they did post a sign that they have temporarily added 50 cents to each menu item that contains eggs to offset their increased cost. I am giving them 4 stars because the one thing we noticed is whenever they are pretty busy, we tend to feel neglected and have a hard time getting a server's attention to get things we need like napkins or refills. read more

Got here and registered. Told 10 minute wait. I waited 3. Got seated by an enthusiastic host. Emily was my server. Cheerful, helpful, friendly, efficient. Food she recommended was delicious and servings were generous. Coffee never empty. Bussing staff was like a set crew on a Broadway stay play. Table empties and the team swept in. If you're looking for great food at a respectable price, this may just be your place. The restaurant itself looks like a place from years past, not old but just designed from days past. The menu is extensive and they serve breakfast all day if that's your jam. If you look to your left when you come in the door you'll see a large display case with mostly pies. You'll be hard pressed not to find your favorite flavor. You may need to take your slice to go because the portions are quite large You'll start with complimentary soup and bread which is always good but I usually pass because the regular menu portions are so large I find it difficult to finish my meal. The TX beef sandwich is amazing. The bread is soft and has a hint of garlic. The beef is always tender and there a loaf of it packed on the sandwich. They make their own potato chips or you can choose fries on the side. It's a full plate for sure. Service is always good although you may need to wait in line if you come at peak meal times. The locals know Our Place and seem to frequent it often as I saw many customers come in and address the staff by name. read more

Loved visiting here for breakfast on a Sunday. I enjoyed the ambiance. Felt like I was visiting my grandma for breakfast. I ordered the cinnamon French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. It didn't look like much when it arrived in front of me but to my surprise it was shockingly tasty! My friend ordered the egg bowl. It seemed like an all in one breakfast. The portion sizes were huge, and his looked delicious. He really enjoyed it! I tried some of his hash browns and they were yummy. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Out of state visiting friends! Recommended Our Place for lunch. Country fried steak was really good here. In CA ours are hammered down to be thin but here it was an actual fried steak eggs are flavorful and I was surprised to find Mango in the fruit sides corn muffin was really good as well, came with a Honey butter. What a wide variety of food. Recently went there with family for lunch. There was a short wait but we were seated and were able to enjoy the company of each other in my party. I ordered a spinach berry salad with chicken and balsamic dressing. It was delish! Jalapeno cornbread is good as well as the beef barley soup! Love coming here for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. Great lunch specials like the chicken fried steak that comes with rolls, cornbread, and 2 sides and a cup of the soup of the day (Friday'staco soup is really tasty). Breakfast is great too. We like the chocolate chip pancake and scrambled eggs, the eggs bennedict, and the mobte Carlo (not on the menu anymore but sometimes they'll still make it on request). This was a great little place. We ordered the eggs Benedict and the chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy. Both are really good and fresh . Tasted homemade and the service was fast. I will say being able to pay using a QR was super convenient. We also got the banana pudding pie and the strawberry pie. Went on Monday about 2:45, I think they got a little offended. Ordered our food, which the soup, bread, corn bread and butter was excellent. The chicken fried chicken had a spicy taste to it, wasn't sure if it was the gravy or the chicken. I thought it was a little on the greasy side, so it was good, but not the best I had. You know the place is good when it has one of the most reviews, (if not the most) for this small but growing town. Also, when you show up about 10mins before they open, and there are already 5-7 other cars that got there before you, all eagerly awaiting for the "Open" sign to be on. We love this newly found breakfast place so much that we came 3 times in less than 2 weeks. Made a mistake the second time we were here by seating ourselves when we saw all the other early birds did the same. Little did we know, they're all regulars, have their usual booth, don't even need to look at the menu, the waitresses already know what they would order. Us newbies on the other hand, started getting some dirty look about 15mins into our meal, that's when we realized we must have taken someone's beloved spot lol. *Note to self: wait for the waitress to sit us, then that would be our spot from now on!* I'm not a fan of breakfast food or eating breakfast in general, but we've been living the vampire life so technically we've been coming here for our super super late dinner right before bed! He loves some good breakfast and has been trying different things every time to try it out. The only complaint he has so far is "That's a lot of food!" I'm so glad they serve the full menu all day, and not just lunch during lunch time. You can't go wrong with their burger. 1/2lb of juicy, great flavor patty, with their awesome buns! I would devour the whole burger if I could actually hold it up properly, but I swear, the whole darn thing is bigger than my face, and I'm still trying to get that 6pack I've been working on for 3+ years now. Just half the bun should do the trick. The lie I keep telling myself. Everything we have tried here are fantastic! Huge portion, great flavor, pretty cheap for all that food, and the service is on point. Let me tell you,, talk about GREAT. Of course the food was as expected. PERFECT. But, now knowing we have a person to ask for when Tonya is off.
