I want to say that I'm all fat and happy right now. I relocate to the dfw area over a year ago as so did my girlfriend. We have recenlty moved to the Mansfield / arlington area and we have been looking for our breakfast place and we just found it!!! I had the chicken fried steak, eggs over easy, hash brown with side of pancakes. My girlfriend had french toast special , eggs over easy with sausage . We had a side of biscuits and gravy. Holy cow was all of it great!! The Chicken fried steak was great, it was just like my mothers, tenderized , battered just right not to much like alot of places. The gravy was great , was not like water had real pieces of sausage, it was creamy and the bicuits were awesome. the had home made pies all over the place, we did not get any because by the time we left we had to squeeze our way out of the doors. The french toast and pancake worth having again. All in all I will recommend this place to anyone who can read this review. I do recommend you get there early. read more

Great example of a home cooked meal. The portions are huge! This is our go to place for breakfast on the weekends. They have a lot of options and I can't think of anything I've gotten that is less than great. The pancakes are large and fluffy and the Belgian waffle is sized to match The lunch is delicious too and always comes with rolls/cornbread and the soup of the day. I've tried most of The lunch menu and I keep coming back for the open faced beef. The amount of food you get for the price is great. We've been here numerous times & have ordered take-outs multiple times since our 7-month old baby was born. Food is great, highly recommend. Everyone is friendly & accomodating, EXCEPT this one guy who is supposedly the manager. He gave me a hard time about ordering smothered breaded pork chop on a different day than Friday, which we have done numerous times without problem. He offered NO resolution when I called about missing side salad from an entree & the wrong item. Whoever he is, he the WORST thing about this place. read more

I took my boys here on a friday around 1 and it was packed! i think we waited about 20 minutes. Which we did not mind bc the man in the front (im guessing he is the owner? or manager?) was such a sweetheart. even tho we had to wait, he made us feel welcomed. we had the chicken fried steak, and it was GREAT! exactly what i look for in a ck fried steak! I also finished with their coconut cream pie which i couldnt finish, but was happy to bring home. it was good! i am so excited that there's actually a restaurant in Mansfield that is GOOD, and i dont have to drive to Dallas to eat. I've been coming to Texas for 15 years to visit family. We have had some amazing breakfasts at many places. This isn't one of them. Besides the wait, 1 hour and 45 minutes from arriving to getting our food, the service and food were horrible. Our waitress barely checked in on us, our food was cold and we were made to feel like a nuisance rather than valued customers. We will not be coming back or recommending it to others. read more

Arrived 9:45 Sunday morning, already a wait. Attentive service, awesome breakfast. Real homemade corned beef hash was scrumptious, mixed with hash browns. Wow! I did not expect this restaurant to be as good as it is. Don't get me wrong, it's not like the food is gormet or five star, but it's the closest thing to a home cooked breakfast I've ever had. I recommend the vegetarian omelett. Not only do you get an outstanding omelett, you also get your choice of two sides. You will be very full after eating at this restaurant, I guarantee. By the way, they make so many other dishes that really makes this place a great place for groups. Only draw back is that they are not open that long, so don't miss out and wait too long. I honestly don't know how this place could ever get less than 5 stars. Food is home cooking but amazing. Best omelet I have ever met, better corn bread than mom's (sorry mom) and the pies were too good to describe. This was so good I'm updating it the next day. I go here a lot for Sunday brunch .... the only downside is there is usually a wait to be seated, but that's because the food and service is so great. The staff is friendly despite being constantly slammed and running all over the place, and I've never had a bad meal here. Large variety of menu items, standard American stick to your ribs type food. This is the place to go for breakfast or lunch in Mansfield. Food is always great and service is wonderful. The only thing I hate is the parking and the waiting. I learn to only eat at our place on my day off, because I will never get back to work on time. When ever I'm there, it was always nice to bring home a wonderful fruit pie for later. read more

Stopped in for breakfast because our hotel wasn't serving breakfast (because of the 'rona). We got seated quickly, got our food quickly, and the food was great. I found this place when I was working in Ft worth and even though I don't live in the area any more, I always seem to find the time to come down here whenever we're anywhere close to town. I ordered the beef stroganoff today and was terribly disappointed. It was more like pot roast answer waaaaay over salted. Nothing like the beef stroganoff I know. The egg noodles were waaaaay over cooked. I have enjoyed the breakfast I've ordered before, but I won't order from the lunch menu again. The corn was gummy and the okra wasn't crisp. Great home cooking. Must admit I haven't tried breakfast there despite numerous visits. I am the type who tries the country fried steak or country fried chicken everywhere I go a few times and use that as a basis of comparison. Kinda like Johnny Depp in Once upon a time in Mexico - except I don't shoot the cook when I'm done eating. The batter is pretty heavy and thick, one time was super salty, and honestly not the largest meat cut under it - but it is done extremely well. I love the cup of soup of the day that comes complimentary with the special. I've noticed if you get there too late though it may be out. :( I am lately in love with the jalepeno porkchops. Very awesome. I've been testing some of my own at home - but theirs is really awesome. I don't think there's a desert there you can go wrong with. great wait staff too. It is a bit noisy so not really a place to take a business meeting - but I have taken people from out of town that want good old cookin and they have all loved it.
