We bought a home with a solar system installed by Our World Energy, which offers a 25 year warranty. During the buying process I called the company on numerous occasions to confirm that the remainder of the warranty (appx. 22 years) would transfer to us the buyers. Each time we were reassured that it would. They only thing the company required before the transfer is for the remaining loan to be paid off by seller and they would require a three way call between company, seller and buyer to confirm the transfer. This transfer process was confirmed multiple times via phone by the seller and buyer. Escrow closed and the loan was fully paid off. The three way call took place just like they required. We were told the warranty would be transferred into our names and we would receive documentation stating we were now the owners of the system. We did everything they required of us. Here we are over three weeks later and no paperwork stating the warranty is in our names. When I call we are told that a salesperson needs to sign off on the warranty transfer. This is a new requirement they never made us aware of in our original conversations. Next we were told they were escalating it to a higher department to get this signature. Now it feels like they are screening my calls. When I called from a different number they returned my call but stated they were still trying to get a salesperson's signature before the transfer can be complete. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau, and will continue to look into options available to me, to ensure the warranty is transferred over into my name. read more

On October 9, 2024 we signed a contract with Our World Energy (OWE) to install a residential solar system. They were recommended by a friend, and my next door neighbor who had signed a contract with them just a few weeks earlier. Solar panels,went up approximately one month later, along with the Tesla Powerwall 3, and the electrical wiring. We were cruising. Then things got bad. We experienced several delays for reasons that were not fully (or accurately) explained to us. The panels sat on our roof for a full 18weeks. We had paid OWE 60% of the system cost with no start-up date in sight. Their coordination with local building inspectors was horrible, almost adversarial, which caused further delays. To add the last bit of insult to the process, after we received our "permission to operate" from APS, the system would not start up. They said they had to send a tech out to get it going, which they said would take another 9 days. So after the panels were up it took 4 1/2 months for them to complete the project. It was delay after delay with these guys, and our project coordinator seemed more in the dark than they left us. A very frustrating experience. I'm afraid we cannot recommend them and the two stars is probably more than OWE should get. read more

She always answered my questions or or got the answers for me to the things she didn't know off hand. She was very kind at all times at all times and professional. They literally lied to our faces about the solar credit, even though I asked them specific questions about the cost and how it would work when it was time to do our taxes. They said we would get the money upfront NOT over the years all we had to do was pay it back so our monthly fee wouldn't go up. That was a HUGE lie!!!When it was time to prepare our taxes we found out nothing they had said was true. They provide you with false information just to get your business. My electricity issues are STILL the same since your company installed this equipment - turned on in January 2025 after MANY delays and still NOT fixed. We will not have another 'roofing technician' come and replace the tiles OWE broke because the first one couldn't either. I am posting this so any customers that purchase solar from Our World Energy know they pay their employees unfairly or not at all for doing hard work on your home. They don't provide the safety equipment OSHA demands and this makes for poor quality of workmanship when they are afraid of falling off the roof and risk not going home to their family. Know they will have a team go out to install yet if they don't finish they give it to another team and the first team can't go back to finish therefore they aren't getting paid for what they worked or accomplished. Does this company even exist anymore. I started the process in Spring 2022 and barely got thing up and running this spring. I can't get in touch with anyone in the company about the financing so that I can get the rebates that I was promised. They took forever to get things fixed and running and then cleaned up. I have called every number available. Customer service is definitely not the name of the game here. Edit - while calling the main number got me no where (and I did, multiple times), I finally found a human to speak with who is finally supposed to send me the documentation sometime today after months of my electric company emailing to request it. The human who solved my problem is Ahmed Aldarraji, the inspection's manager. Long story short, outsourcing customer service is a baaaad idea. At least the guys on the ground can help if you can get their number. read more

Bad to worse. The update here is that, in addition to all of the issues outlined in the original review, I just recently learned that OWE incorrectly submitted the battery application to my energy provider, meaning that my installation was not eligible for an incentive program being offered by the provider that would have amounted to thousands of dollars being sent by the energy company. I sent a number of emails to various points of contact at OWE, largely getting the run around and being directed to different people that were supposedly working to resolve the issue. The current response from OWE is that because my application was submitted incorrectly, my account "is not eligible for the battery program" and that "we do not have the option to proceed with the rebate." Do yourself a favor and find another company to work with if you are looking for battery or solar installations in the Denver area. read more

UPDATE: We are now told we have to have recorded proof of our conversation with said salesman, Karl. Obviously we don't have that. Who records conversations like that with a salesman? Apparently it is his word vs ours, and guess who wins? Not us. Salesman knocked on the door when I wasn't home. My husband and I are seniors. The guy, Karl was a smooth talker. He told us the cost would be around $80 a month, depending on the number of panels, etc. His partner, Allen, pulled up a contract on my husband's computer, and without explaining ANYTHING had my husband sign all the pages. We were NOT told: 1. We had 7 days to review the contract. 2. The monthly payment was now $148, with a 2% increase every month. 3. The contract was 25yrs. 4. Upon death of either of us, the amount of almost $60,000 would be taken from the estate. 5. No plan for placement of panels was ever shown or discussed with us. 6. The panels look hideous on our roof. 7. We are now in debt for $60,000 for something we don't own. He must have had the contract all written before he came knocking. So he KNEW the monthly amount, and still lied. We have tried discussing this with him (Karl), to no avail. We were deceived, misled, and lied to. Had my husband been informed of all the beforehand things mentioned, he would not have signed the contract . I want the panels taken off my roof and the contract cancelled due to deceptive practices. Deceptive sales tactics....stay away. They don't emphasize that you are forever LEASING the solar panels, with no option to purchase them so you can't claim the tax credit (because they are!!). When you contact them to complain they blame the finance company saying "they're just the installers", even though the rep makes you believe both companies are affiliated. My system has been installed and finally up and running. I was promised I would receive a check in approximately the amount of $1,700 as soon as installation was completed and approved. Several months now- was told check was mailed- never received/ my salesman said be called the place where the check was sent from- they said they would cancel that one and resend another one- that was approximately 3 weeks ago- I was told by my salesman I wold receive by end of year- no check yet/ have been texting and calling my salesman- he finally responded to me yesterday saying no-one in office/ I will have to wait until Monday 1/6/25 for him to look into this, Sounds "fishy" to me. I was sold a solar system through Your Power Connection who represented Sunnova and Our World Energy. I signed a contract, at a set price for 25 years with Sunnova. The project was a disaster from Day 1 - the plans were wrong, the layout was wrong, the equipment was missing, I was promised that the installation would cover 60% of our electric usage and they missed several hookups so it ended up not being able to supply what they originally promised, the placement of the equipment changed without notice and they ruined the aesthetics of one of our buildings - that's for starters. Six months later the salesman from Your Power Connection comes out with a new contract saying that the original provider (Sunnova) is no longer supplying the system and gives me a new contract to sign which is $25K over the cost of the original contract. So now, 9 months later I have all this ugly equipment on my roof (which now leaks) and on the sides of my buildings and Your Power Connection is nowhere to be found as my sales representative says he's not responsible. We've been passed off to Our World Energy and for months I've been trying to either get a new contract at the same price or have them come and remove their equipment. Our World Energy has sent me several emails saying they're working on resolving the issue but it's been 2 months and I have no answer, just an unfinished solar system and no contract outlining the amount, warranties or guarantees. We have wanted solar for 25 years and thought this was the perfect solution but the salesman from Your Power Connection sold us a bill of goods that he never delivered and then left us high and dry and passed us off to Our World Energy who has nothing to help. 8/18/22 - FINALLY turned on and running. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. When their representative came for the final inspection/activation with an SRP representative he couldn't answer any questions because he was so new he didn't know anything. You have to learn but why was he alone?!? SRP said the system can turn it on but ideally we would need to have OWE swap out one of thing but after hearing our nightmare story he activated it as is. As I said before - save yourself and find a company with actual customer service skills!! read more

I could possibly give a higher rating but we have yet to have a working system. NO ONE EVER ANSWERS the customer service line. No responds to texts. No one responds to emails. The panels have been on our roof for three weeks. They no showed to the appointment with our electric company for final hook up. Had to wait another week for that to happen. Left without explaining anything. Said we'd get an email that never came. If this is part of the process, find, but NO ONE RESPONDS or tells us what is going on!! I just want to talk to someone!! Edit: Caleb, I did know that. Problem is, she doesn't answer her direct line either, nor does she respond to texts or emails. Yes, she reached out today, AFTER I left this review, a not-nice message on her line, on the customer service line, and on the customer service text. Unless you ensure that your project managers are actually responding to clients, seems like a poor system to only have ONE person a client can reach out to. This place is a joke. It's going on 1 year to get my install done. Either they don't have parts or their employee calls off and pushes job for months. Do not use them. It is not worth the headache. It seems like it's their first job. I have to hunt them down for updates. They have been back to my house 6 times now and still don't have all the parts to complete the project. They also damaged stucco on my house. I don't know how these guys stay in business. I've learned my lesson. I'm about to consult an attorney to see what my options are.
