Have not been to Outback in a while. Decided to go for my birthday on October 8th. I ordered the Alice Springs chicken, my husband a top sirloin steak. He ordered it medium and it came out extremely rare. My chicken seemed like it was a day old, put in a microwave with cheese. Hold the salt please! Until then, I'm holding back on awarding review stars. Most restaurants have a heavy hand with salt compared to what I'm used to at home (none), but I've never seen a WHITE baked potato. In addition to its potato skin, it also had a crusted layer of salt crystals. I had to ask for another one because I didn't want a side of potato with my salt. I simply wanted a potato. But wait, asking for another became a challenge in itself. My hubby and I couldn't seem to catch the eye of our waitress. We tried multiple tricks, the heavy stare, downing our drinks, the slurping sound of a straw coming up empty, the gentle wave, but only time could make her find her way back to us. By then, I had nearly finished my steak. My new potato came salt free, and it was beautiful. My hubby waited patiently for me to finish since it took so long to arrive. We were doing an early birthday celebration dinner, so we were in good spirits. July 3rd and fireworks were going to begin at 9. We got here at 4:45 to get parking with a view. This establishment was preparing their front parking lot into outdoor seating. Keep in mind this is North Texas, heat index near 107, broiling sun, setting up tables and chairs on a paved parking lot you could burn bacon upon Would you believe they asked me indoors or outdoors?? So we moved to our table near the stronger A/C duct ( they claimed on the North side). I ordered my usual 12oz prime rib with an extra au jus. We also asked for more bread. My friend and I left work early and decided to have lunch at Outback Steakhouse. I usually dined alone once a month here at this location (pre-pandemic). Haven't been back since February 2020. The menu has changed and some items are no longer available (prime rib, chopped wedge salad). However, the highlight of this meal goes to our server, JOSH K. Josh is pleasant, funny, hospitable, attentive without being obnoxious. When Josh saw my disappointment ref the chopped wedge salad being permanently deleted from the menu, he quickly suggested an alternative for the chef to create. Moments later he appeared with the modified salad complete with the balsamic glaze and immediately my mouth was in 7th heaven! This young man is quick on his feet. Great wit, humor and a passion for what he does. Overall, JOSH is a consummate professional! We will definitely ask for him the next time we dine here! read more

OMGosh, it's been forever since my last visit, surprisingly so because this is one of my favorite spots in my area. Due to a recent thread about salads, wedge salads were a topic of conversation, and that reminded me of the great one @ Outback. So off I go for a repeat performance of this dish. It was @ the end of the lunch rush, so I headed to my usual place, a comfy booth. Greeted by a friendly Cheryl (think that was her name??) who took my drink order for a glass of Pinot Grigio. Wine and that delicious warm bread were promptly delivered. I took a few minutes to decide what I wanted besides the Wedge Salad. I was sad to learn that OB had discontinued their creamy onion soup, my favorite, but finally opted for a bowl of baked potato soup as I wasn't that hungry for a huge entree. I had a small slice of that wonderful bread with butter with my first sips of the ice cold wine. Used restraint as I didn't want to fill up on this excellent start to my meal. It would definitely travel well on the way home! I had asked that the salad and soup come out together, and indeed they did very quickly. The salad was as scrumptious as I remembered from many years ago; very fresh cold iceberg lettuce (an enormous wedge), chopped bacon, cherry tomatoes, red onion, chunks of blue cheese, w/the creamiest blue cheese dressing drizzled on top, of which I had asked to have extra. My craving was completely satisfied. Enough left to take home and finish munching on later. The baked potato soup was like smooth satin, thick with cheddar & white cheese, green onions, & bacon bits; should have ordered a cup but that's okay, it also traveled well for another day. Absolutely delicious, I'd order this again. Service was exemplary, attentive and most pleasant. My leftovers were quickly packed up, placed in their nice large paper bags and check delivered. We ordered the seared prime rib, and I ordered mine medium. Which, that has pink. Well, when we received my cut of prime rib, not only was it waaaay over done, but it was SOMEONE ELSES MEAT THAT WAS RETURNED. Sooooo, I got someone else's cut if prime rib that was sent back to be cooked more. So, the manager comes over and asks us if we want a to-go box and I said, I haven't even gotten my steak, it was someone else's steak. He was all "oh. I don't know how that happened. Sorry about that" I said, it's gross. So after I get a new piece of meat, my husband had more than half of fat that was inedible. I had been to Outback in Hurst several times and today I payed this location a visit with my girls. The server was very nice. The blooming onion was delicious, but we ordered 1. Chicken fingers, fries and a lemonade for my toddler. The tenders were stiff as a rock! She didn't eat them. 2. My teenage girl ordered a 6 OZ sirloin, fries and salad. She ate the fries. 3. I ordered the steak, mashed potatoes and fries. I ate my fries and left everything else. When it was time to pay $51 and some cents for us to go and eat fries. Had a great dinner here for an anniversary. Staff was very attentive and personal, which was great. We started with the little fried onion bites (forgot the actual name), and they were ok.. it was my least favorite part of the meal. I wasn't a fan of the sauce, it was a little spicy. The rest of the meal was fantastic. We both had the $15.99 steak and lobster which is a STEAL. Steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection and lobster was a good size (i was expecting smaller). We made the mistake of getting hungry on a Friday night with no dinner plans and after calling a couple restaurants around Belt Line and getting the "no we're not accepting reservations, but the wait time for the line is 1h45m" response, we finally heard what sounded like the heavens opening from Outback: "there's no wait." So, we decided "well heck, let's give Outback a go!" and hustled over. And they were right: No wait! Score!! Our server Cory was awesome. Even though it stormed in the Dallas area yesterday my friends and I were not going to miss an opportunity to dine at one of our favorite restaurants. We started with a perfectly seasoned bloomin' onion. It was delicious. I also had coconut shrimp. They were fried to perfection. I had a house salad with balsamic vinagrette dressing. My entree was the 6 ounce steak and lobster. My steak was a little tough because i ordered it well done. I didn't mind because it tasted good. My lobster and mashed potatoes were very good.
