Well why I don't have an Outback review baffles me since we have been going there for probably 20 years. I've always thought their petite filet was always a solid choice. The gamble has been if the steak is cooked to perfection which could be hit or miss. Tonight was a hit with a nice blooming onion and the 6oz. Filet accompanied by a lobster tail for the entree. My wife order the same meal and both of us were delighted and our server, Ms. Sarah made the experience that much better. Great meal! read more

First off the service was fantastic! Our waitress was on top of everything without having to ask for refills or boxes. Now the main star is the food! I personally got the 6 oz sirloin with Alice Springs Chicken. The steak was a perfect medium rare and the chicken was so juicy I was so shocked! The Delmonico my husband got was good but not as flavorful as the sirloin shockingly. The bloomin onion is a staple for a reason and always a must have! Dined at your Bel air, MD location last night. We haven't been there since my child had a roach in her pasta many years ago. So last night my sister in law suggested we go there for her birthday. First she has cancer and has trouble walking. There were only 3 handicap spots that were already taken. However, call ahead spots were plentiful. Crazy. All those spots were empty. You really should add additional handicap spots. Then we get inside and could hardly read the menus because it was very dark. Why. Why so dark? Food was average. The bloomin onion was so greasy we didn't hardly eat it. Service was good. But our experience was less than satisfactory! There's something to be said about Texas Roadhouse and why we frequently dine there. read more

We made a reservation for 5:30 PM for 5 people and requested a table - not a booth - to celebrate our son's birthday with his children/our grandchildren. Imagine our disappointment to see when we arrived to find them seated in a booth. They had already been served water and bread, so we stayed there. The server came over to ask us what we wanted to drink. She never introduced herself. We only wanted water, which she did bring promptly. We told her we were there to celebrate our son's 51st birthday. She even commented on his birthday card. There were several menus on the table already. We told her several times we were there for the $14.99 Aussie Special; yet when we each went to order she kept asking what special we were ordering - it became quite annoying. When I asked what the sides were, she told me they were in the main menu and gave me the menu and told me to look at them. As the print was too small for me, I asked her to tell me what the sides were. She seemed rather put out with my request. I ordered the House salad with Blue Cheese dressing and the Gold Coast Coconut Shrimp with a Sweet Potato as my side. Four in our party ordered the Bloomin Burger with fries, three had the Caesar salad to start, my husband had the Blue Cheese Pecan Chopped Salad to start, which had an upcharge. All said the Ceasar salads were very salty. My husband's and my salad were very crisp, fresh and good. All of their burgers were overcooked. My husband felt that the burgers were not made from fresh ground beef but were frozen patties. There were 8 large coconut shrimp that were hand-dipped in batter, rolled in coconut and fried golden and served with Creole marmalade. I thoroughly enjoyed my choice. At one point during the meal while clearing the salad plate, the server dropped the plate and hit my husband on the elbow and some of the residue fell out of the bowl. Fortunately, very little of the salad residue fell on my husband's pants - most of it fell on the bench and the floor. She did apologize; however, she did not wipe off the table or bother to look and see that it also fell on the bench. We had to clean off the table and the bench. Another problem, my husband had to ask her twice for water. When the bus boy finally brought water, he brought 5 new waters for the whole table - what a waste and not what was asked for. The $14.99 meal came with Cheesecake for dessert, which we all took home. To finish off a not-so-great evening, we had to use a mobile payment device that was sticky. After entering our credit card information, it prompted us to take a survey, which we were glad to complete but wonder how often do they clean these machines. read more

Our family went for dinner Sunday night. We like to go here because they have something for everyone. We had a reservation so we were sat immediately. Our waitress was excellent and very helpful. Our family stopped in for the steak dinner. We got seated quickly in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen. Everyone was screaming corner every minute. Our waiter was present and friendly. The table ordered the blooming onion, which I wasn't too crazy about. But I hear it's a crowd favorite. It just was a little too much for me. I ordered one thing but my food came out wrong, which was fine because it was still good, and they didn't up charge us for it or down charge us either. I had a side of potato soup which was so good. Also they made their broccoli side to perfection. I had the chicken which I am not crazy about. Everyone else at our table had the steak, and chicken parm and steak with lobster. They all really enjoyed what they had. The steak was cooked perfectly and it wasn't hard or chewy. Everyone was pleased. And it was not a loud place either. read more

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill since Red Lobster is no longer across the street, lessening their competition. The staff is friendly , however our server Zach was more interested in the football game than serving his tables. There were only 2 of us and we waited 10 mins for him to even come over. He took our drink orders and a runner brought them out. Another person brought the bread. We hadn't even been able to order apps yet. Zach then came over and took our app order, we were ready to order dinner but he didn't want that order yet. This was 4:30 on a Saturday night so it wasn't that busy and the kitchen didn't appear to be backed up. It took another 15 mins, our app was brought out by yet another runner, we finished eating the app (Mac and cheese balls, amazing!) and then we had to catch him and ask HIM if we could place our dinner order. We've never had that happen before. And other tables around us were making comments as well as to where he was. My husband said he sees him standing in the corner, watching TV. Unacceptable. The food was amazing, and like I said staff were friendly but perhaps the server training needs to be looked at for review. read more

We were seated quickly with our reservation. We even came a very minutes early. Tables are very nice. Server was amazing THANK YOU Spencer !!! Appetizers came out extremely fast. One thing I have a bone to pick with is the strange Australian names for food. The Boomerang gives me no context on what the meal is. The chili was good, but the meat in it was eh. Very fatty. Definitely should have written this review at that point when ALL of my thoughts were passing every insight check. My beige food loving youngest eats steak here as well as broccoli, and my husband usually finds something on the wine menu that he likes without complaint. Outback Steak House is Out Front of the Competition My wife and I had dinner tonight at the Outback Steak House in Bel Air Maryland. I want to give them a big shout out for everything they did and more importantly, how they do, what they do. First a huge shout out goes to Kelsey (Chelsea is her real name, inside joke) for her attentiveness and patience, especially when my wife was slow to decide the type of burger she wanted. Secondly, a funny shout out to the manager Patrick, for his warm smile and quick wit. He had the both of us cracking up, in stitches, no lie. He told us to mispronounce Chelsea's name as a joke and she didn't flinch! Thirdly, an appreciative shout out to the staff that did the "little things" like a well-oiled machine. Specifically, a courteous shout out to the folks that: * brought the drinks to the table, they were like silent ninjas, quick and efficient * brought entrées to the table, they were like skilled craftsmen, confident yet courteous * cleared the table continuously, they were fast but not furious This is a well-deserved review because the service was FLAWLESS. My wife, daughter and I came here on 12/30 around 7:30pm for dinner. The restaurant was was not busy at all when we arrived. Our order consisted of 2 Cokes and a Sweet Tea for beverages, Boomerang Mozzarella Sticks for an appetizer, a childs cheeseburger w/fries, Teriyaki Filet Skewers cooked Medium w/Rice & Broccoli and a 6oz. Sirloin cooked Medium Well w/Sweet Potato and Vegetables for our entrees. Our server was extremely slow, never checked on our food to see if it was cooked correctly, never offered refills and was constantly seen talking with other employees while on her phone. The cheeseburger was barely cooked to a Medium temperature which caused my daughter to not eat it, the Sirloin steak was charred and overcooked, causing most of it to be thrown away and the Skewers were undercooked and full of gristle. The rice was bland (consistency of a 90 second bag of Minute Rice) and the sauce was so salty that it made the entire dish barely edible. Best part of the entree was the broccoli. This restaurants food and service has been extremely bad our last 3 visits. Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse would have been a much better option, but my wife wanted to go here. An absolute waste of $75. The manager of this establishment should be ashamed of themselves, but I seriously doubt they care what a paying customer thinks or says. Returning to this location is highly unlikely after this last experience. read more

I'm not sure who actually reads these, but there was a person today at the Bel Air Outback that went above and beyond. I was there just to pickup the Veterans Day Bloomin' Onion. When the person handling take-out heard that my father-in-law was coming home for hospice care and I was just grabbing food to take care of my family for the day, he showed an extreme amount of kindness. The bread is always a must. Tried the new steak and cheese dish it was super cheesy with the Gouda peppers and onions. They had a new chicken fried dish and honestly it tasted like they're spin on Popeyes chicken sandwich yet this one is waaaayy juicier here and I like the sauce the Mac is definitely worth paying extra for. Is it weird I feel a little "off" recommending a chain restaurant? Idk, but here we go... Look. I like steak. Steak is good. And no, you are not going to go to Outback for the thickest cut or a mind blowing meal. But, you will get consistency. The blooming onion is classic, and it holds up. Order it, put it in the middle of the table and watch any hesitant guests reach for a pedal, and a second... Steaks are cooked well and reliable. Chicken dishes are good. Salads are good. Beers are cold. And they have a few delectable desserts too. It's not my first choice for dining out, and if I wanna killer steak I make it myself. But, if you find yourself looking for a steak dinner, better to go here and know you'll get a decent meal than waste your money on a lesser competitor. Just had lunch at Outback Steakhouse in Bel Air with 4 other friends. Not only was the food very good, restaurant was clean, waters and waitresses congenial, but our waiter, Tanner, was exceptional. He was an excellent waiter, polite, patient (we're 5 old ladies), made sure we all were satisfied with our orders, promptly attend to our requests and needs, cheerful and personable. I had the sirloin/lobster combo. The steak was full of fat and the the lobster was rubbery. Even the baked notation was nasty and like warm. The butter on the potato didn't even melt.
