We have always enjoyed the Outback until recently it has gotten much worse. My wife got "a pound" of crab legs that wasn't even a pound. The waiter just smiled when i ask him about it. My steak, which i got medium was burnt and tough. The worst part is, they don't seem to care when you try to fix the problem. This used to be a great place to eat, however the last two meals has convinced me to go else where for a good steak. I took my mother there for a belated Mother's Day celebration, the Tuesday afterwards. We usually order the prime rib. But when we ordered it there was no mention that they were out of it. We sat had a drink ate our salads and appetizer. Then we were told we couldn't get what we ordered. They apologized and offered us anything else. But this was the second time this has happened to us. Tell me ahead of time and I'll go somewhere else. Don't wait until we were ready to eat our entrees. The manager was good about it, but that isn't the point. It was 6:30PM on a Tuesday. A group of 4 of us came in on a very busy Friday night for a friends birthday. We sat at a booth by the bar and had Lawrence as our waiter. He was, by far, the best server I've had anywhere in a really long time. He was efficient, had a great personality and even brought out our cake we had dropped off earlier in the day. Overall a good experience. It was a busy night but we were able to locate a table at the bar quickly. Food seemed above average compared to other Outback locations. My favorite time to visit Outback is lunchtime. I enjoy sitting in the bar area because it usually is badly-behaving child free. The servers in the bar area always are pleasant and attentive. I love the Outback sirloin dinner. My steak arrives perfectly prepared every time. You can choose the size of steak that fits your appetite- 6, 9, or 12 oz. The baked potatoes are fluffy and hot. The house salad comes out crisp and cold. While the desserts look good, I never can find room to enjoy one! Maybe one day ... Loved the server, Richard H. He has waited on us before, and did another excellent job. Our drinks stayed full, the dinner pace was excellent, he was there when we needed him. We didn't have to wait to settle the check. Excellent server and service! The food was excellent, as usual. I must give a shout out to the cleanliness of the dining room. It is January and many people are sick with colds. The staff was using a bleach solution to clean the tables in the dining room. I use it to clean and keep colds to a minimum in my home. I could smell the bleach in the solution they were using to clean the tables. Thank you management, for helping to keep people healthy and for doing what you can to not spread germs when so many people are sick! Saturday nights are your enemy. But, that's no reason not to come in for a Victoria filet and a cold Sam Adams! The wait was a little lengthy and the lobby area was packed with people. I would say that they have a great flavor to their steaks, and a nice juicy, and smoky taste as well. I have a little bit of a 'not so well' experience with their service, it took about thirty-forty-five minutes for our appetizer to come out. I am saddened to write this but feel that maybe the ownership will finally get a manager that can run the place during peak hours. If you go off peak the review is totally different. First forget being handicap in this place. They squeeze the tables so close you are never getting by. Next it took 30 minutes to get a blooming onion that was on a plate so hot it would burn your hand. Obviously under the lights so long that it was mush. Waiter apologized about 50 times all night. Entire dinner took 2 hours to get and we had to beg for our check. I was served my steak raw with no sides, because we are "redoing them since they were not perfect". ???????? Well hell check this raw piece of meat with you. After hubs and I finally got our meal it was the same raw food that they gave us to start, just MICROWAVEDDDDDDDDDD. Ever ate microwaved vegetables after they've sat around. Shoe leather....errrrrr. The best part of the meal came when they brought me new broccoli that was steamed and tasted great on the first bite. Then I realized, to my horror, that bite was NOT gluten free. OH DEAR GOD....yep....I was home taking meds trying to stop the pain within an hour of eating. If I could give this outback zero stars I would, I've never had a good experience here. Went here with my girlfriend two days ago and ordered two drinks and a bloomin' onion, and asked the waiter to give us a couple minutes to decide on what we wanted. He must have taken that as leave us alone for about 50 minutes because we never saw him again. Our onion came out and we ate...still no sign of our waiter. Then finally after about 50 minutes he comes by and takes our menus. I inform him we have yet to order, he then says ok and stands there as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. I told him about his lack of waiting and then told him we would just like the check please. The bill comes out and it's 8.70 and I give him a 20 and he brings me back 12 I said this isn't the right amount of change. He tells me they don't give back "coin change" then tells me "don't worry about it". Thanks pal 70 cents off of the worst experience I've ever had out to eat. Bel Air, MD Outback Steakhouse- Our server Stephen T was an absolute jerk. From the moment I sat down, which was a few minutes after my family had already gotten there- he was a smart ass, rushing us and an intolerable jerk. He asked if we were ready, I said no we'll need a few minutes. The second time around he said with a tone and attitude 'are you ready NOW? We gave him our appetizer order. Then when placing my order he was being a smart ass about what I was ordering. By the end of the meal I was just done with his snarky tone and comments. He asked if we were having any dessert and we said no- and again with a tone said "I guess I'll leave THIS here since you're not getting anything..." We paid the bill through the online app and left, only to be followed outside by him yelling out "Hey!!! Did you pay for the food?!" Perhaps he should have been more aware and have checked before hunting us down in the parking lot, saying we didn't pay the bill. Clearly there's a problem with this server. If anyone has walked out on this guy and not paid, it's probably because of his bad service. Outback- do better! We're never going to this place again and he should be let go! Family went 07/04/2017- Air must have been on 0 degrees- very cold. The waiter had it turned up but still too cold. My daughter and I ordered 1/2 rack baby back ribs that was burned and not a 1/2 rack. They gladly changed and apologized but because of the coldness, food became cold quickly and we took it to go. Ribs had a burned taste and we really could not eat them. Granddaughter burger was fine, drinks good, and staff wonderful. Just too cold for dinner. Waiter also said others complained. This restaurant has steadily gone down hill fast. The service is horrendous, the food mediocre at best even the bottle beer is served warm. Family took my daughter out for her birthday and the waitress never said hello thank you or please during the entire dinner. Very attitudish and apparently disgruntled. This used to be my favorite place to eat but it seems as though it has gone downhill the last couple of years. The food seems tired and uninteresting. We recently got the Alice Springs Chicken sub and it was awful with an overwhelming mushroom flavor. The steak quesadilla has potential but the meat was chewy. Went to Outback Steakhouse in Bel Air MD midweek for lunch. Our group of 4 people ordered two prime rib sandwiches, steak salad and chicken sandwich. The prime rib sandwiches were pretty tasteless and hardly had any meat or grilled onions. The au jus was also too salty. The steak salad came with only 4 small pieces of meat and missing the toasted pecans. The only decent food was the chicken sandwich (in a steakhouse!). We mentioned this to the waiter who only apologized but only brought the toasted pecans missing from the salad order. We won't return to Outback. Waste of money. read more
