Let me start by saying I like Outback. Do I know it is not a steakhouse and is really a chain?? Yes. Do I know that it serves a decent steak, salmon, and shrimp and they taste good?? Yes. Do they have an app on the iPhone that allows me to order it while I am at a rest stop so the order cooks while I am driving to the hotel so I can use curbside takeaway?? Why yes, yes I do. "The Good" - The winner this evening was an Outback Special and Grilled Shrimp with Fresh Veggies and a Sweet Potato. - You get a free loaf of the Pumpernickel bread with the order, so if you are not going to eat it, let them know so it does not go to waste. - Curbside Takeaway is one of the greatest ideas known to mankind, I just have to figure out what type of rental car I am in. - Fresh Horseradish. Now this is huge. Do you know that taste/smell of the horseradish bottle when you first open it?? Well, it always tastes like that when you order a side of horseradish. Some places have the creamy style as well, but the fresh is much better in my opinion. If you are crying a little bit... then its fresh. - The iPhone app is 99% awesome, they just need to fix the checkout portion. - At the curbside takeaway, they offer to put the bag in the backseat, so you do not have to perform a balancing act trying to get it to the passenger seat. "The Meh" - In regards to getting things to go. You need to know that it may get cold, it is a take out box with no separations so the shrimp may touch the steak and that may touch the sweet potato that is wrapped in aluminum foil. If you are not ready to perform a little prep work to get things to serving level, go inside and sit at the bar. If you feel like watching Survivor instead of Northern North Dakota State Tech take on The Rhode Island Ruskies in a Pre-March Madness elimination Tourney get it to go. "The Bad" - The iPhone app, hey guilty by association people, does not let you easily add silverware to the order or a drink if you choose to, it takes you back to the beginning of the check out process. We went to Outback on. Tuesday night. We hit the jackpot with the best waiter! Tyler H was very attentive. Our orders were correct our food was fast our drinks stayed filled. We can be a little needy with things like extra sauce, extra salad dressings, crispy fries etc. Tyler made sure every but if our order was correct down to extra sauce and salad dressing. Next time you stop in at Outback in Burlington ask for Tyler he will take great care of you. read more

Food poisoning! Not on the menu but it is what I got 24 hrs. after eating a side salad and baked potato (I think the salad was the culprit). My partner and I make a point of not eating at chain restaurants, but we were heading east on I-40 and ran into a huge thunderstorm and we needed to pull off the road and originally stopped at an old diner but it was after 9 and they were closed. We were interested in hooking into wi-fi and thought Outback would have free wi-fi, so that is why we went there (no wi-fi service). I had no idea that a harmless salad and potato would hurt me....but I was wrong. I have filled out a form to report the illness and will call this location and tell them what happened to me. I feel that everyone should report food illness and avoid eating at chain restaurants. Guess next time we will park under an overpass and just wait for the storm to pass. read more

I'm very disappointed in an order that was picked up at 7:00m today, order number 44406430. The Alice springs quesadilla hardly had any chicken in them they should've been called cheese quesadillas and priced that way. The host gave us the managers name the moment we sat down Also we did call ahead seating but had to wait a little bit. This place is placed between two hotels which is probably why they're busy. The food isn't that good, small portions, poor waitstaff, and old lettuce on salads, I would not recommend this place. Go down about five minutes and there's a few other steak houses that are much better, competition definitely makes for a better restaurant. Well I hate it when I'm right, but yet again it took FOREVER to be served a beer at our table last night. I had to remind our waitress, Sam, that I had actually ordered a beer. This is the same scenario that happens EVERY time at Outback, Burlington. The food, however, is actually very good. In fact, the porterhouse chop I ordered last night was cooked perfectly and delicious. So the two stars given are for the food. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner at Outback in Burlington NC. We have had quite a few problems in the past but decided to go back. Disappointed once again! Salads continue to get smaller, took well over an hour to get our food and the quality was questionable for the price on the menu. The manager was walking around blaming the cook and it's clearly poor management. This place needs complete overhaul. Destiny was a great server and took very good care of us considering what she had to work with. They wonder why there is very seldom a wait here and Texas Roadhouse has a wait time of a hour some nights? Won't be back! read more

If you want a good steak go somewhere else. Service has gone downhill here. My steak had to go back as it was done cooked to the temperature I ordered. This is my first time eating at Outback Steakhouse. I have been to several steakhouses in various states and in North Carolina. I was with some friends and we ordered over $100 worth of food. The food got to our friends house and everyone else had no problem with their meal. However, I ordered a steak (rare) which was correct. The mashed potatoes were fantastic. My problem arose when I opened the container that was supposed to contained "steamed veggies" and found three pieces of broccoli. I called the restaurant and the first person I talked to was rude. The manager seemed to not understand why I was aggravated. However, she was great to make things right and replaced my order of broccoli and even added an appetizer onto it for free. I am debating whether or not I want to eat there again simply because I've never really had issues with any other steak house before. Hope this helps someone! read more

My mother & I went to Outback last week and it was really, really good. We sat in the bar section even though we don't indulge b/c it gave us a bit more privacy so we could talk like we wanted to and just enjoy our meal. Our sweet, professional, pretty waitress (Heather) took the best care of us. She was a really caring young lady. Then, the nicest gentleman came to our booth and checked in on us, as well. Tipped the waitress 30% BUT the bill was comped. One server made the same mistake not once but THREE times, causing drinks to be spilled on my mother, brother and two year old. He was pushing the sling for the trays (which are meant to be carried not pushed) with 10-15 drinks on it, spilled drinks 3 times and did not clean it up. When the other staff came through she slipped and fell and the drinks went flying. Literally 6 whole beverages dumped on my family. If I was that waiter, I would have lost my job. He's not only an inconvenience to the other wait staff who fell and could not access their tables, he was an inconvenience to his bar by dropping several drinks causing them to have to remake them multiple times when they are busier than he was, costing the restaurant money not only by loss of alcohol and food but by having them pay for two tables tickets, and the other waitress had to leave after falling bc of him. Then inconveniencing 2 managers and 3 other staff that cleaned his mess while he continued with his tables. Might I add his greet was "hi my name is (so and so) I'll be tending to this table." Bruh... what? No he was not my server thank god. The managed excuse was "well he has 6 tables".... girl bye. Livid was not the word. Don't even get me started with the rude host. Food is usually--can get crowded on the dining room. We usually get carry out and have for several years. Lately, the carry out service has dropped off. Service is slow, not as friendly, orders incorrect, etc. We are considering trying the other steakhouse chain in town instead... As an addendum, the broccoli tonight was yellow and over cooked an the filet we got was probably a rib eye cut. Wow, the quality really dropped off. read more

I really want to write a good review for Outback Burlington but it seems that they just can't pull it together. The last several times we leave here, it's with disappointment. The main reason is the long wait time to get your food and then when it comes out- mistakes! Over cooked steaks, forgetting our son's order and cold food. Tonight it was a shortage of flatware, wait to get the appetizer plates because of not enough clean ones, wait to get a high chair after the food coming out and burnt steak! Come on now. I wanted to say that I had an amazing experience at Outback this past Monday night with some friends. A friend and I in the group suffer from a Gluten/Wheat intolerance and I have never felt more welcome at a restaurant with my allergy! The menus were not something just printed off the computer, they were normal menus with everything that was gluten free. Everytime I have been to this Outback location I have never had any issues or compliants. Visited Saturday evening, although we had a 20 minute wait we were seated promply and the waitress was attentive and very friendly. Food was outstanding, the steak was cook exactly how i wanted it. I can't think of anything that went wrong here and I go out alot and I am very picky. Love the Kookaburra wings and the quesadillas are great dipped in ranch and Frank's Red-Hot (our waitress suggested this lol).Tastes even better when washed down with a nice cold Sam Adams! I've read some of the issues that other folks have written in their reviews, but so far, our service has always been great! The only thing that was even worthy of mention was when we went there the last time, the two young ladies working the front desk seemed like they did not get along at all...you could definitely pick up on the tension between the two. Normally visit this outback.......not anymore. My wife and I just had a child and I was going to order takeout. My mother was going to drive across town and pick up the dinner for me and my wife. Was told by Brooke and Heidi (both managers) that they could not take payment over the phone.....really?? It's 2014!! I offered to even send them a pic of the front and back of my credit card!! We were seated right away... And that's where the pleasant experience ended. The atmosphere was far too dark and way too cold. Our waitress was prompt but inattentive. The appetizer (bl. onion) was not at all what they usually look like... all clumped together or bent over. My order was wrong (ordered med rare filet... Got a med well sirloin, but ate it anyway rather than wait another half hour for the correct steak), the steak was way over cooked, and the salad greens were wilted. I had to ask several times for lemon for my tea. We asked for dessert to go and she brought it on a plate. I will never go to that place again. The prices were way too high for the sizes of steak offered. I've had great experiences at other Outbacks, but will never return to this one. read more
