I recently went to this Outback location for my birthday dinner. The drink from the bar I had was good as was the steak I ordered. I did have an issue with one of the sides I ordered as I was not told that it was not available until my steak was brought out. Outback was right beside our hotel and so we decided to walk on over. Must be a concert in town because everyone had on cowboy hats and it was very busy. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. We really like going to Outback Steakhouses. We drive through Charleston regularly on our way through WV. Three times ordered takeout here over past 6 months and something is always wrong. One time it was forgotten mixed up sides, this time it was an nearly raw burger that was so over seasoned it was inedible. The only reason this is not 1 star is bc the staff was nice. Very very slow service. Took forever for a waitress to show up. Like 10 mins Then took another 10 minutes to bring our drinks to us. We made sure we ordered before she left again. Drink ran out and it has been about 15 minutes since it was empty. Got our food and wasn't very warm. I have eaten half of it and still don't have a drink. Also music was too loud and the speaker above our table was cracking and popping. And to top it off the restaurant was not busy. It is a Wednesday night we got here at 8pm. Once the waitress came to give us the bill we told her about the food. She said she would do something about it. And she did get two of our meals comped. So that was good. Just the worst thing is how long it was between the waitress stopping by. Why is service so slow when a restaurant is not busy. And yea I did leave a $10 tip because I believe you still need to tip even if they mess up. I probably would of left more if the service was better. So as I am leaving I walk around the restaurant back to my hotel and I realize why the service was so bad. About 5 employees including our waitress was outside smoking. So if you want to be a good server do your job and stop taking so many smoke breaks when you have customers to take care of. And to Manager's you need to pay more attention to your employees, and make it a habit of going around the restaurant and checking on your servers tables. This place really needs to get its act together. I went there last night and put my name in for a table for two and was told 20 minutes. 20 minutes comes and goes and no table and people who came in after us are seated. The host (African-American male, white shirt, black pants, hair in cornrows) comes back up to the host stand and I ask "What happened to table for 2 for Jim?" He looks bewildered and then says "Oh.......I called your name several times and you didn't answer so we deleted you out of the system." I told him "no you didn't," as I was sitting five feet away from the host stand, to which he responds "Oh, well we'll get you a table as soon as possible." It soon became quite evident that this guy was either incredibly inept, or he smoked a blunt before or during his shift. We finally managed to get a half-assed table in the lounge area, and the host promised us menus, which never came. Thankfully, a waiter saw us sitting there, dropped menus, and took our drink order. The bread was rock hard. The Coconut shrimp were burned on the outside, the food took forever in coming to the table, and 2/3rds of my 12oz prime rib was fat. How this place is still in business is beyond me, but there seems to be a general apathy among the service workers in the area. read more

I don't ever write reviews on a business. If I have bad experience I normally just don't go back. However, my experience tonight at this establishment has warranted some serious feedback. First, I understand that it's a Friday night and that there will be a wait. All that being said, we waited an hour to be seated. After being seated, it was a good 20 minutes before we got to order, 20 minutes after that to get an appetizer, and then 20 minutes after that to get a side salad. Entrees came just about 2 hours after our arrival. The food itself was mediocre. I ordered a medium rare steak, which on a good day would be considered medium well. The cut was super chewy, which made me regret coming out in the first place. We can cook better for ourselves at home. My husband and I were able to secure a babysitter for the night, which is a very rare occurrence for us. Let me first say I am not a fan of chains, but this place might just change my mind. We came in at 9pm, the close at 10pm. We were seated right away. The restaurant followed COVID restrictions well. The food was pretty good. The wait staff was outstanding. Honestly top notch wait staff. They were attentive without being invasive. Service was prompt and thoughtful, hands down one of the best dining experiences with wait staff in my life. It started when they wouldnt bring us silverware. We asked twice and the server said it was the hostesses job. Okay so the salads showed up and we had no way to eat it! My son went on a scavenger hunt and got them from other tables. Then they would not remove old plates or glasses to make room for the new food! This was absolutely crazy; like "it's some one else's job to do that" so let the guest be uncomfortable. Idk what happened this day at outback but I will most likely never return to this location. Me and my husband were seated and greeted by our server Rob he took our drink order and app order which went well 10 mins pass he hasn't come back to take our actual order he brings our app and spills ranch on the table no biggie I will clean it up. He went to get us a new ranch and some napkins comes back slams it on the table and leaves still doesn't take our order, another ten minutes pass we've more than halfway finished our app no refills menus closed the whole deal he has stopped at our table twice now not offered a refill or said anything just stopped right infront of the table and looked at us. Another 15 minutes pass our app is gone bread gone no drinks no sign of our server so i have to go find someone at host stand who grabs rob and I think a manager. We really have to get going at this point so we just want to pay for the food we've eaten and tell him that he says he was doing prep work but he was dripping sweat and I'm not trying to be mean but he was acting like he was high asf. I just ask for the bill I watch him print our receipt and hands it too me it's 66$ obviously not our bill I tell him that he gets upset says it was the manager then balls the receipt up in his fist while walking away comes back we get our right bill I ask to speak to a manager cause I just can't at this point the dude is obviously high as fuck the whole time shit service shit food he comes out with another manager who looks high asf and he just stands there the whole time can't speak to the manager at all. We came here for lunch - when we got there right as we sat down the waitress said to the hostess "I don't want to take another table (we were her 3rd table)." It then took her 30 minutes for us to receive our drinks. After an hour of being there she comes back and lets us know she forgot to put our order in! Once the food finally came out it had 3 hairs in it that we found. Once we told the manager of our entire experience of being there he took 3 dollars off of our bill. Lol a dollar per hair!
