The food was good but when I got home I took a closer look at the receipt. Evidently, Outback plays games with their tip recommendations. See the photo I uploaded. 20% of the $38.68 subtotal is $7.74. But they show it would be $9.27. That's a huge discrepancy that many patrons might overlook and get fooled into overpaying, as I had done. I'm going to be more careful next time if I ever eat there again. read more

Haven't been to outback in a while, and I've been missing out this whole time! I went to try out the Aussie 3-course meal, and it did not disappoint! Portions were huge, and I walked out feeling stuffed. Service was great, our server was new, but did a great job and met our expectations with all our dietary accommodations. Ambiance was standard for a chain, lots of seating, and decent amount of noise, but wasn't too loud. Loved this meal deal, I got the 6oz filet (not pictured bc I was too excited to eat it) and it was delicious! I look forward to going back soon! read more

I don't usually do this type of thing but I'm very upset. This is the second time I dealt with the same exact thing. I order curbside take away. I got a potato soup and a house salad with ranch. I asked for the big cup side of ranch. The lady on the phone said no problem, it will be around ten minutes. I arrived and obviously didn't mind waiting. I'm very patient when it comes to customer service or anyone taking care of me. Now I ordered at 12:30 I waited 45 minutes in the pick up lane. I decided to go inside, there was no one at the register and I heard people laughing in the back. A guy came up eating. I usually ALWAYS give tip but seeing that this is the SECOND time this happened I was very frustrated and didn't tip. I also didn't get my side of ranch which again the second time this happened. I feel bad for not leaving a tip and getting frustrated but when you are waiting over 45 minutes for a SOUP and SALAD with missing items, it was be very annoying. I didn't get my food until 1:18 and when I got home (live not even ten minutes away) my soup was cold. read more

Wow Commack, you have something great going on here in Commack. We loved the Outback 20 plus years ago as our kids were growing up, and the Westbury location is a stone's throw from home. But over the years we stopped going, I just can't get past the heavy shellac blond oak everywhere, and the quality took a nose dive, IMO Lately, my extended family has been returning for their fabulous coconut shrimp, which at the Commack location was out of this world. At 4:30 pm on a cold mid January Saturday, the restaurant was already 1/3 filled and by the time we left at 6:30, they were on a fairly long wait list. Yet, the wait staff & front desk, could not have been more welcoming & delightful. What is really nice for teens to go with their friends, is they offer a nice 14.99 menu which is really nice, with upgrades and lots of choices available. I feel like they really do not advertise or make use of social media as best they can, so many people have just forgotten about them. But if you are in the area, I think it is a nice place for a simple meal that does not break the bank. I'd avoid rush hour times, although they do offer a "call ahead" which might move you up the wait list a bit. They also offer a 10% Veterans discount, how nice is that ? Standard run of the mill outback steakhouse, and this location will always be packed, and have their regulars who come in all the time. The food is par for the course, the service was alright, friendly but slow, and the food also was just okay. If you want good specials and best bang for your buck, this spot is a popular one. read more

Went for dinner fairly late and decided to sit at the bar to be seated fast. Bobby was the bartender and he very helpful with directing me to the good stuff on the menu. He recommended a drink called The Castaway and man o man was it scruptious. One of the best summer drinks I've tasted in awhile. I had an appetizer Blooming Onion and it was amazing. If you're into onion rings you'll absolutely love this thing. And the dipping sauce was delicious. Main was the Salmon and it was wonderfully delicious lol! I had an amazing dinner. The game was on so I was able to watch it and the music was good. Everyone at the bar was vibing and just relaxing and sipping. I will be back sooner than later. read more

I did not have a good experience here. The waitress was super inattentive or just wanted to get more money out of us. We ordered steak with sides and pasta with sides. We thought pasta with sides was included. It was not. So she let us order it without letting us know it was extra. So when we got the bill, it was more expensive than we thought. $10 more. We asked and she said it was in the menu, if it was then why didn't she tell us ??? We paid extra for no reason. I left super upset and dissatisfied. The steak was okay though, slightly overcooked. Here's the Scoop! Outback has a blooming shrimp platter now and oh my my it is so good. I love the blooming onion do I decided to switch it up and check out the blooming shrimp . It is a win, win! The shrimp are fried to perfection and you just pop them in your mouth. Yum! I ordered the ribs as my entree. My lunch was delish! Haven't been back since my last review 3 years ago. Thankfully not busy , we were Eagerly greeted by the cute Asian host and she seated us in Bobby's section. We had already looked at the menu before going in, so we were ready to order immediately. Bobby was very friendly and knowledgeable. We chose the fried mushrooms and they came out quite quickly. Had the best baked potato soup, a Caesar salad and a chopped blue cheese salad, which are always served in chilled salad bowls. Bobby was there to provide refills of not only our sodas but our brown bread too. Our steaks were prepared just as requested and the coconut shrimp had a tasty sauce for dipping (orange marmalade with horseradish?). I spent $76 plus tip for pick up order on a steak salad, chicken salad, steak sandwich and two potatoes. The quality of the food was just ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. The steak was cut in tiny pieces & place in a tiny cardboard container. It was a total of 4 pieces. This was my husband's four piece steak salad. The steak sandwich was just as bad. I have patronizing Outback for over 20 years & as of late it's getting worst & worse. I will no longer order out from Outback this is TERRIBLE QUALITY OF FOOD. read more

The Outback Steakhouse is a staple chain restaurant in Long Island. The Outback Steakhouse is known for always keeping the popular menu items available. They also bring in different seasonal items. I tried one of the Steak N' Mate combinations. It consisted of a signature Center-Cut Sirloin and Bloomin' Fried Chicken . It was really appetizing. My only problem with this location is the way the beer is served . The Bloomin' Blonde Ale was flat . I had it replaced with a Samuel Adams , it was slightly better but the beer needs to be fresher and cooler. read more

Went to Outback last night to celebrate a 90th birthday with a party of 16 people. The reservation was made months ago and confirmed four times, the most recent confirmation was within the past week. When we arrived at 6:00 PM, we were told there was no record of our reservation. The staff said it would be a 45-minute wait, which we were willing to accept. Forty-five minutes turned into an hour, and still no table. A young server kindly offered to take our drink orders outside while we waited, but the manager shut that down immediately, saying Outback "does not accept reservations" and that we were "not allowed to drink outside." To make matters worse, another birthday party who arrived after us was seated before us. When we explained that our reservation had been confirmed multiple times, the manager dismissed it completely and showed no concern or courtesy. In the end, we took our business elsewhere, Sangria 71, where the service and hospitality were the complete opposite (see my review there). This experience was rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. The manager's attitude lost Outback the business of 16 people, and I sincerely hope others take note. We will never dine at Outback Commack again. read more

I was just in the outback for the first time in many years I went to the one on Jericho Turnpike in Commack. When I first walked in, it was very quiet. I sat down at the bar young lady was standing off to the side of the bar saw me sit down. Another girl was behind the bar turned to me and said someone will be with you in one minute. About five minutes later the girl who initially saw me, came behind the bar and asked me if she could help me. I was curious as to why she waited five minutes maybe more to ask me if I needed help when she saw me sit down? That being said I ordered Caesar salad and a steak off of the lunch special. It was 355 in the afternoon and I asked her if I could still order a lunch special which said it was good until 4 o'clock. She said well it's past 4 o'clock, but I'll let you do it anyway I tapped my phone looked at my clock and it was only 355 at that time. The salad came out right away and I have to say it was very good. It was cold and the taste was excellent. I ordered a sirloin steak and that came out shortly afterwards and that was also very well cooked, just as I had askedI for it I was pleasantly surprised and it was very reasonable. Unfortunately, the service was atrocious. The girl was barely behind the bar. I received my food. I needed salt. There was no one to ask, and it was a group of staff members standing by the kitchen talking the girl, hardly checked to see if I needed anything except for when it was time to collect the check there was no one at the bar and now I understand why it was un engaging and a girl had no interest in waiting on me or anyone else who might' have sat at that bar. I come from 30 years in the restaurant business as waiter, bartender and owner and first time in my life I didn't want to leave a penny as a tip I would not suggest the outback in Commack on a Tuesday afternoon at 3:55 PM not the same staff is there.. today's day and age when brick and mortar. I came in on a Tuesday evening because I had a serious craving for outbacks signature bloomin onion. We sat down and were greeting by our server Jake. The food was excellent and service was just as impeccable. Jake even recommended another app that we might enjoy - Outbacks specialty loaded cheese fries. We got through it as best we could and never mentioned it to our waitress, because the Manager already had given us a card for a future free blooming onion prior to steaks arriving.
