Have to start off by saying I am a huge fan of the Outback steakhouse. I have been to most of the ones in the area and always keep on coming back for more. Unfortunately when it comes to the Outback I am not that outgoing, I generally order the same thing every time I go. I started with a blooming onion which was totally amazing. Onto a house salad with blue cheese dressing. For a main coarse I always order the 9oz sirloin medium with a baked potato with everything on it. The steak was cooked perfect and was totally delicious as always. The service was excellent and the waitress super friendly and nice. Outback was fair. We were seated immediately in a booth in the bar area. I believe our server was also the bartender as I watched her making drinks. She was lovely. I ordered a sirloin steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. For sides I asked for 2 Caesar salads. They came out together so you would have to expect the same person made both. I can't imagine why one was drowning in dressing and the other had hardly any. I would have been unhappy with either but when mixed together it was ok. My daughter had the new prime rib sandwich at the recommendation of our server. When she first tasted it, she said the meat was delicious. After a few bites of the first half the meat was gone and it was just roll. So she moved on to the other half. It was ridiculously over cooked to the point of being crunchy. Had a very pleasant experience at Outback. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. We had a traditional 16oz prime rib and a bone in rib eye which were tender, well seasoned and tasty. A side of sautéed mushrooms was adequate but unremarkable. House salads were crisp and generously sized. We started with a blooming onion which was crispy and fantastically delicious! My only criticism is that they should think about lining the serving plate with an absorbent paper. The last few bites get awful greasy. We were treating a friend to the Commack Outback, They accept a type of reservation, which makes it easier to get a table. It was early, so it wasn't really needed, We were greeted and seated, by choice, in the bar. The music was a tad loud, which can be annoying when everyone's hearing is bad, and you are having a conversation. Our charming waitress was on the ball, and put the drink orders in, and the decadent Blooming Onion, which is a perfect appetizer if you want to linger awhile. We did. No rush. The entrees were good...spareribs...steak...filet and lobster tail. The lobster tail was just OK, We ordered dessert and coffee. All was good. read more

Delicious food! Great service! I got the Alice springs chicken with the modification of no honey mustard. It was really yummy. My hubby got ribs which were so tender the meat was literally falling off the bone! We also got bloomin blossoms which is a smaller order of the famous bloomin onion. They were delicious and there were plenty for us to share! Our waiter was excellent too! I also watched him interact with a table to elderly women next to us. Not having been at an Outback Steakhouse in awhile, I was pleasantly surprised to see updated décor and all the new items on the menu. Of all the chain restaurants around, I personally think Outback provides the diner with a higher quality meal. I went here last night for a late dinner with a friend. I typically like to have dinner later, but living on LI, the dining choices tend to be rather bleak the later it gets (chain restaurants and diners-ugh!). I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with my meal, the service, and the cool new atmosphere - more African than Australian. As always, I started off with a couple of drinks: Margarita Down Under style (extra shot Cuervo Gold and Grand Marnier). Typically, I would never order mixed drinks in chain restaurants as they are usually limited to 1oz. of ETOH so what's the point? I'm telling you, these packed a nice punch! With our main course my friend and I each did a Big Bloke..umm..beer that is! A 22oz. pouring of Foster's Lager served in a huge freezing iced mug..oh so nice, and for $6.99, it's a great deal. For an appy, I ordered their Seared Ahi Tuna $6.99 which was sushi grade and incredibly fresh. It is served with two types of dipping sauces: cream ginger-soy and wasabi vinaigrette. Both sauces were heavily spiced, but I honestly didn't even need them as the tuna was great on its own. For dinner, I went with their Steak and Shrimp on the Barbie $18.99 (12oz. sirloin with skewer of 6 med shrimp and 2 sides). No complaints here; steak perfectly done as ordered, decent shrimp, a huge sea salted baked potato, and steamed haricot vers. All really really good. For dessert, which I should have skipped, we all split their Oreo Cookies N Cream Waffles $5.99 (hot chocolate waffles with vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with Oreo cookies). Really? It was good, but not worth the 5lbs I gained eating it. Service was awesome thanks to Mary, our awesome Outbacker. Ironically, Mary was my server the last time I was here over a year ago. Service was excellent with her then as it was last evening. Mary you rock! I would definitely hit this Outback again for a quick decent meal. I'm a fan. They must be doing something consistently right because their parking lot is always packed! I just want to say i haven't been to this outback in a while because of covid but the neal was anaxing and fiod was fabulous. Everyone knows the owner snd he is extremely attentive and friendly and always making sure everything is on par. Frank is a great owner snd makes sure everything is run to perfection. Came for dinner. Haven't been here in years. Call ahead seating still needed to wait 30 min. We were a group of 4. The prime rib, ny strip steak and unlimited shrimp, Cesar salad, was delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly. We ordered the blooming onion and chicken wings it came out with our meal? Ugh. So much for an appetizer. Waitress was trying but definitely overwhelmed. The slowest service ever, ordered drinks which never came. Unlimited shrimp we got one plate, gave up waiting for the second plate. Management needs to train their employees to move faster. Stopped by here yesterday during my lunch break. I sat at the bar, and on the opposite side of me were two booths for a total of five people in the bar space. When I went to the bathroom, I noticed that there couldn't have been more than three or four other occupied tables. It was a little after 1:00pm, so it made sense that the house wasn't packed. I ordered kookaburra wings, a Caesar salad, and a Porterhouse w/mashed potatoes. Since I had at least six more hours of work ahead of me, I figured I'd pick at my food as lunch and dinner as I worked. (Full disclosure: I stopped at an Outback in or around Lindenhurst the night before and ordered the same thing--minus the wings--and the food and service were excellent.) Thirty minutes after ordering, I still didn't have a steak in front of me. & when I went to the host to inquire about the extended wait (the bartender/bar server had disappeared), he got upset and acted like I was being a nuisance! I told him to cancel the steak and just charge me for everything else. Why did I have to bring him a menu so he could look up the prices? Finally, the bartender/bar server came out from the back and removed the food that never made its way to my plate. When she asked me if I wanted her to go get me a bag for the wings, I told her no, because that would probably take too long and I had to go back to work. The dollar and change that I left her from the almost $20 I paid for good food but lousy service was more than enough for such a terrible experience. I'll keep going to Outback, because I love the wings and other stuff on the menu, but this location is off my list. Pffffft! read more

I am slowly returning to the dining scene. I went out to dinner after a little shopping with my husband on 4/19/21. I did not plan to post a review however, the experience made me change my mind. Dinner was great - we only had one hiccup which was my husband ordered his porter house well done and it came out rare. No worries...our waitress Sara took care of it. With the pandemic having us all basically isolated for months when you finally come out you want to encounter a waitresses like Sara. Start to finish she was on it. My wife and I had finally managed to get a night to ourselves and thought we go grab some steak. This Outback location was in the area so we went there. When we arrived their was one couple ahead of us so we thought we were in luck. No waiting. Well...lol we were wrong. We left our name with a hostess (slim with blonde hair that hung slightly past her shoulder) that looked like she had something else on her mind besides what she probably should be doing (I'll explain why in a bit). The couple ahead of us got seated. Then 3 other groups came in after us. Gave their names and sat in the waiting area with us. Figured we would be next. One of those groups (an older white couple) got called and taken to a table. Hmm...ok. Another white couple that came in after us got taken to their table. ?? Then the 3rd group that came in and checked in after us got sat. WTH? So I said "excuse me" to one of the other hostesses (a black girl with dyed hair) and questioned her why they were all seated before us? She gave me a glare and said "they had all called in before hand" in a rather annoyed tone. Could it have been? If that were the case then wouldn't at least one of the groups have actually mentioned that when they checked in? We were sitting right next to the hostess station and I'm pretty sure that our hearing hadn't gone suddenly. So then another hostess asked us if we would be willing to sit in a table where one seat was a booth and the other was a chair. This apparently was a seat that no one wanted cause it wasn't private and was near the back by the bathroom. How did we know that? Cause they were joking about that spot with the waiter that apparently was assigned that table shortly after we said no. There were plenty of other booths that were open and they didn't ask any of the other 3 groups that came in after us that were seated before us if they wanted to sit in that crap table. Remember we were right next to the hostess station so we could clearly hear they had not. Finally after no one was left apparently that still wanted to sit down. The hostess that I had mentioned that appeared to have something else other than doing what she's supposed to do earlier, turned to us and asked "what's your name again?". I said "are you serious?". They ignored my consternation and basically told the only hostess of the group that actually seemed interested in being a hostess (a young blond girl with her hair up and wearing glasses) to sit us. We thought about talking to the manager at that location (a tall slim guy in his 30s with brown hair and a beard) but he never came over. Did walk by our table numerous times without even looking our way. He seemed more interested in chatting with the hostesses than checking up on their customers. Throughout our stay he was regularly up by the hostess station trying to joke around and hang out with the hostesses. The waiter was great and that one poor hostess that ended up sitting us (the other hostesses kept being asked to clean tables while they stood around) were pretty much the only positives among the staff there that we interacted with at this Outback location. I would most definitely not recommend this particular location if fair and friendly treatment by the host staff and management care is important to you. If not then...non apetit lol. Steak chain from a fake down under. Outback is actually not that bad of a place for a quick bite even though it is a chain and all that Aussie business is pure marketing b.s. This Outback sits in the Mayfair shopping center and unlike some of the other Outback locations, never seems to be that crazy busy that you cannot get a seat at the bar- so they score a double for that. The menu is standard to the chain - you can get a decent (not spectacular) piece of meat and even some veggies and a cold one to wash it all down and be out of there for $20. Not too shabby. They run a lot of specials at the bar- they had a sweet $3.99 margarita thing going on all summer which was nice. The bartenders are a bit standoffish - they seem to push the food a lot which I'm guessing is a management decree but overall not a bad place. Parking all around. read more

Took the family for some Thursday night eats, YA always need a good cow fix. They have a $9.99 entree special now and then. My son had the ribs special and he was thrilled! The meat fell off the bone as he almost fell off his chair! He was in heaven. Me on the other hand...and I quote the 1980's Wendy's Commercial "Where's the beef!?" I had to order another steak special with different sides on the fly as there is no way this could fill my appetite. So as I inhaled what was in front of me, I had some of their unlimited bread cleverly placed on a wood platter with a nifty handle and some drawn butter. When my second special came....I was like....uh! I'm full! My wife looked at me and said....uh huh! Eyes are bigger than my stomach, so she helped me finish. Good service, decent meal, nice experience because the Knicks game was on the TV at the bar! Compared to Peter Lugers, the steak was like a Swansons TV dinner, but then again, the price was so cheap for steak, I looked at it like it was free in comparison. We went to outback today to get two orders of kookaburra wings medium spice. This was for takeout. We asked for two breads with the order, but we're told only one would be included for no charge. We were the only car there when they opened at 11:00 a.m. We asked for extra blue cheese and celery on the side. It did not take long to get the order. When we opened the bag to eat the wings, a small loaf of bread was there with a tiny smidge of butter in a cup. Extra blue cheese cups were included, but only three measly celery sticks for each order. The wings were dry and overcooked. On top of everything, not one napkin! What a mess! It wasn't like anyone else was at the restaurant. I tipped for takeout, but was left with half the meal on our fingers. read more

When it comes to delicious steak take out- outback kills it over black stone, rare 650, etc. Furthermore, they have an incredible ability to correct past mistakes. Twice in the past the wrong steak weight was sent to me and they admittedly sent a new one with apologies and a complimentary dessert onetime. Poor service. Do not ever order the hamburger. Seriously over priced and horrible quality. Hamburger was smaller than kid size for $13.99. Waitress defended the burger blaming me for ordering it without the bun. If they want to charge full price they need to serve a full hamburger. Very very disappointing. Took my family here this evening and had a very troubling experience. After ordering and receiving a cheeseburger I realized the waitress never asked me how I wanted it cooked. The burger was very well done so I told the manager that I didn't specify but wanted my burger cooked to medium temperature. She came out with another burger shortly and apologized. As I took a bite of the burger I realized it was raw on the inside. Completely raw. The manager apologized again and the item was taken off my bill. However, I've been grossed out ever since.
