Overall, tasty food and nice ambiance. It'd been a while since I'd been, but it was nice to go with some friends recently. The parking lot is kind of weird to navigate, but it's a good size. This Outback has been here a long time, and has always been my favorite one in the whole Philadelphia area. It was super-renovated a couple years ago, and isn't nearly as flashy as the newer King of Prussia mall location - but it doesn't have to be. Parking can be challenging on weekend evenings, but there happens to be plenty of it in the parking lot 'out back' (see what I did there?!!), and crossing over while going up the hill on Ridge avenue can be a little intimidating. The restaurant itself is large enough for the area, yet still feels nice & cozy inside. For some reason, this is my choice meeting place with friends; perhaps based upon past experience with wonderfully friendly service to us. And the service has never been less than attentive to our table, either in drink refills or wait times on food to be delivered. While Outback is a chain, subject to staff turnovers and quality, this location has delivered pretty consistent food whenever I come here. My ribs were full of bbq sauce that I requested dry. We never got refills because our server was never around and he had tables in different rooms. . Seriously what's more legendary than the Blooming Onion and Aussie cheese fries. Nothing...at least nothing is just as caloric, but sometimes you got to indulge. This is exactly what I got in curbside to go take out from here. Back in the day (20 years ago) Outback didn't face much competition and was an hour wait to get in. The service and food was outstanding!! We went there for my husband's birthday. We sat in the bar area and was served by Kris. His friendliness and attentiveness was genuine. First time in Philly. Horrible service! Given salad no fork! Waited 15 mins for a fork. Whiskey glass empty no one asked if you want another glass. Food was over cooked! Tonight my grandmother and sister took me here for my birthday dinner. Although we got there around 8:30 and we were seated right away, no one came to take our drink order or greet us for about 15 min or so. I mentioned that the other Outback I usually go to has better service and we would have had our drinks by that time as a server passed by. A few minutes later, a server, Dave, came over to introduce himself and apologize for the wait; apparently there was a problem that had caused our prolonged wait. Plus half way through the meal the manager came over and apologized as well; he offered us free dessert and a $25 gift card for our trouble. All the food was average: my salad was fine, my shrimp were okay, but my broccoli was slightly overcooked. My sister only had a salad. My grandmother said her steak and lobster platter was great. The service was good after I made my complaint. Our server, Dave, was extremely attentive; my glass was never below half, plus he was very polite to begin with. Plus, I can't complain about how the manager handled the issue of us being ignored for so long. I guess I'll be back to use my gift card and see if round 2 is any better! read more

Unlike some, i really don't have a problem with a solidly performing chain restaurant. There is something to be said for predictable a-OK food anywhere in the country, especially when you've had to travel for business as much as I have. Some nights you don't really want to find out that Tex's Yum Yum Steakhouse is gross. You just want a decent meal. This Outback fits the bill nicely, with solidly performing predictable food. They got the "Pittsburgh Rare" right - something not every griller can do. The Bleu Cheese & Pecan Chopped Salad was seriously YUM, I could have that as a meal all by itself. Here's what sets this one apart - really good service. We ordered, devoured the bread, then the next thing we know Kaitlin the very nice Manager was apologizing for the delay we hadn't noticed in getting our appetizers to us. OK. Philly in general is not a great steak town (As opposed to, say, Kansas City, Tucson, or anywhere in Texas). So for a decently cooked flavorful steak, you really can't go wrong with this Outback. They take care of your experience there too, which is a plus. read more

Got the steak and shrimp and it was amazing! Steak was cooked perfectly to order, and the shrimp was delicious. We also shared a cheese fries which I highly recommend. The staff here are very helpful and a accommodating. We ordered 2 meals and had issues with one of the steaks*. I called in to let them know the issue the next day and they offered to make up for it with another whole order. The blooming onion is as good and greasy as I remember. The reason I docked a star is that since the few times we've been here, each time had inconsistent wellness outcomes. We often want medium rare/ medium but will sometime get a steak spot-on and other times it is over lol okee. We will just order more rare going forward... overall good food like I remember as a kid. read more

I know what to expect when I go to a chain steakhouse, and Outback let me down. The main problem was the waitress. Glasses remained empty throughout the meal. My son received his meal before his salad. We had to wait for a while to order desert. As for the food, two of our steaks were overdone and dry. The manager Tina was very rude to me, I ordered my food at 9:20pm and picked it by 9:30pm and they forgot both order of my fries. I went back inside and she threatened to take my discount off if I wanted the fries. Then tells me the fryer is down. So I told her I wanted a refund on my two orders of fries or I wanted both orders of my fries and she gave me a whole run around. She only took off one order because another order was with a meal. Very unprofessional. And on the counter the waitress literally had gel and comb on it at the curb side pick up register, which is disgusting. Outback is my fave steakhouse. They support our military for years. They give a 10% discount as well to AARP members. We stopped at this place after driving 11 hours from Canada. We skipped lunch and we were famished. Service from Kenneth was great. Drinks, salad, and bread came out fast. Then our steak arrived seconds after we finished our salad. Even though it is called Outback Steakhouse my cousins and I primarily go to Outback for the Kookaburra wings. Yesterday we went and initially were informed wings were still in stock. Unfortunately they sold out as we were being seated. Initially upset, the manager Tina came and offered her sincerest apologies. You could tell it was one of those real apologies and not the forced corporate ones. Tina also provided a coupon for wings at our next visit which really heightened the entire experience.
