As chain steakhouses go, Outback is a favorite of mine. This location is a busy one, though. Not really ideal if you actually want to talk to the people you're at dinner with. Staff are friendly here and food is always good. Only suggestion is that you go during a typically slow lunch/dinner time...otherwise you won't be able to carry on a conversation with the waiter/waitress, let alone your companions. read more

We came to celebrate my mom's birthday because she wanted to try the four course option they're offering (soup, salad, entree, and dessert) we also ordered a Bloomin' Onion (best thing we had) I ordered a Huckleberry Hooch cocktail which was amazing. The onion was good when it first came but once it cooled down in got mushy. I'm never expressed with salads, but the potato soup was good for a restaurant. The baked potato side was inedible and the steak had a lot of fat but good taste. The cheesecake cake was tiny in comparison to the carrot cake, which was much better! Our waitress hardly ever came around to our table and when we asked for a second loaf of bread she acted like it was a big deal, and it ended up being burnt! Overall very meh! read more

Most friendly Outback I've ever been to! We were greeted by 4 people upon entering the restaurant, there was no wait to be seated and they sat the 2 of us in a giant booth! Great fillet, Tasty but very very tiny lobster tail & overcooked. Salads were not as fresh as usual. Wow. I can't believe they only have an average of a three-star rating on Yelp. Those folks giving lesser ratings obviously have not been to our Outback. Service was prompt and courteous. Our visit started out like a comedy of errors. Among other things, my partner chose the Victoria's filet topped with grilled shrimp and bearnaise sauce. The manager came out to tell us they didn't have it because it's a regional item. After changing the order and starting to damage a loaf of fabulous baked bread, here comes the manager again to tell us the kitchen somehow lost our order. They brought us a drink (Wallaby Darned, which was probably the best frozen cocktail I've ever had). After that, things rolled smoother. The filet was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, as was the grilled lobster tail. They gave us a complimentary dessert, which was not necessary but much appreciated. Best Location EVER! Military Friendly Ownership Normally my trip to Outback is pretty standard, but this looks cation is different. Upon arriving we we genuinely greeted by a number of staff members, who asked how we were, in addition to any programed "welcome" gestures. Our wait on a Saturday night was four minutes. I just left curbside pickup, where I ordered wings and fries. When I arrived to pickup my order, there was me and one other car outside waiting. When the girl who was bringing out the orders finally came out, she tended to the first car for about 20 mins. When she finally got to me, my food was COLD! She said she would go get her manager, instead of just offering to reheat my meal. The manager, Christy, came out and immediately accused me of being late. I wasn't late, matter of fact, I was EARLY‼She didn't offer a discount or to reheat my food. Instead she kept constantly accusing me of being late and she gave me the name of the owner stating that he could give me more information than she could. It's an Outback, so you pretty much know what you're getting. We eat here several times a year. My daughter likes the salmon, 2-year-old granddaughter loves the brown bread & the sweet potatoes. I usually get the small sirloin and their veggies are usually quite good--not overcooked as they are some places. You can eat fairly healthy here, or you can go all out splurge. They have good cheese fries and the bloomin' onion is quite popular. I don't think I've ever gotten dessert here--way too full, but they do have it. Services is okay, not usually spectacular, but also not awful. It's a very popular restaurant in the area so often there's a waitlist. Call-ahead seating is a good idea, especially on weekends, but it's not a reservation--just gets you a little bit ahead of the line. read more

Every single one of our orders was incorrect. There was plastic around my prime rib. My mother's steak tasted like lighter fluid or gasoline. My husband and I ordered the sirloin and all you can eat shrimp. The steak was tender and delicious cooked to perfection. Our waitress kept the shrimp coming and they were crisp and tangy. The big event for me really though was our waitress Kym. She said she had just started working here this week. Let me tell you I haven't had a waitress this good in a long time. She was friendly and personable. She made sure our order was to our liking. She refilled our drinks timely and checked back just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. We usually enjoy our visits here, but this last time got kind of weird. We started off with the bloomin' onion. They brought it out with extra sauce, which was good because my husband is a heavy dipper.. they were so greasy though that we both decided to immediately wash our faces and take showers right when we got home. We ordered the Porter house pork chop to split with mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes and two side salads. The house with ranch was standard but my husband's Caesar was kind of bland even after we ordered extra dressing. We decided the flavor just didn't taste very ceasary. The waiter asked my husband how he wanted his pork, and he said medium..? I said i thought pork should always be cooked well so that you don't get the bochalism and when they brought it out it looked straight up raw in the middle. Being concerned, we decided to take the safe route and send it back for more cooking. When it returned if was juicy and delicious and the amount of mashed potatoes had increased! Excellent! The mac and cheese didn't taste as good as it looked. During the meal, because of our location we would frequently get smelly drafts from the restroom everytime the doors opened. It smelled like cheap hand soap and farts. My husband at one point had to use it and returned feeling sick and insisted it was time to go. The real crazy part was the loud, disturbing family seated across from us. Between this crazy woman yelling and what I would consider nearly physically abusing her two small children, this man would loudly make comments about how one child was going to grow up to be a serial killer... This place runs like a clock. We had about a five minute wait to be sitted. The restaurant was packed so I thought that was good. Then the food was great. My sirloin was perfect and my whole plate had some good portion size food. I wanted to give them 6 stars because of what I witnessed. This couple sitting by us was talking amongst them self about the size of the lobster. Apparently where the lady was from they get large lobsters. I think I heard England. Well this manager over heard it and brought out a extra lobster tail. The couple was so surprised. They didn't know what was going on. The server was typically excellent. Outback tends to have truly great servers. The meal was up to their standards, as well, with one exception. one of our party had her steak overcooked, and then the replacement did not get out until most of us were finished eating. My one major complaint is that they flatly refused to seat our party of eight together even though there was plenty of room. They sat us in tables next to each other that could have easily been pushed together. They even told us that we could not push them together. They claimed it was some insurance issue because someone's fingers could get mashed. Obviously that is silly, since their doors still have hinges that can smash fingers and there are other common hazards that careless people can get hurt by. Even though the service was good, and the food was good, the clear lack of desire to accommodate something that is very common in the industry really hurts them in my opinion. read more

One of my friends kept raving about Outback Steakhouse and I love a good steak so I had to check it out for myself. I went with my sisters on a Saturday night. The wait was only 20 minutes, not bad. I ordered the steak sirloin with macaroni and mashed potatoes. The sirloin was ok, it was a bit dry. The whole meal was just so so. None of my sisters were impressed with their food either. They would've all preferred the food at Logan's or Ruby Tuesday. We did like the huckleberry hooch moonshine drink. Our waiter forgot our appetizer, but other than that he did a good job. Came to Outback on Valentine's Day... Yes I said it Valentine's Day. It was very busy and had an hour wait to be seated at 7pm. I got lucky and spotted a table open in the bar area and took a seat! With it being so busy I expected to have some trouble with the service. Boy was I wrong. Our server was amazing! He was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations. We there today for early dinner before work. Sat 25 minutes before getting drinks. Ordered shrimp on the Barbie, which one side was burned. My husbands had a hair in it. I don't really do chain restaurants but I ended up one year with gift cards for Outback. The tuna app is actually really good and priced well at $10 for a pretty good size order. The wedge salad is almost the exact same as at Flemings (owned and run by the same organization) and is a super great value at $4. I don't get steaks here but they seem to look OK and how can you mess up a sweet potato. Not sure if this location is corporate but the location on Union is run by a husband and wife team and I always had good service and food at that location. We have had a very good experience every time we come here. The blooming' onion is blooming' good and the steaks are always cooked to order. IT seams like a lot of places I go if I order my steak mid-rare, which in my opinion is the only way to eat a good steak, it comes back medium or rare. I'm very familiar with the restaurant business coming from extensive busboy, server, bartender, and management points of view. Being a manager I've had to take multiple servesafe classes and certifications. So to the earlier reviewer you can't get instant food poisoning. Food poisoning incubates in the stomach and doesn't cause sickness till atleast 12-24 hours after consumption of food. So evidently your wife had an underlying condition that caused her sickness. Now to the actual review. Steaks are good, priced well for their cut. A slightly better restaurant than the other major steak chains. Caesar dressing made from scratch in house is the best i have ever had. If you happen upon an Outback that is open for lunch you must absolutly try the Coolamon salad. read more

We walk into the restaurant, go to the call TABLE, let the girl know, 3 for a table. She says it will be about 10 minutes, no problem!! We get called in about 10 minutes, all is good. We get seated at a BOOTH. So I tell the girl seating us that I asked for a table. She didn't offer to go check on a table. She just laid the menus on the table and walked away. So, about 5-6 minutes later the waiter shows up. We order waters and a blooming onion and bread. Takes about 7 minutes for the water. Blooming onion shows up right after. Still no bread. About 10 minutes later the waiter shows back up, takes our order. About 5-6 minutes later the salad shows up by a food runner, We ask for some more water. Never get any nor does the waiter ever show up. The food comes a little later. We ask for some water, again by a different food runner. Again no water. Still no bread. Finally get up and go to the bar to get some water. Manager shows up at the table. He asks if everything is perfect. I laughed and explained our great evening in his restaurant. I would give this restaurant a 5 star review but our waitress, Amber, was not the best. She was obviously new and not very well trained. First off, we asked for no bacon on our cheese fries but she didn't write it down and it came out with bacon all over it. Secondly, gave her 2 credit card to split the bill and instead she just put it all on one card and said to us "It all went through on one card." to which we replied "We knew it would all go through on one card we gave it to you to split the check."
