Today I had the worst experience ever in this restaurant. Starting with the bread which was lukewarm and flat to the entrees. I ordered a medium steak and it was well done and dry the sautéed onions were a joke literally 5 pieces that were barely cooked and I paid extra for that. The waitress was pathetic also. I asked for a manager twice, no one came. Finally I just asked for the check and my husband and I went home. At least his steak resembled more of a medium steak but same 5 pieces of onion. We were unable to celebrate Christmas our usual way because of the weather. I decided to take my daughter and niece to one of our favorite places, Outback on Germantown. We met at 6pm on a Friday (1/6/23); it was packed and the wait was an hour. My daughter and I wanted to wait because we have had very good experiences here. I could tell that the hostess was very overwhelmed and learned that some staff had not shown up making it very complicated. We were standing and I knew my daughter could not stand very long due to a stroke 5 years before. Very soon there was a seat large enough for us but we had not been there very long. A very kind couple gave us the seat, and thankfully they were seated for their meal soon afterwards. The hostess was moving the crowd very quickly. I don't think our wait was much over 30 minutes. We were served by Duke who was very pleasant and accommodating. We had 3 large meals with all the frills and one to go. As usual, the food was very good and Duke was busily keeping up with all of our orders. As well, Cameron assisted Duke and he was especially friendly and accommodating. It could not have been better. I noticed the hostess was also pulling double duty. Lindsey came to our table as she was monitoring the flow and talked to us about the service. She is an exceptional manager as she was following the business flow. She was at the door when we left around 8pm. We will be back. Thanks so much for your very competent staff. This restaurant has the worst service ever, even at the curbside. I called my order in and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes, but when I got there they had no knowledge of me even ordering. So finally after getting my order again I got my order an hour later and then my steaks were almost rare. I didn't find that out until I got home, and to top it all off the waitress kept my credit card. I had to cancel my card because after calling back to the restaurant and speaking with the manager he said he would check with the waitress and call me back but of course he never did. He also didn't make my order right as well. I will never return to this place ever again and don't advise anyone else to. When I'm in town (visitor) I come here and usually a great place. Tonight 3/1/22 not great an actually pretty bad as service goes. Sat at the bar, waited over 10 minutes for a drink. 15 minutes later the bar tender took my order and I asked for bread and she said it would be a while...she forgot the bread a brought it with dinner which kind of ruined the appetizer part of it. My co-workers and I have frequently been to Outback for lunch. Yesterday's lunch was an all time low. Two of us ordered a 6 oz. steak (medium well) with grilled vegetables. My other former order the same thing but medium rare. Our food came out almost burnt with no flavor. I had to ask for steak sauce three times. We also ordered coffee. We had to ask for our coffee. Our friend asked to have a new steak. It took 20-25 minutes. While the server was nice, she was not very responsive. We told them we weren't happy in a very and polite way. Although the manager was nice, he didn't really seem to understand that our lunch was not very good. We got there at 11:30. Unfortunately, we didn't leave till after 1pm. This was one of it not the worse dining experience ever. To start off they sit us at a table with a light that the bulb broke off in. While we're sitting there the manager comes out with a potato and attempts to extract the broken piece of the bulb. After shredding the potato and shocking himself he decides to move us to another table. Once at the new table and we place our order (blooming onion and burgers) we don't see our server except at other tables for about 20 minutes. When she finally comes by to ask if we needed refills on our empty tea glasses she informs us that our food is taking a little long because none of the servers are pulling their own orders but rather grabbing any food that comes up. Once we started getting food the appetizer was good but I believe I'd get a better tasting and definitely juicier burger at McDonalds. In fact the best tasting thing on the plate was the fries. Our server returned 25 minutes later never asking how our food was but did ask if we wanted a to go box. After our check Was brought out she was not seen other than at other tables. Finally after waiting over 20 minutes for her to come for the check I decided to take it to someone else to pay. The manager ended up comping our dinner and apologizing profusely for our experience. To sum it up. We spent 1 1/2 hours having probably the worst burger and dining experience I've ever had. Only good thing about the evening was the company I was with. Then, it took another 20 for me to get an appetizer. It was basically an hour before I finally got my entree. The food was decent but nothing great. Last but not least, our waitress was terrible! My husband and I have been to this location several times but I'm writing this review as my steak, which is now cold is sitting on the table. My number one pet peeve when at a restaurant is not getting everything you need to enjoy your meal. I ordered the prime rib which is supposed to come with au jus and horseradish - it arrived to the table with neither and I asked our waiter for the horseradish; he returned with au jus but no horseradish so I repeated my request - 10 minutes later and nothing. So, I could have had my steak warm not how I liked it or cold - I shouldn't have to make that choice for food I've paid for. Our waiter also seems to have an aversion to removing dirty plates from the table , he's left out table empty handed several times while plates we were done with remained. My husband enjoyed his steak, they are usually good here, but this is not the first time service has been less than great. We came on March 25th for a friends birthday. We never got our food or drink refills.. not even our salads. After we noticed we'd been waiting over an hour we asked another server (because ours had not been back) to see a manager. The manager was VERY rude. They brought the old salads out and they were hot so we asked for them to be remade. The manager didn't really listen to our concerns, his response was "well she said the food is coming out now". Even the table behind us was shocked at his tone and response. Well the food was dead, obviously had been sitting in the window. So we just sent it back. Saw the steak and unlimited shrimp commercial on tv and decided to stop in for a bite after a very long day at work. My server was excellent! Unfortunately, I wasn't paying much attention so I did not catch her name. I'm calling her excellent because she noticed I was unhappy with my steak and without asking did something about it. Changed my whole night! Next thing I know, Manager Doug was at my table telling me what he could do for me. Another young guy with locs came out to deliver my extra order of shrimp and was also extremely pleasant during our brief crossing. I came on a Saturday night, and this location was packed. My friend and I sat at the bar, so we didn't have to wait. One of the bartenders quickly introduced herself as Kacee and the other bartender as Dalton, and told us about the drink specials. There's a buy one get one draft special going on. So far so good. She gave us bread before we ordered food. So that's great too. The appetizer also came quickly. Then came the problems. The steaks arrived like 25-30 minutes after. We both ordered steaks medium-rare; I ordered a ribeye, and my friend ordered a boned-in ribeye. My steak came out rare, rarer than the seared ahi, and cold to the touch, with no grill marks. So I sent that back; it also took like 5 minutes for Kacee to take it back after I told her about it. Kacee basically ignored us from now on. Then 20 minutes later, I got my steak back from Dalton. If they are going to take 20 minutes on remaking my steak, I was hoping for a new steak, because if they're going to reheat my steak for that long, it's most likely going to be overcooked. Unfortunately, it's the very same steak I sent back; and now it's charred to a medium-well with a very wide unsightly grill mark in the center of the steak. The small side that I cut off was cooked even worse at well-done and completely blackened. So together the charred marks on the steak look like a giant middle finger. At this point I'm not about to wait another 25-30 minutes for a medium-rare steak done properly. I would have kept it had it just been medium. I could hear the screaming in the kitchen after Dalton took the "FU steak" back in. My friend's boned-in ribeye was cooked perfectly though, with beautiful grill marks and everything. I'm assuming they probably had the senior chef or head chef grilled that boned-in ribeye cause it is harder to cook properly, while I got somebody who probably shouldn't cook steak doing the regular ribeye. Tonight's Manager is a liar! Service was terrible! Not only did this $180 dinner suck, it may have been enough for me to never try another Outback again. It was that bad! I know COVID is making it hard to find good help, but, Outback would be better off closing this location rather than pissing off all the customers to a point where they won't ever try them again for another chance at gaining the business. I like Outback. My last visit wasn't totally great, but they made it right so that's what matters. But on the plus side, I now have two dishes I like. I usually always get the Teriyaki Filet Medallions (tip: if you order these, order them cooked less than you normally order steak, so if you get steak medium-rare, get these rare, etc.) and they're usually great. A light amount of teriyaki flavour, not overpowering, tender pieces of steak, and can I just say how yummy the rice is? I kind of have an obsession with rice. My last visit, I ended up trying the Seafood Mixed Grill. I now have a second favourite too if I'm not in the mood for steak or something. So yummy! It's just grilled mahi, shrimp, and scallops, with blackened seasoning (though I asked for it without it) but it was great. As far as the sides go, I love their vegetables. Their broccoli is so good, it's not just plain steamed broccoli that tastes like nothing (broccoli is easily my favourite vegetable so I'm really biased), and their mixed vegetables are great too. It's a mix of squash, broccoli, carrots, and snow peas. As far as soups go, if they have French Onion Soup, that's really good. I could be wrong, but it actually tastes like it's made by a person, not frozen or canned. The restaurant itself looks lovely too. They've redecorated and it looks nice. It looks more modern, and there's also water out in case you're waiting to be seated. Also, if there's a long wait, they'll have an employee walking around offering samples of an appetiser. I can't think of any other restaurants that do that. Another plus is this location is open for lunch now, so to avoid the rush, you can also get here earlier if you can. The dinner rush starts at around 6 pm and lasts until 8 pm at the latest, though that's on Fridays so it might end earlier on weeknights. If you get there during the dinner rush, be prepared for a pretty long wait. They do offer call ahead seating, but they only have so many spots, so once they're full they basically don't offer it anymore until they've cleared out a little. read more

My wife got served a foul piece of shrimp and I had to argue with the management while my wife was throwing up in their bathroom. The Mgt. felt I should of been content with them comping her meal only. (duhh who in their right mind would bay for rotten shrimp anyways). They were argumentative and refused to accept responsibility, they finally offered to comp our whole meal because the conversation was getting loud, not because it is proper restaurant etiquette. Decided to try new things today even tho i always come here. You should try the honey butter with the complimentary bread! The castaway cocktail is always good but tonight I tried the pineapple ginger martini straight up which wasnt my favorite but im not a huge pineapple fan and the key lime pie martini which was so good but definately an after dinner drink. For the appetizer we got the coconut shrimp which is always good. For my entree i got the royal port tilapia which im pretty sure is newer on the menu but it was very good. When I went into Outback for a family gathering, I had no intention of reviewing it. I thought, being a vegetarian, it would be unfair for me to judge a business where I can't even eat their main source of revenue. But surprisingly, I was able to eat plenty. More than plenty in fact. So, vegetarians, although this would not be my first pick, it's do-able. I ordered a cup of the potato soup. I've had MUCH better potato soup, but this tasted more like the stuff my Mom makes so I guess you'd call it traditional. Basically just potatoes and milk as far as I could tell. Very little seasoning. The cup of soup was very large for a "cup." I also ordered dessert, a sampler of three of their primaries: a brownie sunday, cheese cake, and carrot cake. It was all "meh." The carrot cake was not bad. I might order this again. But the brownie was straight bad. More nut than brownie and tasted overpoweringly of cheap chocolate. The texture was also lacking. The cheese cake fell somewhere in the middle of the other two. It was alright. Nothing special, but not terrible either. I also tried the blooming onion, and this was very good. I'd rate that slightly higher than a three star. It stands out as one of the best onion dishes I have ever had, and the sauce was really good as well. Overall, this meal was not outstanding. The steaks looked like something I could cook at home for my meat eating friends if I ever wanted to go to the trouble. Same with the crab. Honestly, the blooming onion was the only thing I don't think I could make better. The waitress was great--she handled our party of 16 like a champ. The management came by repeatedly to make sure things were going smoothly. The food came out all at the same time--I know this can be difficult on a busy Saturday night and I was impressed. They even did a very quick recook on one of the steaks that got a little bit too well done and with no complaining or rudeness. So overall I'd give the experience three stars. On 7/7/22 at 5:30 pm, my wife and I had a sitter and went out on a date night for dinner and a movie (Top Gun: Maverick). We decided on Outback because we were in the mood for steak and ribs. There was no wait because we were early and beat the dinner crowd. Once seated our waiter came and took our orders. He was a good waiter (accept he did say "I want to be part of your family this evening"....odd. He was really schmoozing for the tip. We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer and our meals. My wife ordered the sirloin (medium) with loaded baked potato and the seasonal vegetables. I ordered the Drovers rib and chicken combo with loaded mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. We ate the bread and waited for the appetizer. All of a sudden Someone (not our waiter) delivered the Caesar salad to me .... but my wife has nothing to eat!!! That's a big "no, no" for me. I don't want to eat as she watches me. We wait a while and our waiter shows up with the coconut shrimp. He was wondering why the salad had already arrived. No big deal since my wife can now eat too. Unfortunately the shrimp were cooked to death! The coconut was dark brown and almost burnt. Not good Outback....especially for your bragging your expertise of "shrimp on the barbie." After eating burnt shrimp, our food arrived. What a waste! My wife's steak was way overdone and her vegetables were terrible. The carrots were not peeled and had unappetizing brown streaks on them. They were barely cooked too. Almost raw. The zucchini and squash was so over cooked that it was a pile of slimy mush. How can the constancy be so off in the same vegetable dish? My plate looked good but looks can be deceiving. The chicken was dry and the ribs were so tough. There was no "fall off the bone" ribs here. More like strain your jaw and teeth trying to rip the tough meat off the bone. When our waiter came back, we mentioned the issues and requested new vegetables. My wife changed to green beans. When the green beans arrived, they, too, we're almost raw! What is the cook doing back in the kitchen? Apparently not cooking green beans! I think they were trained on how to screw everything up. Our waiter came back and we told him the green beans were terrible. He again "played it cool" to try to get as much tip as possible. We were pretty much done at this place! This place is horrible. Worst Outback I've been to by far and by far the WORST dinner experience my family has EVER had eating out. We were here to celebrate a birthday. First, we called ahead and pressed "1" like the menu said for call ahead seating and put our name on the list. When we got connected to a person, they said they don't have that option. The waitlist option on the website didn't work either. We had a large party of 8. Since they couldn't seat us at one table in a timely manner, the manager said we could sit at two tables across from each other. That was fine with us since it was going to be a shorter wait time. He never told the hostess what he told us, so she tried sitting us apart. After waiting for longer than we were told, they ended up sitting us at two tables back to back so we couldn't see each other so we couldn't celebrate together. We finally got drinks and appetizers after almost an hour after we got there. We told them as soon as we got there we needed a high chair, but they sat us in the bar and the high chair didn't even come close to reaching the table so the 1 year old had to sit on someone's lap. We waited for EVERYTHING way longer than we should have, even taking COVID into account: the blooming onions (which were severely burnt) that were brought not even 5 minutes before the food, the drinks, the salad, sides of ranch, food, boxes, and they brought a 1 year olds Mac and cheese WAY after everyone else's food! Our waitress was so scatterbrained she forgot what we asked for as soon as she left the table. We had to ask multiple times for things like ranch, refills, more bread, etc. My mom asked for ketchup for her fries and the waitress never came back with it. They won't cook a prime rib anything less than medium, the porterhouse was way too salty to eat, the chicken strips were burnt, the blooming onion was burnt, the burger that was ordered well done came out pink, and the manager wouldn't do anything to fix it. Newly remodeled. From what the manager said, they are one of the first Outbacks to get the update and it looks absolutely splendid! Updated lighting fixtures,wall art and a paint job give it a nice facelift! A more comfortable waiting area with a drink dispenser. They are now open for lunch as well at this location, complete with a new lunch menu. I'm liking all the changes they have made.
