This is the second time I've had steak out this week and this one too did not taste like steak and it was the worst steak I've eaten. Outback has always been one of my families favorite places. But since Covid came, I noticed a HUGE drop in the quality of the food and the service. The restaurants have gotten dirty. It's a shame. But last night, my younger daughter wanted to go there to celebrate her college graduation. So, we went to the Frisco Outback. Let me say that right away, the grounds were meticulously kept. When we went in, it was spotless and our waiter Rod was excellent and the FOOD!! I am SO happy we went there and had our faith restored. It was excellent too. Arrived at the location around 7 pm. They were busy, but not slammed. Our server seemed nice, but didn't write anything down, which was disturbing for me. I literally had to ask for everything twice. The floor was greasy, so much so that I almost fell. I ordered a cocktail and iced tea. I never got the iced tea. But, the server was quick to ask me if I wanted another cocktail. The music in the restaurant was a discombobulated train wreck of hip-hop/rap/pop and country. Everything from Lady Gaga to Toby Keith, Jordan Davis, and JP Cooper & Astrid. It was weird. No rhyme or reason. It was overloading. Not relaxing, or conducive to a nice, relaxing meal. Had to ask for to-go boxes, twice. The Ceasar salad had virtually no dressing on it (had to ask for extra dressing twice, too) The steak was pretty good, a tad under-done. The baked potato was good, but, honestly, how do you screw up a baked potato? I did a curbside to-go order for a Sunday early dinner and the experience was all right. Ordering online was a breeze, as expected, so we drove over (this location doesn't do delivery) to pick it up. I'm unsure if Outback truly did curbside because after sitting in the car for 2 minutes, no one came so we ended up going inside to get our food since we could see a staff member standing inside messing with the register instead of grabbing our bag which was clearly ready behind them. Nonetheless, my order looked correct so we took it home. Then some mild disappointment sunk in. I don't know who thinks a few slivers of lettuce makes a burger a burger but no, it was not enough. And although I specified "no onions" I still got them and it was impossible to pick off because it was finely diced and mixed with the lettuce. I ended up adding my own lettuce and condiments because it was just sad. The fries, at the very least, were good. My husband ordered the steak and mac & cheese with a salad. I stole the salad and can confirm it was noice. The steak was "pretty good" but the m&c was dry. Our bloomin' onion was fine and the little chocolate parfait we ordered was a dessert. This was the best Outback food I've had in YEARS! Seriously, the steak I ordered and the ribs my daughter ordered were sooooooo good! You could taste the seasoning on the steak like the commercial would lead you to believe they used, who knew! Had lunch with my co-workers recently. We were seated promptly, and the signature dark bread and whipped butter soon appeared. The bread was soft, if a little dry, but went well with the butter. I wasn't really feeling steak, so I went with the Bloomin' Burger and fries, requested medium. The burger didn't exactly favor the photos in the menu, but it was cooked medium as requested, and the meat and bun were decently tasty. The fries were fairly unremarkable. Been eating at Outback with my family for over 30 years. There used to be a time where you could go to an Outback day of the week, and it would be consistent and delicious. Went here this past Thursday night April 25 with my husband and my son. Spent well over $100 and didn't enjoy anything except the brew stacks chicken bites. The victorias filet which is advertised as "barrel cut" was not. Nor do I think it was the filet. And of it was the filet, this is the first time in 30 something years that we couldn't tell if it was actually a filet or not. The steak house Mac and cheese tasted old and looked like it had a greenish tint to it. Took one bite and shoved it to the end of the table, the salads had a taste of "bagged lettuce" not sure if they're using that, but that's what it tasted like, didn't eat that and was just an all around off night for Outback. Hopefully this was just a one time thing because I can't afford to keep paying so much for food that tasted like no care nor thought was put into the meals. Honestly the food that night tasted likes there was either teenagers working the kitchen or just entirely new to Outback standards cooks back there. The bread served was also great. The reasons for only 3 stars: the background music was annoyingly loud and the air conditioner must have been set to below 70 degrees as it was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant. We requested the music volume be lowered, and it was slightly turned down, but we both wished we had brought our sweaters. Because it was so cold, we rushed to finish and get out of the refrigerator. Restaurants have kitchen workers and staff running around, so they get hot and the restaurant temperature is lowered, but the poor folks sitting, trying to enjoy a meal become uncomfortable. read more

Let's get into the $9.99 unlimited shrimp. Remember, we didn't wait fir anything....so the shrimp kept coming and coming and coming. We ordered the grilled garlic-butter herb shrimp which he suggested the volcanic sauce. The sauce that it comes with is super delicious and the volcano sauce is a THA BOMB BABY!! I really love Outback Steakhouse, I'm not sure about the other reviewers but the staff was super nice here, they have been prompt with curbside takeaway before and they always cook my husband and mine's steaks exactly as we order them! I'm also obsessed with their blue cheese walnut salad which is one of my top 5 favorite salads of all time. Sounds crazy? Maybe, but if you haven't had it you need to order it. When we're looking to have a regular meal we will just get an Outback Special, blue cheese crust (yummm). If we want to be "fancy" we will get the Victoria Filet. I love their garlic mashed potatoes, but all of their sides are pretty good. Eddie was amazing, the service was prompt, and the food fantastic. We had the prime rib, center cut sirloin, filet mignon, peppered ahi, the endless shrimp, Mac and cheese, sweet potato, and a cheeseburger kid's meal. Eddie had a lot of input for our choices, allowing us to make the most with our money, very friendly and quick with everything to the table. Outback seems to be going the Applebee's route of pre-processed food. It doesn't seem as good as it used to be. Keto beware: the blue cheese salad is 500 calories of sugar, no blue cheese dressing. Nothing in the menu description stating that it was syrup dressing with a few blue cheese crumples added after. The description looked like blue cheese dressing, so make sure to ask about dressings or bring your own. Also, make sure to ask for no sauce even if the description doesn't say sauce. Chicken and ribs came coated in heavy sugar sauce, but description didn't say anything about it. If you order chicken on anything be aware that it has a little spice kick. My wife can't handle any spice. I tried a bit, and while not much for someone who likes spice, it is definitely noticable. They need new menus. Don't trust anything you read.
