    Damage dirty menus
    Chad J.

I have not been to an Outback in probably 10 years, wanted to see if it had changed with this being a brand new store (Based on my memory). It seems more casual than it used to be. Service was great, I expected more lunch options but the burger was solid. The biggest issue I saw was the menus are dirty and damaged, this place has only been open for a few months so that surprised me.

This was such a wholesome experience for my family. They may be young, but I've never met a more friendly staff that is always willing to help. There were minor mistakes along the way, but they were apologetic and even took the payment off one of our dishes that were barely touched. It is a roomy restaurant that isn't too busy yet, as it just opened. The food was also delicious and plated beautifully. Overall, we had an 11/10 experience with service being 100/10

Excited to see this location finally open. Food was good, service was slow, staff was nice.

The servers are all dressed in a nice Western shirt, and the theming throughout is consistent and very well done. Even the guest napkins look like bandanas which I was super impressed with. I started with the Caesar Salad which had a little too much dressing in my opinion but was fresh and delicious. I got the petit filet as my entree and it had delicious flavor without being too salty which I greatly appreciated. Our table shared the broccolini and the Sweet Potato which were both amazing. I don't normally like Sweet Potatoes but this was pureed so finely that it was like pudding with the charred marshmallow on top. The Lone Star Poire tasted like spicy pear deliciousness in a glass. And the champagne bubble bath had an adorable presentation with the rubber duck floating on top. Overall a really great experience and a lovely hotel.

Broccolini was a snooze. The shrimp appetizer was a hard pass. Ok sized but bland beyond bland. The wedge was ok but I'm not big on sweet flavor and there was a sweetness to the dressing I didn't care for. Service was very good. The BAD - This place is LOUD!!! Crazy LOUD!! And there was hardly anyone there. You could hear the bartenders shaking the martinis. When we mentioned it to our server, she said we should hear it when it's crowded. More bad, gnats. I saw that in a previous review. Definitely annoying but also considered a health hazard according to restaurant inspection dept.

I did not get a steak, almost had a heart attack when I saw the prices. Upon reading the reviews, I'm glad now that I did not. They definitely have some work to do in that regard. I'll start with the decor. It is very basic, I think they were going for rustic, but it just looks plain and not like a high-end steakhouse at all. There is metal sheeting on the wall, lots of hanging bulbs that flickered the entire meal. Not sure if that is an electrical issue or what, but it was really strange. It was very warm inside, they had a little AC unit blowing in the corner, but we were all, sweating by the end of the meal. There was really no decor on the wall, being an interior designer. That is my first thing I'm going to observe and was really underwhelmed with their aesthetic choices. If it's a high-end steakhouse that they are looking for, they definitely need to rebrand and revise in my opinion. We were seated promptly and the server was friendly enough. The owner did stop by and welcome us, nice guy. I understand that they've been open for about six weeks and have made some changes based on client reviews, and yelp certainly had more negative reviews than Google I am seeing after the fact. I got the salmon for dinner, Caesar salad and asparagus for the side. The salmon was tasty enough, the asparagus was overcooked. My friend got the pecan crusted chicken, I tried a piece and it was really bland. She got a Caesar salad as well and a side of green beans. I would suggest offering a lower price steak option, reconfiguring the tables and putting in a stronger AC unit to facilitate the space and doing some thing about all of that glaring Sheetmetal. Add some decor and art, add some soundproofing, music and address the flickering lights. I'm hoping that they can tweak and become successful, the area definitely needs a high-end presence, and would probably pay it if the ambience and food warrants it. But my experience was only a 3 star currently, sad to say.

Atmosphere: 3/5 it's pretty basic, clean and simple but not high end steakhouse by any means. Service: 3/5 the service was good but not high end steakhouse good. Can't complain but probably on par with a top notch Texas Roadhouse vs a high end steakhouse that this wants to be. Food: Steak is what I am rating because that's what I came here for. We had 2 16oz ribeyes, one order medium rare and one rare. Both over cooked and worse was they are so thin it was pathetic for a real steak house. The meat was so under seasoned it had no flavor and it was so charred on the outside it was almost repulsive. Unfortunately Texas Roadhouse gets a 5/5 compared to this at 1/2 the cost. I talked to the owner in the way out and gave him my opinion. I hope he make a change soon, otherwise we will likely loose this dinner option soon. Oh also! The baked potato was so under cooked I could not eat it! And the Cesar salad was soggy. I might be back to try again, but as high end streak house prices for Golden Corral steaks (that might be better) I am not sure I will waste another $175 to update the review.

It is a little nicer than your average barbecue joint, tucked into an old renovated warehouse in downtown McKinney, but it still feels laid back once you settle in. I came in mostly for the chicken fried steak after hearing people rave about it, and it lived up to the hype. Crispy crust, tender inside, and that smoky twist they put on it makes it stand out from any other version I have had in town. My buddy ordered a Wagyu steak and could not stop talking about how well it was cooked, which tracks given they cut their own beef. We split the mac and cheese with chopped brisket on the side and that thing is dangerous, rich and loaded with meat. Prices run a bit higher than a typical smokehouse, but the quality earns it. If you care about where your beef comes from, this is the place to go. Excellent service every time!

It was a warm pink middle and a crusty exterior. The sauces were a great accompaniment. I didn't much care for the red wine reduction, but the chimichurri and the creamy horseradish were outstanding. The Caesar salad was delicious and executed well. All the food hit the spot and made me want to try even more of the menu. Our waitress was very kind and had the southern hospitality and accent down pat haha! She gave us fast service and was very attentive. The unique factor for me here was the back story. Our waiter Ruben was probably the best server we've had in years. He knew the food and drinks inside and out, he anticipated our needs and magically showed up with refills before I even knew I needed one. He told us about things on the menu and the restaurant and the services they offer. He was a guide without ever being pushy, he was always there with whatever we needed but was never hovering. Nice kid! I rarely talk to the managers unless something is seriously wrong. In this case I called Tom over to compliment how great the place is. We told him it was our first time in and that the only reason we hadn't been in before was it looked a bit expensive. He did mention they just came up with pick-a-pair for lunch at $14.95. Normally this means skimpy half-portions of stuff but not here. I was in the mood for bacon so I went for the BLT Salad & BLT Sandwich. The dressing was made in house and wonderfully garlicky without being overpowering. The tomatoes were juicy and flavorful, the bread was grilled to perfection, and even the arugula was delicious (and I hate arugula/rocket). My wife got the club with fruit salad as her side. Ruben said they cut the fruit daily. My wife doesn't like strawberries nor pineapple so I got bonus fruit on my salad. She only at half because Firebirds has a crème brûlée cheesecake and we had to split that. While we were there, a nearby table was celebrating and a bunch of waitstaff came out with shakers and martini glasses and poured everyone drinks. Fun and classy at the same time.
